Well...I plan to watch the game but will be skipping halftime as usual. Can't remember the last Super Bowl halftime show I was actually interested in watching.... Yeah, enjoyed the game (even if the 49ers should have won), but didn't recognise a single song during the half time show. Enjoyed halftime. Grew up listening to Usher so it’s nice to see him on the big stage. Wonder if NFL will pull the trigger on t swift next year or if she will even do it. Her fanbase alone will get viewers but there’s also a lot of haters who would prolly throw there tv out the window if she got the spot. Don’t understand why everyone got so triggered by her but none the less I can’t think of anyone else to do the halftime that has the star power, that hasn’t yet. Obviously I could name some rock acts but the NFL has gotton away from that and I don’t see them returning to it anytime soon.

I don't know either. Equally, MJ or Prince were not to everyone's taste, but people were fine with it. Taylor Swift at HT would be a massive draw, even bigger than the Super Bowl perhaps outside the US. It would probably work better if the Chiefs were not there. Or if they were and Swift and Kelce had broken up. That would be funny.

Download announcement underwhelming, Avenged, Queens Stone Age, Fall out boy. Latter have zero people head banging. Only just stumbled across this so I went to look at the Download website for the full line up. What a pile of cack!! If this is what the future holds then Download won't be around for much longer. Dreadful line up.

ACDC Vienna is paper ticket only, posted which means an extra 125 euro's for 2 tickets. Cannot collect tickets from box office. If standing tickets undelivered cannot get replacements issued. As live in Thailand seems very risky! Paper tickets protect consumers from ticket scalpers apparently! Think may skip ACDC in Europe, see other shows instead.

UK prices quite good for ACDC, between about 70 and 150 pounds. Lot of gigs in German speaking countries, none Scandinavia, only 1 France.

ACDC Munich (0ne show) + Zurich sold out. Tried getting tickets for Zurich, no luck!
Tried to get standing tickets for Vienna, no luck! Last 3 times saw ACDC had seats, never again. Vienna had 200+ Euro seats left but not paying that to be told to sit down!
Have 2 Metallica Warsaw gigs both standing. May buy Athens Judas Priest Bruce Dickinson, Accept festival tix for 55 Euro, and Athens Duran Duran for 65 Euro standing.
Hope others had luck with the lobby, lounge and waiting areas, promoters are a funny bunch!

Looks like all 9 of the previously announced German shows sold out, including 100000 at Hockenheim. 2 German shows added already today tickets on sale. One Vienna sold out, out of 2. Zurich and Paris sold out. Italy has one show still seems lot of tickets available. Dublin low availability. Not sure others but crazy first day, easily done 1.25 million+ out of 23 shows. Or 200-250 million euro's. Ker-ching!

Curious to read this year's Download sales forecast is only 50000+, weak headliners in Avenged, Fall Out Boy, Queens Stone Age. Pantera signed with Q Prime suggests a long term future, maybe new music?
ACDC European ticket sales out of this world, German speaking countries love Angus!
New Pearl Jam single sounds great musically, not sure about Vedders vocals.

Absolutely no surprise about Download, dreadful line up that smacks of them seeing what it will be like without any of the big classic rock bands they've relied on over the years. I've decided not to go to the AC/DC tour. The new band line up and the quality of Brian's vocals on last years show have convinced me I've seen them when they were much better (91 & 08). Pantera is very interesting, there has been a lot of grumblings about this line up, but what can they do with half of them not being alive any more? You can understand the other 2 members wanting to keep their music alive in some way by touring it.

Listening to the new Beyonce country-ish single Texas Hold Em, nice enough song, on 4 occasions Pour Some Sugar On Me appears in the lyrics. New album from Beyonce expected soon, given the country-ish lead single, maybe there are a couple of Leppard-esque rockers on it as well if Beyonce is exploring other genre's.

I checked it out too. I mean, it’s a little more like Delta (Deep ) blues flavor, with a background vocals. Fair play to Beyoncé for doing something different. A little more organic. If she hasn’t captured that Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood girl power crowd yet, this is a great crossover track. Bruce Dickinson album number 2 worldwide ITunes chart, number 1 in 10 countries. Hope it has strong first week as quite like it so far, good variety.
Metallica's And Justice certified platinum in UK, BPI website says released 2018! Odd. Enter Sandman, released 2008 (!), certified this week double platinum, means 600000 sales. Disturbed Sound Silence double platinum this week, brilliant version.
Queen Bite Dust UK triple platinum, BJ Livin Prayer quadruple platinum.
In US Greta Van Fleet 2 gold certs for singles were Spotify total streams are 80 and 98m. Recertify!

Just saw a newly released song by Leah Martin-Brown. I'm mostly familiar with her work with Evol Walks. What surprised me was that this new song and solo album has Mutt Lange listed on production according to Spotify. I will say the opening of the song leads you one way briefly but then a great switch to a rock sound.

Bruce number 2 UK midweek chart 10,084 sales, imagine front loaded, fingers xx 3 end of week. Fantastic start, will be his first UK top 10 as solo artist. Good chance it will sell more in the UK than the Judas Priest album which comes out Friday.

Like the new Judas Priest good variety of metal songs. Bruce Dickinson charts at 3 in UK, 11800 sold. Number 1 in Germany, where album chart positions are based on album revenue not sales, hence why Metallica are number 3 with a vinyl Black album release. Bruce not Top 50 US. Think Bruce may out do Priest UK, not US.

Priest currently 52 sales higher than Bruce Dickinson was in UK midweek charts with 10136 sales, can they sell more by weeks end. Should be number 2 this week. Last album Firepower did 49k in US, hope this album gets close to that. In UK Priest doing an arena tour this month which looks like it is selling quite well.

For a different perspective: I often enjoy this type of release as long as it's a one off. I knew of Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, etc. but didn't have exposure to them as a kid. This is/was one way I could hear a version of their music. These days it's so easy to access the originals and discover all kinds of new 'old' music. I often wouldn't remember/think to go find the originals without the cover versions.

Judas Priest number 2 UK, 18001 sales adding nearly 8000 midweek. Normally hard rock is very front loaded, Bruce Dickinson added 1700 midweek after almost identical first weekends of 10100. Number 1 Germany, 18 US sales 26450. Good work.
Dolly Parton's Rockstar album gold in US, released last November. Did 128k first week, of which 118k was real album sales, only 10000 streaming. Album came as 4 LP's, 2 CDs as had 30+ songs. Way US certification works for Dolly is 1 LP sale as it's a quad = 4 for cert purposes. So for certification purposes Rockstars first week was probably 260k.
Congrats to veteran metal singer Doro who gets a gold disc in Germany for her first album Force Majeure released 1989, this would be for sales of 250000 which is fantastic. Today 100k gets gold, albums released before change to certification numbers have to get the 250k for gold. Can't imagine Doro has lots of gold discs, this maybe her first album cert, has a 2008 gold cert for video collection.

New studio single from Bon Jovi "Legendary" is pleasant enough, not a patch on Kick though! JBJ vocal sounds bit thin, apparently not touring to next year because of the vocal issued.
New Bon Jovi documentary looks worth watching, warts and all from the preview. Most interesting part probably Sambora leaving.

Yeah, new song is ok....nice, safe, expected song from them at this point. I'm one of those people that have been very disenchanted with the musical direction Bon Jovi has went in and haven't liked most of their output the last 15 years or so. I just wish they'd attempt to do a rock song every now and then. I think I'd like this song more if I knew it was probably just a change of pace song and there would be more rocking songs on the album. But in reality, this is probably about as "rocking" as it will get. I know some people criticize Def Leppard for the same thing but I really don't think there is any comparison. Sure, Leppard has done some varied stuff but the Leps have also still done a fair number of good, rocking songs....Take What You Want, Dangerous & Wings of An Angel being just a few examples. Bon Jovi hasn't done anything remotely close to their classic output recently. That said though, they're still huge so what do I know lol. Yeah, the documentary will be interesting and planning to watch that. New studio single from Bon Jovi "Legendary" is pleasant enough, not a patch on Kick though! New Pearl Jam single Running is raw punk noise, not sure what Vedder sings, but like it. Short, packs punch.
Well done to Conway Twitty It's Only Make Believe, released 1958, certified gold in the US this week.
