Agree Edward. The rule of thumb seems to be that if you were a popular artist (even one that was heavily maligned post their golden age) - wait twenty years and you will be popular again. And as you say Ed, a lot of this is down to stages in their audiences lives. These bands' fans may find themselves more financially secure, with children nearing or attaining college age, empty nesters, etc. And subsequently they have disposable income again to rediscover the pop culture of their youths. So even bands as maligned as Creed and Limp Bizkit, and lets face it, Def Leppard, have all enjoyed touring resurgences. Live Nation will be eyeing which artists can be successfully revived as stadium acts to replace the dwindling stocks of classic rock. With no Aerosmith, Bon Jovi (at least atm), KISS, Ozzy, etc, etc - the touring industry needs to resuscitate more acts.
I was struck watching the 'Nothing but a good time' series on Paramount+ at how many of the 80s hard rock cadre had met untimely ends - even two of the interviewees, Jack Russell and Steve Riley failed to see their interviews broadcast, Sometimes I think the 70s bands have had more longevity than their 80s counterparts.

Also bear in mind that these bands are 30, 40, 50 years into their careers now. They’ve picked up new fans along the way. Generations of families are going too. Look at the broad mix of people you see at a Leps show.

Anyone has a subscription to Rollingstone.com ? They just posted the first interview that Alex Van Halen has given since Eddie's death. His book is about to come out too, should be really good!

Just read that Jake E Lee is in hospital after being shot multiple time in Vegas. He was Shot In The Dark…. All kidding aside, article said it was a random shooting while he was walking his dog in the early morning hours and will make a full recovery. (Which is why I made the joke)

Ross Halfin has just posted some photo's from Ozzy's induction into the Rock Hall of Fame. Curious how Billy Idol and co replace Ozzy to do his vocals.
Looked up Halfin's website can buy classic prints of Joe, Steve Harris etc for up to 2600 pounds ($3500 US). Look fantastic, not sure how to justify spending that amount of cash.
Toby Keith's Beer for my Horses (!) went triple platinum in US last week, 212 million Spotify streams, number 22 Hot 100. As always Leppard recertify!

Just saw Maiden tonight in Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Great show and band sounded tight. Bruce vocals were great as I read some reports of his voice wasn’t hitting the notes. Enjoyable evening and crowd had all ages. Few fans that I chatted with before show were expecting all the hits but alas it wasn’t to be . On a side note did the tourist thingy yesterday and today so have tomorrow Saturday to chill and have a few beers lol 😂. I head home Sunday evening and back to reality 😢

So clear. With Nickos drums really tight sounding. I think Bruce is still doing the songs justice. Stranger in a Strange Land was on my bucket list, so glad I’ve seen them play it now.

Wasting Love goes through 100 million on Spotify 9th most popular, 60 million YouTube to be 5th most popular, never found a Maiden fan who likes it!
Ghost US arena tour doing badly, some speculation could be downsized.
In UK Deep Purple a greatest hits album goes silver, 60k.

I suspect one Ghost drop a new album the tour sales will pick up. It’s weird to me they announced a tour but hide the actual name for it because the new album hasn’t been announced. Not to mention the no phone thing left a sour taste for a lot of people.

Planet Guitar Italy says ACDC playing Milan July 2025, may mean UK shows, Manchester or Glasgow?
