Gutted to hear the news coming out of Manchester at the Ariana Grande show last night. I was following the story and stayed up late before anything was confirmed, so to wake up this morning to the news that there were fatalities at the show is terrible. Going to concerts is something that we take for granted and this is a venue and city many of us on here know very well too. Awful news. There is absolutely no logic in this. Why? And 90% of the crowd are teenagers ffsake. So horrible. Absolutely awfull. I was in manchester for the season closing match at Old Trafford. I was at the airport hotel so in no way affected byt the act itself. But terrible, evil act and an absolute coward act. Basically kids and teenagers that was targeted. I have been to the same arena several times thru the years and we take for granted that the happy and joyfull atmosphere is shared by everyone. Also feel for Ariana Grande. She has done nothing wrong and has carry all these emotions after such an act. I hope she comes back and does a European tour shortly. Her impression of Manchester, England and Europe should not be this. #ACityUnited!!

Iron Maiden in Chicago June 15th. I've never seen them and am just a casual fan (I only know of a few hits really), but I like what I've heard. So this will be interesting.

TurnToDust86 Just been watching your Metallica videos. Thats one huge ****** show! How was it? It was awesome! A newspaper review stated there were about 39,000 people there. It was my first stadium show and is now the biggest show I've attended by crowd size too. And man, was it LOUD. I was happy with the set they played including the new songs and a little rain didn't put too much of a damper on the show.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in the round in Manchester later in the year. The stadium show looks good though to be fair. Its a totally different experience being at a gig that size, I think for me the Download and Monsters of Rock festivals were around the 80,000+ mark, plus seeing GnR back on the UYI tour at Wembley had that amount of people too. Leppard at Don Valley was 40,000.

I'll have an indoor stadium show next month when I see Guns N Roses at the former home of the Rams. I'm curious to see which show has the bigger attendance.

Saw Warrant and Firehouse this past weekend in a casino theater....fantastic show and I personally love seeing shows in smaller type settings. Not to mention can't beat seeing both of these bands playing pretty full sets for $30.
Firehouse was great and Warrant really surprised me. They used to be one of my favorite bands back in the day but I've never given them much of a chance since Jani's departure. However, I've started to warm up to them with their latest album and I thought they sounded pretty darn good in a live setting playing the older stuff as well as the newer stuff.
I kept thinking to myself how much I'd love to see either one of these bands in the "Tesla" opening spot on a future Leppard tour.

Only a couple of weeks from my shows this summer...
Last In line - 14th of July - LA Then the classic West shoe/festival thing: Doobie Brother, Earth, Wind and Fire, Journey, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles.
I have seen FM and J once before and look forward to seeing them again since those shows where great. The Eagles i have not seen before. I have high hopes for that show. Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and EWF i am not to familiar with, but they are veterans in the game and that should give me a great show...
Besides that its been a quiet year concert wise.

Iron Maiden tomorrow night!! This concert was fantastic! Ghost opened and I really didn't know what to expect from them and even though they wear costumes/makeup they sounded great and had a great stage presence. Iron Maiden was just as great as they were a year and a half ago when I saw them. I actually got more video this time. I was talking with one of the floor guards and he told me they were expecting 6,000 people and I noticed they closed the upper bowl (concert was at Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC). When IM played in Tulsa a year and a half ago, there was 11,000 in attendance and plus they flew in on their own plane (they are not using the plane this leg of the tour). Another thing, I wore my Def Leppard shirt and noticed a few others wearing theirs. There was one lady who went to the Tulsa show in 2015 and she said she loved it and loved the fact that there was 3 bands playing (DL, Foreigner and Tesla).

It's been a great couple of months with Stevie Nicks, two Last In Line shows, Y&T (awesome show!), Poison and Jackyl, and Skid Row and Winger. Today I leave for Concord NC for Carolina Rebellion! I'm not sure about this festival thing, and I think I'd rather be seeing DL in Charlottesville tomorrow, but I'm just thinking of it as a new adventure! 🙂 Tonight I'm going to Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie - so excited! In August I have Foreigner/Cheap Trick/JBLZE, Gn'R, and Tesla all in one week. Thinking about going to Kentucky for Last In Line next month.
