Didn't Leppard appear on Dancing With The Stars back when Sparkle Lounge came out....? That was a pretty big appearance as that show was huge then...Although I'll admit...that was the only time I watched it They 100% did. I'm pretty sure they played Nine Lives, and Sugar. But at least definitely sugar.

why can't we get Leppard on there? I'm sure Def Leppard could be guests on the show if they wanted like they were on the Voice last year or when they did Dancing with the Stars....all are extremely high profile shows. Overall though def leppard songs are hard to cover. PSSOM is probably the easiest to cover and even that's hard to make sound good. How many singers have you seen pull off Joe Elliott's vocals and do it well? Why do you think so many Def Leppard tribute bands are terrible? They just aren't a band that can be covered and done well. The way I understand it with this setup, is that the contest says, "I wanna perform with this band, or this band, or this band" and then American Idol goes and finds out if they will come perform. It's not like Gene and Paul are sitting on their couch watching AI every week, and then call up the show and say they wanna sing with that guy.

Ha........ yes I remember their appearance caused a real stir on the forums back then. Firstly because it was lip synced, that got a lot of citicism, I rememebr a big point of contention was that Joe was miming to a 21 year old vocal line. Also remember this is the appearance that caused the Leppard/Posion 'fall out'. Bret Michaels in an interview where he criticised the band for lip syncing on that show. Hence the furore over Poison then going on to support Leps in 2009. Also the fact they edited the songs was moaned about too.

Another example that shows no matter how easy a song PSSOM may sound, it doesn't sound great when covered by someone else.

www.rollingstone.com/music/news/aerosmith-may-never-release-another-album-20140523Aerosmith May Never Release Another Album "Maybe we'll just release an EP every six months," guitarist Joe Perry says By ANDY GREENE May 23, 2014 10:40 AM ET Aerosmith kicked off a tour in Bulgaria last week that will take them throughout Europe and North America over the next four months, but don't expect to hear another new album anytime soon. "Our contract to Sony is fulfilled and we're free agents right now," guitarist Joe Perry tells Rolling Stone. "We're trying to figure out what that means. I don't even know if making new albums makes sense anymore. Maybe we'll just release an EP every six months. I don't know what the future looks like." Part of the group's reluctance to commit to a new album comes from the tepid response to their 2012 LP Music From Another Dimension!, which was their first collection of original songs in over a decade. It debuted at #5 on the charts before disappearing without a trace. None of the four singles even scraped the Billboard Hot 100. "I'm obviously disappointed it didn't work out the way it was supposed to," says Perry. "But on the other hand, once a record is out, it's out forever. Maybe in two years someone might hear a song off it and go, 'What was that song? It should have been on the radio.' And it might hit a wave again." Perry argues that factors beyond the band's control sunk the album. "It was just one of those situations," he says. "[Former Columbia Records chairman] Steve Barnett was the head of the company at the time. He was our biggest champion and he left the label three weeks before the album came out. At the same time, we tied our single ['Legendary Child'] to the G.I. Joe movie. Part of the plan was also to play the song on American Idol. We were driving down there when we found out they were delaying the movie for six months because they want to re-film it in 3D." Despite the problems, Perry remains extremely proud of Music From Another Dimension!. "It felt like a record in the old tradition to me," he says. "Everybody had a song on there. Brad [Whitford] wrote songs with Steven Tyler. Tom [Hamilton] wrote some himself. We had done it every other way, so we decided to go back to the old way. [Producer] Jack [Douglas] was there helping us. It worked out so well. The record was…is a great record." ---------------------------------------------------- This cracks me up. Now both of my favorite bands are out of their record contracts and they spin being lazy as having freedom to do anything. Remember a few years ago when Joe (Elliott) said something almost identical? EPs every six months/year? And what have we gotten since he said that? Nothing. I think for classic rock bands, the EP route is just lazy. I'm extremely thankful DL is putting effort into a new studio album, which I'm going to treat as their last one. Just as I did with Aerosmith's MFAD. It's taken so long for these bands to do anything that by this point, I don't see them doing much else. I just hope DL's new album is better than MFAD was. It's interesting to see Joe Perry say MFAD was a great record, because he has stated his displeasure with it in other recent interviews. It's a solid album with great moments, but by no means is it a great record. Too many filler tracks and I don't like the female backing vocals. I'm going to fight this EP nonsense until the day I die.

I would take 12 songs a year over 15 songs every 11 years any day. But the problem is they only use it as an excuse not to put out albums, then just disregard it completely.

The problem with Aerosmith is that its the Steven Tyler show. Leppard from what I gather in interviews and such are actually a band where every member gets a say. At one point I think it may have been that way with Aerosmith, but Steven Tyler chases that pop hit to where its just downright embarrassing.
The whole MFAD era was a mess. Yes they did have some things happen that they couldn't control, but Legendary Child in general was a weak track. They tried the ballad route again with What Could Have Been Love, but come tour time I think they played it once or twice the whole tour, and on promotional appearances didn't play it at all (whose's that sound like)....

I'm a casual Aerosmith fans and I enjoyed Legendary Child, I think its a good song. I think one of the problems with the last album is that it was too long. They should of exercised a bit of quality control and cut the number of songs down.
I'm going to see them next month and I hope LC makes it in to the set, and as this is my first time seeing them I'm hoping for plenty of hits too.

The symmetry doesn't end there. Bigwig X leaves the record company who was high on the album and then Bigwig Y shows up three weeks before release and the album goes up in flames. Sound familiar? You could change the names and the dates and that article would be almost identical to Leppard 10 years ago. And ignoring all the criticism MFAD has gotten, cutting the songs that weren't worthy of making the album (which is about half of it) actually makes it to me anyway a great album and at it's best one that I enjoyed more than any Aerosmith release in 20 years. It's simply overshadowed by the latter half of the album, which overall is indeed pretty awful.

Maiden kicked off the Maiden England tour (again) last night in Barcelona.
This is the 3rd year in a row for this tour!
There must be some real demand out there for this this show, but looking at one of the Maiden fans forum theres a lot of frustration too as they are doing this for the 3rd year running.
I believe there are 2 changes to the set list, but either way its the same stage set and close enough to the same set list as the previous 2 years.

WTF www.blabbermouth.net/news/video-sebastian-bach-transformed-into-maroon-5s-adam-levine-on-sing-your-face-off/Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach is one of the contestants in ABC's new competition series, "Sing Your Face Off". Actor John Barrowman ("Torchwood", "Arrow") will host the show, which will feature five celebrity contestants taking on the identity of an iconic music performer each week. ABC will launch "Sing Your Face Off" on Saturday, May 31 from 9 to 11 p.m. Two all-new episodes will air back to back in that two-hour time period each week. The show is described as a talent variety competition where celebrities are transformed and trained to perform as a legendary musical icon. Over the course of the series, five personalities — Bach, basketball star Landry Fields, comedian Jon Lovitz, singer China Anne McClain ("A.N.T. Farm") and actress Lisa Rinna ("Days of Our Lives") — will take on the identity of an iconic music performer. Debbie Gibson and Darrell Hammond are the primary judges, and scheduled guest judges including David Allen Grier, RuPaul, Carnie Wilson, Richard Simmons, Tom Arnold and Carmen Electra. "From the hours in the makeup chair to the days spent with choreographers and vocal coaches, each show will feature the complete transformation — not just physical — the celebrities will embody everything about the assigned icon — their walk, their talk, and their distinguishing mannerisms leading up to the live performance in front of the studio audience," according to production notes. "Viewers will get the chance to see each of the celebrities portray multiple musical performers during the series — such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Pavarotti, Pitbull, Britney Spears, and Tina Turner, to name a few." Entertainment Weekly has posted a video clip of Bach as he is transformed into MAROON 5's Adam Levine, singing "Moves Like Jagger". Check it out at this location insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/27/sebastian-bach-adam-levine/"Sing Your Face Off" is produced by Endemol USA with Georgie Hurford-Jones ("America's Got Talent") as executive producer.

Weird... Sorry....But I just have no desire to see Sebastian Bach try to be Adam Levine....Or Justin Bieber...I mean...I don't even want to see Justin Bieber being Justin Bieber.... I sorta get the non-singers being on the show and trying to fulfill some singing dream or something...But don't really get the point of Bach doing it unless he's planning some sort of crossover into adult contemporary radio... I'd much rather be watching the Living With Def Leppard Documentary in that slot

Yes, I am seeing Maiden for a third year, saw them in Vancouver 2 years ago, Gdansk last year. Seeing them in Luxembourg and Sonisphere. Hearing Phantom of the Opera is an utter joy so I will forgive them. Maiden will have an album out before Leppard they work a lot quicker, so roll on next world tour 2015, then final tour 2016/2017. Maiden won't be hanging around.

DOES THE RUMOURED KISS RESIDENCY MEAN THE DEF LEPPARD RESIDENCY WILL BE DELAYED FURTHER INTO 2015 IF NOT 2016??Will a Kiss Residency this fall DELAY a Def Leppard Residency in early 2015? Not wanting to have 2 Residencies so close together does it give Def Leppard less options early in the year and possibly forcing them to delay it until later in the year or push it to 2016?Photo Credit: Mike Campion and Mitch Lafon

So if this turns out to be a full on Residency by Kiss this fall that would pretty much rule out any Vegas Residency for Def Leppard within 6 months of it.... which would run into the New Album and Tour. So will vegas 2 happen for def leppard at all next year?

Depending on when in the fall it is I say Leppard could still do one next year. We have all heard come OCT, NOV and DEC Lep will be busy working on finishing the album and Joe is producing other albums is he not? Tour Ends in August does it not? If Kiss is doing one I am betting it will not include another band. Just wondering if it will be before or after the Kiss Kruise?

It has to be a kiss residency as the ad mentions show dates. But it doesn't mess up anything for def Leppard though as there is nothing to mess up for them, as there are no concrete plans for another Vegas residency yet.
Personally I hope we see a proper tour for the new album before another Lep residency.
I'm amazed kiss weren't one of the first to do a residency, if you ask me they would of been one of the first bands I would of thought of. Certainly above leps and gnr anyway.
