Lucky boys seeing Maiden.
I saw Queen last night, excellent, no reason Lepps can't keep going to 2022 i think.

Just looking at some of the seat maps for the Bon Jovi US tour, $1,600 tickets at the front and not sure that means get to meet the great man, or Tico Torres! They are also selling tickets behind the stage, no chance of seeing JBJ's gleaming teeth. Not sure I would like those tickets. Sales look like 75% sold so far.
In all fairness I do hate it when I see a band claiming they have tickets on sale at $30 and then when I check Ticketmaster see it's only back row, Bon Jovi have huge number of tickets on sale at $25-35.
I know there has been a discussion on this forum about Lepps doing a Baseball Stadium show, in Dallas Bon Jovi are a long way of selling out about 85% of tickets sold. At the Los Angeles Forum it looks about 80% sold, as they have left 6 days before their next concert that would suggest they expected to add an extra night. In Ohio were some have suggested Lepps could do a Baseball gig at Colombus sales are about 70%, though most of the behind the stage tickets are unsold.

Bon Jovi, fueled by a strong ticket bundle, will top the SPS and album charts next week. Bon Jovi (Island) 105-115k SPS, 100-110k album.
Lepps should have bundled!

Aerosmith have just announced details of their farewell European dates. According to them Download Festival will be their only UK appearance. That may sway me to go.
America’s Greatest Rock ‘N’ Roll Band – have today announced a mammoth European tour for next year. Fresh from a run of hugely successful South American shows, Aerosmith will return across the Atlantic with one of the greatest rock shows ever seen and will undoubtedly be the ultimate must see event of 2017 as the band embark upon this, their ‘farewell’ tour, saying “Aero-Vederci Baby!”.
For more than 45 years, Aerosmith has been the quintessential Rock & Roll band, becoming one of the most influential and loved groups in the world, due to their mass appeal, unforgettable songs and groundbreaking live shows.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, selling over 100 million albums, winning countless awards (including four Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards, and 12 MTV Awards), Aerosmith are beloved worldwide. Over the past 45 years, the members of Aerosmith - Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford -- have earned an incredible 95 gold, platinum and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA for the group's albums, singles, and videos (the biggest ever tally for a USA act).
Throughout their career, Aerosmith have been at the forefront of the rock world. From early hits such as Dream On, Sweet Emotion, Toys In the Attic and Back In The Saddle, through to the genre defining Walk This Way (Aerosmith featuring Run DMC), through to massive global hits such as Janie’s Got A Gun, Cryin’, Dude Looks Like A Lady, Love In An Elevator and I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, Aerosmith are unquestionably one of the ‘must-see’ bands in the world.
Joe Perry - “It’s been 3 years since we have been on tour in Europe and I can speak for my brothers that we can’t wait to get over there and take it up a few notches. Last tour in South America we were running on all cylinders and I can see no reason to let up now."
Steven Tyler – "Aerosmith just got done ripping through South America like true ambassadors of rock...The band is unstoppable right now and in Europe, we're going to keep doing what we do best... Let The Music Do The Talking...Living On The Edge, and living to rock another day."
Aerosmith have just completed a series of sold-out shows in South America, rocking to their die-hard fans in Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru and Mexico. Their return to Europe is highly anticipated by fans and the band alike. As part of the Aero-Vederci Baby tour, they will also be performing at some of the biggest music festivals in the world including Sweden Rock, France’s Hellfest and the legendary Download Festival in Donington, UK.
Don’t miss this chance to see Aerosmith in Europe – It’s ‘Auf Wiedersehen’, ‘A Bientot’, ‘Hasta Pronto’… It’s Aero-Vederci Baby!

Every day I've got Planet Rock on my headphones at work and I love the guess the year hour in the morning. This last couple of times they've played an AC/DC track. It got me thinking that apart from a soundtrack album they've never put out a best of collection. Now they're probably near the end of their career they could well release one of the best best ofs of all time in rock. 2 cds, maybe disc 1 devoted to Bon Scott and disc 2 to Brian Johnson.

Bon Jovi's album did 125K in US last week this week may not break 10K. There album was bundled with tickets for upcoming tour. Given that most albums fall 75% in second week this would suggest that BJ did around 75K of bundled sales.

Metallica release video's for entire new album! They certainly know how to market themselves, big machine.
Speculation that new Bruno Mars album may flop in US, Metallica should be clear Number 1 then. Interesting to see if Metallica reach 250K in US first week. Album out Friday.

I read on a Rush message board I post on that there's a rumor going around that Van Hagar is going to do a tour next year. It was posted on rotharmy and supposedly Michael Anthony is on board. And Eddie's son (Wolfgang) band is going to be the opening act. I guess we will see if this actually happens.

Considering Sammy is 69 Years Old and has said he doesn't really want to do big tours anymore. So i guess if this is true the idea of making peace with the VH Brothers and bringing Jr out on tour interests him.

There is only one Van Halen, the one with Dave Lee Roth. On The Five on Foxnews Greg Gutfeld did a skit entitled "Why they are not suitable to be US President" about US politician Scott Walker who said he would like to see Van Halen reform, doesn't matter who the singer is. Of course it matters! Maybe DLR can't sing so good anymore or do flying leaps from the drum riser, but he still struts and poses about like an 18 year old girl. All praise David Lee Roth!

Personally I've never been able to get into the Hagar era of Van Halen... I'll take my chances with blasting Mean Street or Atomic Punk. For me it's not the songs from the era it's Roth himself. I never got to see them back in 84 at their peak and when i saw their reunion in 2007 it just wasn't the same. The band had no chemistry and without mikey it wasn't Van Halen. The Hagar Era was nothing but fun and great tunes. Where as Roth performed like he was in a vegas act. Sammy and Mikey with the VH brothers we're unmatched. imo

Either way I think it's safe to say that in Van Halen bad blood is usually lurking somewhere. It is disappointing how they just dropped Micheal Anthony in '06 for Eddie's son. He's a good bass player, but it's just not the same. All great musicians at the end of the day though!

Bon Jovi, fueled by a strong ticket bundle, will top the SPS and album charts next week. Bon Jovi (Island) 105-115k SPS, 100-110k album. Lepps should have bundled! Album slipped to #41 in week 2... Guessing about 10-15K.... To DL's point, a lot of work for an album, and when those are the results, can see how some bands don't bother anymore..... However, YouTube views are huge, and tour will do great, but those (lack of) sales numbers do prove a point....

Amazingly today is the 25th anniversary of the deaths of Freddie Mercury and also Eric Carr (Kiss). Plus it's 8 years since drummer Michael Lee (little angels, page/plant) passed away too.

Bon Jovi did 10K second week. Normal second week fall in modern world is about 75-80%, so based on that without bundling album may have done 50K tops, so the bundling added 75K. Expect Metallica to use bundling in next couple of weeks when they announce US / Canadian stadia dates, push album back up charts. Bruno Mars is bundling his album.
Read the following about Janet Jackson's last album: “Janet Jackson’s chart-topper this week was aided by the 30k units that were part of a ticket bundle for her tour, which explains why the album sold so well with virtually no airplay. In 2012, Madonna bundled albums with tickets (although the buyer had to actually download the album for sales to count) with her album MDNA.
There are strict rules about bundling, so a band couldn't have a $74.99 ticket and then bundle a new album for $0.01 and have it count on the chart. New albums must have a minimum selling price of US$3.49 to count (see this week's Garth Brooks 10 disc $30 chart controversy), this follows Lady Gaga selling a million copies first week of an album sold for $0.99.

I would go see Kiss again, as with everyone dates need to work.
New Miranda Lambert collection of songs is very good, nice counter balance to the new Metallica. Preference for Miranda's tracks over Metallica's. 'tallica needed to cut the excess. Still good to have them back.

I'm debating GNR also as they're heading to my neck of the woods in August. I'm just not sure I want to pay the kind of money they're asking for tickets. It seems like all the "good" seats are at least $250 each. I know there are cheaper seats but I'm not a fan of concerts in Football stadiums to begin with and wouldn't want to go if I had to sit a good distance from the stage which is probably what I'd have to do in order to get a reasonable price. I'll probably pass as my desire to see these guys just isn't anywhere near where it would've been 25 years ago. They sorta lost me over the years with all their bickering and lack of new music. Might try and make the 5 hour drive to St Louis to see Guns N Roses at the end of July. It's not set in stone but it's something to keep in mind.

Guns N Roses confirmed a short European tour of stadiums, 16 in total, I thought they would play a lot more. Only 1 London show (possibly extra), for UK, would have sold out Manchester and Glasgow football stadiums. Then they go back to the US for more stadium's, their tour this year did fantastic business but didn't sell out everywhere.
Maybe it's the weak Euro and Pound, all that Brexit stuff hanging over.

Nothing to do with leaving Europe. Even back in their heyday of playing stadiums on the use your illusion tour they didn't do massive runs of dates. So whilst I'm disappointed they're only doing 1 show in London, (which seems to be the only place some bands can't get past in this country), I'm not that surprised.

Huge first weekend for Rolling Stones in UK, did 66K, might break 100K for first week, will be Number 1.
In US should do about 110K, good for Number 4, Penatonix, Weeknd, Hamilton (who!?) be above, but still good showing.

New Album - It's Called... "Rip It Up" - Released Feb 10th 2017 Yes people, we're extremely chuffed to announce that our new studio album is finished, and it is AMAZING! We can say this of course because we've heard it, so you'll have to trust us.. It was recorded in 3 sessions (March, June and August) and it's a real step up in every direction. There are 11 brand new cracking tunes, all written as ever by Luke. He also produced it, and our old mate Nick Brine recorded it at Rockfield in Monmouth (as with Wonder Days). This time we made a few changes, with some new mixing ears wrapped around it in the form of the talented Clint Murphy at Modern World, and Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound, who mastered it in New York USA. The album artwork was done by a fantastic Norwegian artist (yes he's an artist) called Magnus Gjoen. His work focuses on how things are not always what they seem, which we think is a bit like us.. There will be formats galore, and also like Wonder Days, there will be a whole bunch of Thunder Store Only exclusive items. All of these will be available to pre-order tomorrow morning at 09:00, so pop back here and check it all out babies! Paul Anthony will get the world exclusive first play of the title song "Rip It Up" at 08:10 tomorrow morning on Planet Rock, so tune in, have a listen, and spread the word. With your help, on February 10th 2017, we're going to Rip It Up, all over again...
