Caught them last week in St. Louis. It was my second time seeing them, and I believe they're the first band other than DL that I've seen headline more than once in a year. On the down side, their set was the same as it was in Chicago back in April minus two songs ("If You Really Really Loved Me" and "It Won't Suck Itself"): Supersonic Sex Machine Tomorrow Night Fat Girl (Thar She Blows) Asian Hooker Just Like Tiger Woods Gold Digging Turn Out The Lights Community Property Eyes Of A Panther Weenie Ride Party All Day ( **Censored** All Night) Death To All But Metal -------------------------- Eatin' Ain't Cheatin' 17 Girls In A Row Going by sets listed on setlist.fm, it looks like they've been doing different things on different nights. Still, I can't complain after just two shows, and arguably the between song banter is what makes the show. I'll see them every time they're around here because if they fit your sense of humor, they never fail to entertain. Their albums are the ultimate pick-me-ups if I'm in a bad mood and they sound great at that. Really they've become one of my favorite bands.

Steel panther made it cool for young audiences to like 80's rock. They went from playing covers of 80's bands better than the real bands to now making their own music and have slowly built a world wide following. It's cool for rock stars to want to get up and jam with these guys at their gigs. They are hilarious the best of both worlds really.. they rock and are funny. What more can you want.
It was cool seeing the video of vivian playing with them twice. Loved seeing him play old dio songs that he wrote and just rip the fret board up. I hadn't seen him play like that in many years.
Great Band

I hated the first album, thinking how dare they take the piss out of rock! Yet Ive done a complete 180 and I love them now. Saw them supporting the Leps last year and I'll be going to one of their UK headline shows later this year.

I had never heard of them until they toured with Leppard Last year. I did get to see the videos of Vivian playing Rainbow In the Dark and Rock of Ages. I really was surprised that I had not heard of them. I guess I will have to listen to some of their stuff.

If you look past the jokes they are actually very good musically.
However I am 100% convinced that they were using tapes for the backing vocals at the Download festival this year. In fact I noticed that with Motley Crue last year too. Queensryche are another one too, despite how good a band they are (were), they were using tapes for backing vocals too.

Ive seen them a couple of times. Last time at this years download festival. They are good musicians and the vocalist has a good voice. These things have to be there for the banter to work. I just read Classixk Rock Magazines review of Download and they wrote that after Steel Panthers performance Tenacious D`s jokes/banter didnt work aswell. Simply because Steel Panther are better musicians and showmen

I got their first album but never really like so much. When i went to Birmingham last december to see Leps I didnt care too much of them opening the set but seeing them live changed it all!!! Great music, great vacals and a lot of fun. I've seen them again in Milano (small venue but so crowded) and hopefully will go to see them in Zurich before Xmas...

Aerosmith has been my second favorite band since 2001. Little did I know, I wouldn't be getting another original studio album from them for 11 years!! But finally, we're only a couple of months away from their new album "Music From Another Dimension." Not crazy about the title but hey... Who cares when the wait has been this long for a new album. The most recent tracklist looks like this: 1. LUV XXX 2. Oh Yeah 3. Beautiful 4. Tell Me 5. Out Go the Lights 6. Legendary Child 7. What Could Have Been Love 8. Street Jesus 9. Can't Stop Loving You (feat Carrie Underwood) 10. Lover Alot 11. We All Fall Down 12. Shakey Ground 13. Closer 14. Something 15. Another Last Goodbye Since this is the first album to have songs written by all of the band members, including some classic Tyler/Perry numbers, I'm even more excited. There are more songs that will be included on foreign releases and/or a deluxe edition of the album. 00. Love Three Times A Day (Hello Goodbye) 00. Freedom Fighter 00. Up On The Mountain So it's nice that after so long, there will be so many new songs to get to know. I think the second leg of their tour should be announced later this month or sometime next month along with the second single from the new album. Really hope to catch them again this year cause they put on a great show. And I have yet to see a show that doesn't feature at least a few songs that I've never seen them play before.

well it could be worse we could be Aerosmith fans. 11 Years is between original releases is beyond ridiculous.
Should be interesting to see how they do with this new album. The last time they had an original album for sale people still bought music lol.
Although Honkin' on Bobo the covers record in 2004 still went gold.
These guys have managed to have huge success with outside songwriters, yet some bands don't.
Another band is Bon Jovi, if they had not brought in outside song writers back in the eighties they would have never reached the popularity they did. and they still have outside songwriters to this day.
anyone see Mutt Lange? lmao.... call him lmao

I forgot they were releasing a new album. 11 years is way too long between releases. I would love to see them live again. Last time I saw them live was 22 years ago. I do remember it being a good show.

I would expect this album to do something similar to the recent Van Halen album... A high debut and sales around gold if they're lucky.
Pretty much the same thing any classic rock band can hope for these days. Though if the Carrie Underwood duet blows up, it could be even bigger.
And for the record, Honkin On Bobo blows Yeah! out of the water IMO.

Two new singles should be hitting radio any day now... "What Could Have Been Love" will be for the pop stations. "Lover Alot" will be for the rock stations. And you can hear both (one?) here. I'm about to get my first listens. "Lover Alot" & "Legendary Child" - soundcloud.com/aerosmithEdit: Of course a lot of links on SoundCloud and YouTube are getting taken down so you might have to do some searching.

Having listened to the two songs a couple of times now, I really like them. They both grabbed me right away. "What Could Have Been Love" is a ballad, somewhat in the same vein as "What It Takes." Some early fan reviews on FB have even said it is similar to Def Leppard. I guess I can hear a little bit in there, especially when the backing vocals kick in. "Love Her A Lot" is a simple, straight forward rocker. After one listen, it was stuck in my head. Which I couldn't say about "Legendary Child," which took awhile to grow on me. Overall I really like them both a lot and based on the four songs I've heard from the album (including live staple "Oh Yeah") I'm even more excited for the album to come out.

I just can't keep up with this band's new album! But the deluxe edition sounds pretty damn amazing. -------------------------- Press ReleaseThere has been a witchfs brew boiling for 10 years, and Americafs greatest rock band is about to blow the cover off. On November 6, Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) will release MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION on Columbia Records. It marks the bandfs 15th studio album and their first studio album of all-new material in 11 years. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and at the bandfs studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen. MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSIONfs first two singles have been released simultaneously to radio this week. gWhat Could Have Been Loveh is now impacting at Hot AC and gLover A Loth at Rock, Active Rock, and Classic Rock. The album features 15 new tracks, including two songs that audiences in North America were treated to on the first leg of the bandfs triumphant, sold-out gGlobal Warming Tourh: gOh Yeahh and gLegendary Child,h the video for which is posted here: . MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION presents AEROSMITH in ferociously fine form and at the peak of their powers. Theyfre the only band of their stature with all-original members and who are playing better than ever before. The album abounds with one highlight after another, including gOut Go The Lights,h gOh Yeah,h gLuv XXX,h gWe All Fall Down,h gStreet Jesush and gCanft Stop Loving You,h on which Tyler duets with Carrie Underwood. The album also includes gFreedom Fighterh which features Johnny Depp on backing vocals. See the full track listing below. AEROSMITH wrapped their U.S. tour August 12 in Bristow, VA. The dates included the bandfs triumphant, sold-out return to the legendary Hollywood Bowl (August 6) in Los Angeles, where Depp joined the band onstage (http://www.msopr.com/n/client-roster/aerosmith/). A new leg of fall dates will soon be announced to support the release of MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION. gItfs not that it took ten years,h STEVEN TYLER says, gbut that we were busy getting ready!h gThis is the album we wanted to make since the band got back together in 1984,h JOE PERRY says. gCanft complain about number one singles or album-driven sold-out world tours, as we blaze the Aerosmith trail with our fans. But this is the record that when the five of us are in a room yelling turn up the volume, that room could be 1325 Commonwealth Avenue (a reference to the bandfs first apartment where they lived and wrote their first song).h A deluxe version of MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION will include: œ Four live performance videos: gRats In The Cellar,h gTrain Kept A Rollin,h gOh Yeahh and gSame Old Song and Danceh œ Exclusive interviews with the members of AEROSMITH band members œ Three exclusive new bonus tracks: gUp On A Mountain,h gOasish and gSunny Side of Loveh The MUSIC FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION track listing is as follows: 01. LUV XXX 02. Oh Yeah 03. Beautiful 04. Tell Me 05. Out Go The Lights 06. Legendary Child 07. What Could Have Been Love 08. Street Jesus 09. Can't Stop Loving You 10. Lover A Lot 11. We All Fall Down 12. Freedom Fighter 13. Closer 14. Something 15. Another Last Goodbye AEROSMITH are a living piece of American music history, having sold over 150 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are the recipients of countless awards including four GRAMMYs, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards and 12 MTV Video Music Awards among many other honors. Proving that they can cross genre-boundaries with ease, these rock legends have even taken home a Soul Train Award for Best Rap Single for their remix of Run DMC's "Walk This Way." With scores of multi-platinum albums, AEROSMITH continues to inspire generations to get their wings, get a grip and just push play. It is no wonder why they are one of the most beloved bands of all time. [Edit: Not sure why the forum is changing the text formatting so much but you get the gist of it.]

Pretty much the same thing any classic rock band can hope for these days. The reality is that if Def Leppard sell 250,000 copies of their new album in the US then its actually pretty much what they can expect. Its not out of the norm for a band of Leps vintage to sell that amount. The days of rock bands selling millions seem to be diminishing (unless your band is called AC/DC).

I heard "Street Jesus" tonight and it's amazing... After all these years of claims that they'd record something that sounds like their 70's stuff they actually did it. Kind of a mix between "Toys In The Attic" and "Rats In The Cellar."

Not many bands can touch Maiden when it comes to a live show. Truly one of the greatest rock/metal bands ever. You can understand why fans are so loyal to them they put on a great show, they don't ignore their back catalogs, they release tons of live concerts.

I'm going to see Rush tonight in St. Louis. Apparently I'm on the five year plan since I've seen them in 2002 and 2007 prior to this show. Very interesting to see that they're playing a huge chunk of their new album all in a row. I'll be very curious to see how well it goes over with the crowd. St. Louis is a big market for Rush, and Rush has a lot more die hard fans than a band like Def Leppard anyway, so I don't think it will go down terribly. Not sure my girlfriend will enjoy it since she's barely a casual fan, but we'll see, haha. Interesting to see that Rush has alternating sets this year since they tend to be static throughout a tour but do lots of rotating from tour to tour. My dad thinks we'll be getting the Night B set tonight. I'm still in the process of trying to learn the new album since it's pretty complex.

Well... It was an experience, that's for sure.
Judging by their setlist for this tour, I wondered if taking my girlfriend would be a mistake. The set is heavy on new stuff and lesser known album cuts, with only a few 'hits' to start and end the show. My lady is about as casual as it gets... She knows a few songs... Most of which weren't even played.
I'd consider myself maybe one step above 'casual' fan status of this band just because I grew up with my dad listening exclusively to Rush... So every time I was in a vehicle with him, I was listening to Rush. But they still managed to sneak in several tunes that were unfamiliar to me.
All things considered, this setlist was quite un-casual-fan-friendly.
And you know what? They killed it.
You can always expect a top notch performance from this band, and that's exactly what I got. I think the larger number of huge fans this band has was showcased quite well during the run of new songs that started the second set. Some of the songs were highlighted by pyro, which seemed to increase the reaction they got even more.
And being that my girlfriend knew a whopping three songs that they played, she still had a great time. The performance was great, the show was great, and the songs, know them or not, are great. Plus it helped that the place was a sausage fest so she had little to no wait in the bathroom. ;D Of course that did come at a price since she was getting stared at hardcore everywhere she went.
Made me proud though!
It's always an interesting change of pace seeing a show like this where there's an intermission, effectively making it seem like I'm seeing Rush open for Rush. Seeing a portion of the show with a string section was cool too.
Highlights: Subdivisions, The Big Money, The Analog Kid, Where's My Thing?, Far Cry, Caravan, The Anarchist, Carnies, Headlong Flight, Dreamline, YYZ, The Spirit Of Radio, 2112
I've only seen three shows from Rush but they play for so long and their sets have been so different each time that they've probably blown DL out of the water when it comes to how many different songs I've seen them do.
