I remember having both this and Adrenalize when they came out. It almost seemed a bit much because they felt/sounded so similar to me. But yes I did enjoy it.

WHITESNAKE's new two-CD live album, "Made In Britain/The World Record", will be released in Japan on June 19 via Ward Records. Disc 1, "Made In Britain", includes the best takes of the shows in Britain in June 2011 and Disc 2, "The World Record", contains the rare tracks from the shows in Europe and America on the "Forevermore" tour.
Asked about the decision to release two separate live albums — "Made In Japan" and "Made In Britain" — several months apart, WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale told Sweden's Metalshrine: "We didn't plan the Japanese project. You know, the Japanese tour was booked and we were invited to headline at Loud Park and I hadn't headlined a Japanese music festival since 1984, so that was a very exciting premise for me. They made a very generous offer and then asked if they could film three songs for a TV special. We said OK and my co-producers, Doug Aldrich and Michael McIntyre, and I, mixed the three songs and obviously watching the video and going crazy. It looked fantastic and we had them send over the rest of the footage and thought, 'This could be a fabulous follow-up to 'Still Of The Night'.' And where we are now, featuring new songs for the first time. The record company we work with, Frontiers, they were absolutely positive in their response, so we added that to the mix.
"What we're doing with the 'Made In Britain' CD, is giving it a different sonic identity. The CD from 'Made In Japan' is a soundtrack and the bonus stuff features behind-the-scenes, soundcheck stuff we recorded in different Japanese venues. Having fun with some our songs, like trying an unplugged version of 'Good To Be Bad' and 'Tell Me How' from the 'Forevermore' album. Stuff that people normally don't get to hear. For the second CD, it's 'WHITESNAKE the world record.' We're taking songs from all over different cities, like Oslo and there might be a Sweden Rock. I'm not sure if we legally can do that. Stuff from Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Rio. It's two entirely different projects, and for the end of the year, we're hoping to achieve a limited-edition box set for Christmas, called 'Forevermore - The Complete Collection', which will have everything 'Forevermore'-related plus outtakes, alternate mixes, acoustic versions of songs, behind-the-scenes footage. Really cool stuff.
"Made In Britain/The World Record" track listing:
Disc 1 - "Made In Britain"
01. Best Years 02. Give Me All Your Love Tonight 03. Love Ain't No Stranger 04. Is This Love 05. Steal Your Heart Away 06. Forevermore 07. Love Will Set You Free 08. My Evil Ways 09. Fare Thee Well 10. Heart Of The City 11. Fool For Your Loving 12. Here I Go Again 13. Still Of The Night

towards the end of "Thought I Died And Gone To Heaven" the backing vocals sound very Def Leppard like, pretty neat to hear IMO.

Joe and Phil sang backing vocals on the album, shame they weren't credited though.

I might be hearing this just because ypu have allready written it But too me it sure sounds like it could be Phil atleast. You learn something everyday... It sure sounds like a Def Leppard sounding song, but it also has the bearings of a Foreigner song aswell for sure. In common u ask?? Mutt

There is songs on this album and adrenalize that sound like they could be sung by either band.. I wanna touch you is another.. All i want is you is a very lepp sounding song of the era too. Like you say though.. Mutt produced this album and over watched Adrenalize.
Odd fact of the day.. Everything i do was filmed in Sheffield

The vocals do sound extremely Leppard-like which is obviously Mutt's influence but I believe Mutt is also singing background vocals on the album which is probably why it sounds so similar to Lep. I would be very surprised if Joe or Phil or anyone else were singing on this album. I believe this was Mutt's first album after doing Hysteria also so another reason it sounds so similar as I'm sure Bryan wanted to emulate a multi million shifting album.

You`re probably right. Anyone know where this rumour might come from?
I just went on Wikipedia and i cant get the timeframes to overlap properly either. Bryan Adams recorded his album from March 1990 and until June 1991. August 1990 is the time Steve was given hi Leave of Absence from the band and WUTN was released June 1991.
Seems odd that the band did something like this at that time considering what was going on? And they werent using the same studios. But then again it would just take a short trip if they wanted to talk face to face with Mutt they might have had the chance.
Probably just spent to much time on Phils side in Las Vegas so im imagening things.LOL
But it just sound so much like Phil atleast...

My copy of the original CD is long gone so I just picked this up on iTunes (pretty cheap too). When my daughter heard it I asked what she thought. She liked it and thought it was Def Leppard.

Processed drums.......... multi layered guitars and harmonies.......... maybe Def Leppard and Bryan Adams recorded a Mutt Lange album? As opposed to Bryan Adams doing a Leps album and vice versa.

I first saw these guys supporting the leps on the X your, (what a great support act).
Loved the first album which sent their success through the roof here in the UK, only for them to crash and burn after album number 2. Last years comeback album was solid enough.
They've just announced a tour for later this year in the UK where they will play Permission to Land in its entirity, as its the 10th anniversary of the album.

Great idea, but haven't they basically been doing that anyway?
Regardless I'd love to see it. Hope it comes around here eventually. Got them in the car CD player right now actually.

Near enough I think they played it on the last tour maybe with the exception of 1 or 2 tracks. It's an extensive UK tour in lots of cities, but its in smaller venues, maybe aroubd 2000 capacity.

Maiden were fantastic at download last night. Out of any headline band I've seen at download I thought these controlled the whole place and brought the house down. They really are treated like heroes here. They very much remind me of Metallica in the response they get from fans.
The setlist was great, every song went down a storm.
Right before maiden came onstage they organised a fly past from a Spitfire. I dare any Englishman not to feel patriotic at the sight and sound of one flying overhead and of course it got the crowd going.
Performance wise they are consummate professionals, Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harrris effortlessly can control an audience. No mean feat considering Harris is a guitarist and I can't think of any other guitarist who is almost like a second frontman. Their energy is fantastic too.
The staging was really good, based on the 88 seventh son tour, with extra props and pyro. Overall one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Setlist:
Moonchild Can I play with madness 2 minutes to midnight Afraid to shoot strangers The trooper The number of the beast The phantom of the opera Run to the hills Wasted years Seventh son of a seventh son The clairvoyant Fear of the dark Iron maiden ---- Aces high The evil that men do Running free

Great Set List Andy... it amazes me Iron Maiden still perform at such a high level at their age it's crazy when you think about it. What a band. How much longer can they go on touring? They seem unstoppable.
There is a whole generation of headlining bands that won't be here in 15/20 years. I don't see anyone coming up that can replace them. Maybe it's my age but it seems the like spectacle of stadium size acts are not going to exist in the future.
Everyone from Bon Jovi to Iron Maiden to Kiss and Def Leppard to Bruce Springsteen to Metallica..... what bands from the 90's and 2000's are going to replace those bands in the market place?

I actually wrote a paper in college that dealt with that as one of the main topics, and it's something I talk about with my girlfriend from time to time.
Eventually I'll just be seeing small venue concerts once in awhile and going to MLB games without the arena shows anymore.
The only other option for bands is giant travelling festivals like the terrible, terrible Warped Tour. I have no interest in those types of shows.
I can't think of any bands that have come on the scene in the last 10 or so years that will be playing (and headlining) arenas or stadiums, today or in 10-20 years. So we better enjoy the bands that are capable while we can.

So we better enjoy the bands that are capable while we can. It's really sad if you actually think about it. What will be the state of rock music in 10-20 years when all of these legacy bands retire? Will rock music have any credibility left when that time inevitably comes? The industry is so fickle that it has hindered new bands from being able to make a name for themselves and sustain any relevance...

Funnily enough I was having the same conversation in the queue for Download with a couple of people, one was a lad of about 20 whilst the other was a bloke of 50ish. We were talking about how a lot of rock bands who have recently toured or who have announced tours are getting close to the end of their careers in maybe 10 or 15 years .... Leppard, maiden, metallica, megadeth, priest, van halen, AC/DC, bon jovi, Motörhead, Saxon. Granted some of those aren't arena status, but I can't see what's coming up behind them. In fact the young lad was saying he would much prefer seeing the older bands live and doesn't think much of the bands who've been famous during his lifetime. There seems something missing from newer bands, maybe its the arena bombast or the showmanship or just the quality?
The thing is if you look at the big musical movements in the 90s and 00s most bands haven't stood the test of time and have packed it in. Grunge the next big thing was so short lived, I can only think of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains that are going strong. Nu metal bands too, what happened to all them? It's almost as if rock has become as disposable as the pop industry.
