Queensryche 'Promised Land'. Saw it was the 30th anniversary of this album so I put it on over the weekend. This was a massive favourite of mine and even now I still think its got some amazing songs on it, I am I, Damaged, Out of Mind, Bridge, Promised Land, My Global Mind & Disconnected especially. But now I think there are too many slow ballad type tracks on it and overall its not got as much rock stuff as their previous 2 (Mindcrime & Empire). The production on this album sounds amazing though. When you look at their 4 big albums (Rage for Order, Operation Mindcrime, Empire and this) the difference between them all is very noticeable, they were always changing and moving on.

Totally agree, I just think it could do with a little tweaking in its order so there aren't slow songs together, just to break it up a bit. Promised Land is an amazing track and I love how that flows in to Disconnected too. I'd go so far as to say its one of the best produced albums ever to my ears. |

Managed to grab this slightly Lep related beauty on vinyl yesterday. Haven’t seen this album since it came out in 1990.   But I did buy the 7" single for the Heart and Soul single from it back then, which I still have. They had some push from the record company for that single as they made 2 videos for it. |

Picked up Motorhead's Ace of Spades album on vinyl and also Skid Row's new Live in London CD/DVD combo yesterday.
