Maiden nabbed Number 3 in US pure album sales chart with 74K, 10k more than last album, great work. Sparkle did 56K, if new single is a cracker, let's hope it's numbers can do something similar.
man, this waiting ...

Sorry this is not Def Leppard related but I just wanted to share this with everybody and hear thoughts. This is the band I work for called The Spazmatics. We dress like nerds and play 80's music and also add a lot of comedy. This is a music video that I put together from footage from multiple shows of the band playing Take On Me by A-ha. The video has not been officially released and is just a rough cut. Would love to hear feedback

Just saw that Iron Maiden is going to be here at the end of February. I've never been a big fan although I do have a couple of their songs on my iPod. A couple of my friends love them so if they decide to go, I will probably go as well.

So despite what seemed to be some good reviews / press (Full story in Rolling Stone Magazine), 'Paper Gods' which debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 on for week 1, as quickly dropped to the 70's in week 2 and 190's in week 3.....
I think this is what we all quietly fear will happen to the Leppard album. In theory it should do much better, but probably only if the next single is able to get much more airplay than "Let's Go".....

Pressure Off was a fantastic first single. The album is quite dark though, Duran have evolved beyond their 'pop' days. The Billboard 200 includes pure album sales (CD's vinyl, buying full album digitally) + track downloads + streaming. Last week Iron Maiden's Book of Souls was Number 50 in pure album sales but was 94 on the Billboard Top 200. This fate happened to Duran as they are 194 Billboard 200 but on Pure album chart are 90. Their target age group are older and more likely to buy the album rather than stream. See link below. Your fears are well founded. What we now see week-in week out is a different Number 1 on pure album sales and then the Billboard 200. Last week Don Henley was Number 1 on pure album sales, Fetty Wap (??!!) Billboard 200. So Leppard will appear higher on the Pure Album chart than Billboard 200, then disappear very quickly of the latter chart. www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=112934&start=25

This has been a good day. I just found my original copies on vinyl of AC/DC's Back in Black and Dirty Deeds. My parents are clearing out their house and I was lending a hand. Years ago my mother told me she had donated the albums to a community yard sale.

Wow!! Y'all have to check out this album. Michael Sweets voice is still prime. He can hit those high notes to perfection. Guitar work, omg, very sweet!!
I like that they prove you don't have to do the satanic thing to rock out.

Spare a thought for fans and the crew of the Eagles of Death Metal who were at the Bataclan tonight in Paris as the terror attacks unfolded. This is a venue Leppard have played at in the past.

That is unspeakable horrible. I thought the same, we attend concerts, could very easily be us going through that.

My heart goes out to everyone in Paris. What is thought-provoking is that the terrorists came in under the radar of every agency so this could literally happen anywhere. I will never understand how people can hate like that.

Saw Taylor Swift Thursday, second time, not as good as the first time. OK.
Will be very curious to see how the new Adele does, in US some forecasters are going 2 million, given that 21 did 11 million in the US but on per capita basis did better in UK (nearly 5 million), Canada (1.5 million), Australia (1 million), and very well elsewhere, 25 could be looking at close to 5 million first week. Hello has gone down a storm.
Just booked Lamb of God in Las Vegas in February, Sabbath in Vienna, Maiden in Prague next summer ($52 standing!). Hope Lepps do Europe somewhere, budget won't stretch to US.

In the fanpack it says Mutt Lange maybe working with Airbourne who are like AC/DC on speed. They have some very good songs but not an LP worth of them. Could be one to look forward to in 2019, i mean 2016! I liked Mutt's work with Muse.
Thoughts with the city of Paris.

Unbelievable news about Paris....
I really like Airbourne. More AC/DC than AC/DC in some ways. Fun attitude, great playing, and powerful catchy songs. I can't wait to hear what Mutt brings to the table.

From Billboard. If Adele does 2.5 million in US first week, you can double that worldwide. Way to go girl, especially in current music climate.
"Sources reveal that Columbia Records will ship 3.6 million physical copies of the Adele's new album 25 in the U.S., which would probably mark the largest number of new-release CDs shipped in the past decade. As of Nov. 18, insiders tell Billboard that parent company Sony Music is projecting first-week CD sales of 1.5 million, while Apple digital sales are expected to be about 900,000. Overall downloads should come in at about 1 million units. Sources also suggest that preorders at iTunes will wind up at about 450,000, while Amazon’s pre-orders have already topped 100,000, for both CDs and MP3s. If the digital and CD projections are hit, that means Adele would be selling about 2.5 million units in her debut week, which would make it the largest-selling album in a week in Nielsen SoundScan history, which began monitoring album sales in 1991. That record is currently held by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, which sold 2.415 million units back in the week ending March 26, 2000."

Adele did 313K in UK first day. To guess where that might go Take That's Progress (similar demographic) did 217,500 sales on its first day, did 518,601 first week so Adele might do 750K. Hello has been a huge hit in UK and worldwide so could go higher.
In US 900K on iTunes alone first day!! Given that they expect a 60-40 split (CD's / digital) first week that puts Adele in line for over 2.5 million. Billboard is already asking the question "Can Adele's 25 be the first album to sell 1 million in the US in it's second week?" Black Friday this Friday usually sends music sales up a bit. NBC is doing a big special mid December so no reason why she can't do 5 million in the US by Christmas.
Given that 21 did better in Canada and Australia than US she could do 5 million first week.
Because Adele isn't streaming the album has been amusing reading about teenagers buying physical music for the first time.

Just reported that Adele did 1.9 million in US on first 2 days, phewee! 1.2 million digital, 700K physical. 2.5 million first week should be a lock, can she reach 3 million.
That said Adele charted at Number 4 in Japan on first day, number 7 second day, Leppard charted at 2, then 3, hurrah!

*Adele (XL/Columbia) 2.9-3.1m in US forecast keeps moving north. Hits forecasts more than 5 million by the end of the year.
In UK after 4 days 610,000+, the biggest first week in UK was Oasis with just shy of 700K, Adele looks she could touch 800K. In the 2 weeks before Christmas she should be capable of 250K each week in UK, so probably will be close to 2 million by year's end.
Still as I pointed out earlier this week, Leppard charted higher in Japan on there first 2 days, sure to keep Adele up nights!

Bother! All those ACDC Euro dates are in May / June. Much speculation that DC will do Glastonbury. Would Lepps do Glastonbury, go on before ACCA DACCA? Waste if they did, to be honest. ACDC have added US dates as well in early spring which i can't do as I'm seeing Leppard! Wouldn't change a thing mind you.
