Super excited about this -- it is going to be amazing hearing that entire album played live! I'm really looking forward to seeing what other deep cuts they throw in; according to an interview I just read, The Edge said it was a "clean slate" and that anything could happen. Maybe Drowning Man?
Now, fingers crossed that the Chicago show doesn't conflict with Lep tour dates in my area

I also ordered a Thunder bundle. I like what I've heard thus far; can't wait to get it. I am about one night away from finishing their biography. It's been an informative read, chock full of anecdotes following the chronology of the band. I would love to see a Thunder show in person.

Should be able to make 3 Iron Maiden shows in North America, Toronto, Mansfield and New York. Never been to NY looking forward to it.
With luck maybe add Metallica and Foreigner, maybe Toronto Blu Jays.

Thunder are without doubt one of the best bands I've ever seen live, they have never failed to deliver in the 27 years I've been a fan. If you've never seen them live then try and pick up the Thunder 'live' DVD (released in 1997 with a union jack on the cover) or Thunder '20 & Out' live DVD. Its a pity you're unlikely to get many shows in the US, they seem to be a well kept secret for some reason, they should be bigger than they are.

Nancy Wilson, of HEART, has teamed up with former Prince bandmember Liv Warfield to form ROADCASE ROYALE. The first single Get Loud is very good, choppy guitars, with some R&B/blues, very different to Heart.
I like it. Mature sounding rock.

I'm so glad you had a great time! Indeed I'm jealous they played 24 songs. I don't know that Lep has ever played that number. 6 songs from the new album. Unprecedented in today's age. I'm definitely jealous in that regard. How was Jon vocally?? Did he "talk" the lyrics to older material? Or did he actually sing them with passion?

Howver I am contemplating a Last In Line show instead lol

Nice! I might not like the direction they've went in with their music the past handful of albums but I'd still give them props for their setlists. They generally play 2 to 2 1/2 hour shows and they mix things up pretty nicely with running order and they aren't afraid to play their new songs.

Well done to Thunder on making Number 3 on the UK chart, selling more than 11,000, more than DL did on their first week.
2 different songs which I'm listening to at the moment Rag N Bone Man's "Human", bit like Sam Smith with a kick. Huge in UK.
Bodycount's "No Live's Matter". Angry multimillionaire Ice-T rapping over some loud riffs.

Interesting article on Billboard about country singer Eric Church (hats off to him) and ticket scalpers: Country star Eric Church has been battling ticket scalpers for years as his popularity grew and he began selling out arenas. But he's taken his biggest step yet by cancelling more than 25,000 tickets to his spring tour that were purchased by scalpers and putting them back on sale for fans to purchase. "We're getting better at identifying who the scalpers are," Church said. "Every artist can do this, but some of them don't. Some of them don't feel the way I feel or are as passionate." In a report last year, investigators in New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office cited a single broker that bought 1,012 tickets within one minute to a U2 concert at Madison Square Garden when they went on sale on Dec. 8, 2014, despite the vendor's claim of a four-ticket limit. By day's end, that broker and one other had 15,000 tickets to U2's North American shows. The report said third-party brokers resell tickets on sites like StubHub and TicketsNow (owned by Ticketmaster) at average margins of 49 percent above face value and sometimes more than 10 times the price. www.billboard.com/articles/news/7694335/eric-church-cancels-25k-tickets-bought-by-scalpers

Iron Maiden are releasing a live album from their Book of Soulds world tour. No surprise as Maiden are very good at documenting their tours it seems. This one though contains tracks from lots of different venues, I'm not normally a fan of live compilation albums and I hope there are no fades between songs. Steve Harris even mentions in the press release how difficult it was to get a consistent sound across the album as a whole. Whilst the tracklisting is representative of this years tour, its missing 2 tracks from the 2016 leg in Tears of a Clown and Hallowed be thy Name. SOURCETWO YEARS IN THE MAKING, IRON MAIDEN LIVE ALBUM TO BE RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 17TH
Warner Music will release IRON MAIDEN’s ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ on November 17th worldwide [through BMG in the USA]. This live recording comprises 15 songs captured during ‘The Book Of Souls World Tour’, which covered 39 countries across six continents during 2016 and 2017, and was seen by over two million fans. ‘The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter’ will be released physically in CD, deluxe CD & vinyl audio formats, with the concert film available to stream free online or as a digital download – full details below
Produced by Tony Newton and Iron Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris, the album is based on this year’s set list and is a faithful record of the epic show, including six songs from ‘The Book Of Souls’, the band's most recent studio album, along with many other classics and fan favourites.
Steve comments, "We spent a huge amount of time working on this as I wanted to get it as close to the Maiden live experience as I possibly could and to represent our fans from different parts of the world. This meant listening to literally hours upon hours of tapes from every show, to select material and construct a sound that would run consistently across the whole album and capture the excitement of a new country like El Salvador alongside such regular favourites as Donington or Wacken.”
Maiden manager Rod Smallwood adds, "’The Book Of Souls World Tour’ was a huge undertaking, not least for Bruce who started the tour singing in public for the very first time since recovering from throat cancer. He also piloted Ed Force One, upgraded last year from a Boeing 757 to a 747 so we could go further and faster to visit some fantastic cities and fans all round the world. This year continued that excitement bringing us our most successful North American and UK tours ever. It was a very special tour in a great many ways so we felt we wanted to document it for both ourselves and for our fans. Steve has done an incredible job putting together this set from cities around the world and we’ve made sure the deluxe CD will be available in a matching book format to ‘The Book of Souls’ release.
"On top of all that the release will be celebrated by an event that is a Maiden first: a free live streaming premiere of the concert film, as a thank you to our loyal fans around the world. We hope that the global Maiden community will all enjoy coming together to watch this special event online. Many of you will be in it as there is footage from a whole host of the places we played on this momentous tour. ”
More details on how to take part in this one-off event will be published on IronMaiden.com shortly.
The full tracklisting and the cities they were recorded in, is as follows:
If Eternity Should Fail – Sydney, Australia Speed of Light - Cape Town, South Africa Wrathchild – Dublin, Ireland Children of the Damned – Montreal, Canada Death or Glory – Wroclaw, Poland The Red and the Black – Tokyo, Japan The Trooper - San Salvador, El Salvador Powerslave – Trieste, Italy The Great Unknown – Newcastle, UK The Book of Souls – Donington, UK Fear of the Dark – Fortaleza, Brazil Iron Maiden - Buenos Aires, Argentina Number of the Beast – Wacken, Germany Blood Brothers – Donington, UK Wasted Years - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The album will replicate ‘The Book Of Souls’ original formats and be issued as a limited edition deluxe 2 CD hardcase Book, a regular 2CD album, a triple black vinyl LP and digital download in high resolution audio (48khz/24 bit) including Mastered for iTunes (MFiT) version. A digital download of the concert film will also be available to purchase following its free online premiere.

Reading Bruce Dickinson's autobiog, highly enjoyable, well worth the read. He does describe Maiden as being a"trusty old tractor" at one point which may not make Steve Harris laugh! He does NOT get into bashing people which is good but does write about how being in a band for a long time it can get stale.
Would be interesting if Joe ever did a biog how he would approach it.

Picked this up at the weekend too. Obviously Bruce is a writer so the book has a quirky story style to it so far.
