Guess the one off singles are going to be a part of an album after all for Eclipse with the second part of a spaced out double album out September. They must have saved the best tracks for part 2 as all 3 singles I like a lot better than anything on the first album! Looking forward to the rest. Really enjoying the new Eclipse single (which ironically is also a one off). Had no idea they also released another single earlier this year which is also excellent. Great to see them back on track as I couldn't help but be disappointed with the album they put out last year. Every previous release has at least a few real standout songs on it with the exception of that one for me. It's even further a contrast as I would consider the previous album WIRED my favorite. It sounds like they might tour the US this year also which would be awesome...hoping they hit the Midwest!

Listening to new Kissin Dynamite album Back With A Bang as my Japan CD showed up a couple days early.
Absolutely phenomenal album! Their last album Not The End of the Road is among my favorites in recent years and they just might have topped it. I'll need more listens to really decide.
Either way, anybody that likes catchy melodic rock/hard rock that is full of hooks and sing-along choruses should be sure to check it out!

Spotify has it as an EP... Strong batch of Songs.

Full album of 12 songs...out this Friday. Not sure what spotify is doing lol. Maybe it's just a way to get their system ready for the album or something. Whole album very strong imo and follows along with those songs so far. There's a couple varied tracks but I think you need some variety to keep an album interesting. Good stuff! I've been listening to the new Deep Purple, =1. I like it a lot. It kind of has the feel of Mk II, like Fireball. But it has the sound of the albums since Now What?!. Simon McBride sounds great as the new guitarist. I'm not familiar with his other work, but I do know he has worked with Don Airy before. I think he's a little more "flashy" on the Purple stuff than the other 3 guitar players were, but it still fits.
If you like Purple from the last 15 years or so, I think you'll like it too.

Picked up an original copy of Duran Duran Rio on vinyl yesterday. Just listening to it now as I do some work at home. Some good tracks on it, clearly they picked the best for the singles in Rio, Save a Prayer and Hungry Like the wolf. Only 9 songs on it so it doesn’t outstay its welcome either.
Also listened to a Whitesnake 87 LP that I bought up a few weeks back too. Its a weird album that, originally released without Hero I go Again and it only had 9 songs on it. The version I picked up had the USA remix of Here I go Again added on there so its 10 tracks long. I also remember that various formats of this album had different tracklistings with them being in a different order back in the day. I compared this old LP to my record store day picture disc from a few years back and that has You're going to break my Heart Again in place of Looking for Love. Even now they can't stop messing about with it.
I’ve still got plenty more vinyl to listen to that I recently bought too, seems like I never have time to sit down at home and listen to a full album.

Such an amazing record, and I agree, it is crazy how many times they have messed with the track listing, different versions of Here I Go Again, etc. In 1987 when it first was released there were three different track listings. I got a cassette with the 9-tracks, then later found it on vinyl with a different order and "Don't Turn Away" on it. Many years later I found out the UK version had 11 tracks, with "You're Gonna Break My Heart Again" included. Crazy stuff.

Latest Smashing Pumpkins.
My hopes were not high, not at all, but this is actually pretty damn good on first listen. Even if the album cover looks like a pair of chopsticks and an empty rice bowl.

Aerosmith has officially announced they are retiring from touring due to Steven’s vocal injury. This one hits…they were my first concert and my first entrance into the world of classic rock.

You know what they say about all good things... A sad day for music for sure. Maybe a good day to put on A LITTLE SOUTH OF SANITY. Hopefully a long way to go yet for Leppard and let's enjoy it! Had 2 classic soundtracks on in the car for a long journey the other night that couldn't be further apart if they tried. Beverly Hills Cop and Last Action Hero. The CD's are that old that there was no track info for each song showing on my dash, just tracks 01, 02 etc.

I’m a big Octane listener on Sirius, but lately they haven’t been playing a lot of killer stuff. So I grabbed Europe’s Out Of This World CD. Amazing guitar solos from Kee Marcello. Tower’s Callin’ has to be the best one on that release, and Superstitious is a close second.

The extended version of songs from the Hysteria 30th Anniversary release. They are a lot of fun.

Picked up a copy of Faith no More's The Real Thing on CD at the weekend. Haven't heard this album for a long time since I lost my copy years ago. I can't think of anyone who sounds like these, they are a really unique sounding band. The album is front loaded with 3 great singles and Epic in particular is something else, like I said so unique that they almost created their own genre of music.
