Wasn't sure where to post this...
Interesting cover! Thought I'd hate it before hearing it but pretty well done and a bit unique IMO.

New Pearl Jam single Running is raw punk noise, not sure what Vedder sings, but like it. Short, packs punch. Well done to Conway Twitty It's Only Make Believe, released 1958, certified gold in the US this week. Thumbs up to Conway Twitty, not Pearl Jam.

A friend of mine (who is a Leppard fan) texted me this a couple months ago and I really like it! I didn't think I would.

What a shame. Erik was perfect in Skid Row. But he chose his health over touring and it was an obvious choice. What's next?

Agree...bummed as it was a great fit and would've liked to hear another album with Erik. Understandable though given his health situation and the travel demands. I'm sure family played a part too. Will be interesting to see what Skid Row does as Erik certainly rejuvenated them and brought excitement. They were definitely drawing bigger crowds than they had in a long time. Do they finally try to iron things out with Bach? Probably unlikely. I feel like odds are that anybody else will be a letdown after how well Erik did. As for Erik, I'd bet we'll see a solo album or maybe him starting his own band. I just think he wants more control over his schedule. I have seen him post that he's been writing music so guess we'll see. What a shame. Erik was perfect in Skid Row. But he chose his health over touring and it was an obvious choice. What's next?

New Slash single with Chris Stapleton Oh Well is another banging cover.
Congrats to Chic's classic Le Freak which just went five times platinum in the US. A number 1 in 1978, it has about 240 million Spotify streams and 40 million YouTube views, approximately half of Sugar. Recertify!
Jon Bon Jovi interviewed on Kimmel a couple of nights ago, documentary looks worth a watch.

Alas it doesn't but hope Jon Bon's recovery is successful. Lot of fans would like to see Jon Bon and Richie one more time. Do an ACDC type hour with 2 stadium shows per week, maybe summer 2025 through 2026. 60 shows.

Gun number 1 in Scotland 3513 sales, number 10 in UK sales 7166. Congrats Hombre!
Reo Speedwagon on Keep on Lovin You gold UK, 400000 sales.
New Pearl Jam has some nice moments, though I found Vedder's vocals to be a bit off putting. Listened to some of the new Taylor Swift, music doesn't get a lot of chance to shine Lead Singer Disease evident. Lead single is a pop song, other songs like Taylor forgot how to write a pop song.

Will also check it out. I hope it's good. My expectations are pretty low though. I think the last new song I've liked from them was Saints of Los Angeles. Didn't care much for the album as a whole though.

ACDC tour looks better than expected, good to see Beano survive.
New Bon Jovi album after all the JBJ interviews (tends to look bored, not great as interviewee, interview with Joe would have been fun) how well will Forever do? Can it crack top 10 US, top 3 UK. Greatest Hits 68 this week UK.
Skid Row with Lizzy Hale looks fun, maybe 2025 summer dates?
UK certifications Sabbath Iron Man and Ghost Mary on Cross are both gold (400k sales). Ruck Springfield Jesse's Girl platinum. Other certs for The Darkness, Soundgarden and The Ramones.
In US Red Hot Chillis have number of certs. Spotify they do 8 million per day, wow.
Metallica Munich Master video in the rain is superb.

Download this week. Heavy rumors right now Ghost is making a surprise appearance. The movie premieres next week!
A lot of the headline bands I grew up with( FOB, AX7, Bizkit) so it’s interesting to me they are now considered the main draws for this festival….also a personal sign I am getting older I guess

Bon Jovi number 3 in UK, 22800 sales, less than 900 streaming, 130% above last album. Taylor Swift followed same strategy of a couple of weeks ago in US when she released special editions to stop Billie Eilish take number 1. This time 13000 special limited time to buy edition sales in UK help Taylor be number 1 in UK.
In US BJ number 4, 55000 sales.
In UK gold album cert for latest Queens Stone Age. Single platinum Slipknot, gold Placebo, avenged Silver, Bring Horizon Silver

Just got back from seeing the Ghost movie. One of the best shot concert movies I have seen. Pure fun from start to finish. There is lore thrown in but doesn’t take over the movie to much. Excited to see what’s next from this band, someone said they are the Kiss of this generation with how much dif types of merch they have and it’s hard to argue with that. They even had popcorn buckets to buy with the movie poster pic on it.
They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but to me it’s nice and impressive to see a rock band getting what I consider a “pop artist” treatment with a full on movie roll out and such.

As good as Metallica are as a live band I don't think their live shows flow well. The solos are just self indulgent rubbish. AC/DC's live album has sold 4 million? Wow.

15 songs Metallica live, first 5 are classics, then 45 minutes of instrumentals and songs from 72 Seasons which are not good, then finish with great songs. By that point want to leave! Have seen Metallica 18 times, won't go out of my way to watch again.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Metallica! The sets do appear to lean heavily on the new album. I've watched a lot of it on their Youtube from the current tour and they sound great although I'm sure they are not capturing when they go off on a tangent. You have to have a large fanbase and a great back catalog to do the 2 night thing like Metallica/Pearl Jam etc. are doing. While I'm very happy with where Leppard is at in stadiums and still finding a way to diversify the set, I have to say I would love to see Leppard do the 2 night event also. They definitely check all the boxes to host something like this and no doubt they would keep it engaging throughout. Think of what the sets would look like! Saw Metallica twice last weekend in Warsaw 30 songs in total, 10 of which killed both nights, zero energy, tired songs. Two 10 minute instrumentals. 2025 Lepps in Europe. Metallica is doing six new songs out of 30 across the two shows, and one instrumental per night. That doesn't seem particularly insane to me.
