Saw Aerosmith for the eighth time last night. As always, it was a great show. The show sold out and the crowd was energetic since the band hadn't played in Evansville in 11 years. There were some sound problems throughout the show (forcing Joe Perry to switch guitars mid-song once, if not twice). The setlist: Draw The Line Love In An Elevator Back In The Saddle Cryin' Jaded Livin' On The Edge Monkey On My Back Toys In The Attic Drum Solo / Rag Doll Stop Messin' Around Mama Kin I Don't Want To Miss A Thing The Other Side No More No More Dude (Looks Like A Lady) Walk This Way ---------------------- Dream On Sweet Emotion My streak of seeing songs I hadn't seen before came to an abrupt halt, as there were ZERO in this set. It was the first performance of "The Other Side" in the US in 10 years, but overall the set was very lazy. Almost identical to what they did last year and in the few years before that. And this comes after multiple band members talking about rehearsing deep cuts they haven't played in a long time... If that was the case, Tyler may have vetoed those deep cuts making it in the set. But this was only the third show of the tour so there's still time for them to add some deep cuts and piss me off.

So I'm sitting in my apt last night and my neighbor calls me. He works security at the Scheels Arena in Fargo where Boston and Eddie Money were playing. He said some guy just gave him a ticket saying his wife didn't want to go and could he find someone to give the ticket to. He called me. So I got to see Eddie Money and Boston (one of my fav bands) for free last night. And it was AWESOME!! I'm calling it the trial run before DL in Aug. because of my rheumatoid arthritis. Was worried I wouldn't be able to stand for long periods of time, but the adrenaline brought me through. So now I am ready for DL. I will stand and sing and dance and listen to the boys play.

Nice review TurnToDust86 As you know I saw them for the first time last year, loved it, but I understand your frustration in seeing them play the same material again. I have to say that Steve Tyler defies age with his voice, he sounds great to me, even more so when you consider the rock and roll lifestyle he's led.

Saw ACDC in Glasgow Sunday night massively impressed. Chris Slade kept perfect tempo, songs didnae get too quick. It was loud and very heavy. Hail ACDC.

Not Scottish, Northern Irish, almost the same! DC played 3 new songs, hopefully our heroes will eventually do the same. As much as I love Leppard they will have to put on a near perfect set to rival the power of ACDC in Glasgow. Here's hoping they deliver!

Just saw my first Aerosmith show tonight. It was pretty great I must say. They clocked in 125 minutes which is pretty decent (I see no reason DL can't do the same.... but anyway...). I liked the set very much: They threw in a great mix of songs from a huge variety of albums. The only complaint I have is that they overextended almost every song. They could have definitely just played each song normally and added a few extra songs in even, and still played a 9 minute version of Sweet Emotion, and that would have been a little better. There's a point where after 6 minutes of the same 4 minute song that it becomes a little boring. And who really enjoys drum solos? They're all the same to me.... And no Music From Another Dimension??? Guess that's what I get for missing them the year they released it.
Anyways, great show! Will hopefully be seeing them again!

Thunder tonight was great, as always! Very unusual setlist: Wonder Days River of Pain Black water Resurrection Day Broken The Devil made me do it Back Street Symphony I'll be waiting The thing I Want When the music played Love walked in I love you more than rock 'n' roll Low life in high places. Dirty Love (satisfaction in the middle)
Great performance and good to see Ben on stage!!

Praet that's near enough the same set from when I saw them back in March: Wonder days River of pain Black water Resurrection day Broken The devil made me do it Empty city Backstreet symphony I'll be waiting The thing I want When the music played Love walked In I love you more than rock and roll ------------------------- Low life in high places Higher ground Dirty love One thing about thunder is that their sets always promote their latest album very well.

The show was great.... as always!! A little short IMO (90 min only 14 songs) and this time I missed Empty City (my favorite song!). One day later, I saw them at Bospop. There they played 60 minutes ;-(. But a welcome change after "Europe" and "Black label society". Dream Theatre was good, but no festival band IMO.

Just saw foo fighters at Fenway park, brilliant. Dave Grohl had crowd in palm of his hands for nearly 3 hours. After a few songs forgot about his throne, he rocked hard, head banging away.
In contrast saw U2 earlier in the week at TD garden, first half ultra dull, only picked up in second half. Bono is super pretentious.
Also saw billy Joel, highly enjoyable.

However I really like the lead off singles for their last 3 albums and ended up being disappointed with the majority of the music on them. I hope this one is better.

Like new Maiden single, was sat around a computer with my Maiden loving mate at 3pm Shanghai time yesterday. Sounds good LOUD. On a par or better than El Dorado, Bruce is in rare form, whets appetite for new album. Final frontier patchy, A Matter of Life and Death takes a lot of work, but is very good. New album has at least 3 songs longer than 10 minutes, including the final track which is 18 minutes and features a piano! I will buy it September 4. The video is the best one Maiden have done, but that is coming from a very low base, it's still pretty shocking!
Up The Irons!

I hope that the new Leppard single gets the same amount of hype and plugs that maidens song is currently getting on Planet Rock in the UK. They are really hyping the fact it's their first new material in 5 years.

So Iron Maidens album is out today and it's Iron Maiden day on planet Rock radio. They are playing either a new song or a classic song every hour, they will be playing band interviews throughout the day too, then between 6 and 7pm it's a Maiden special. I wonder if Lep will get anywhere that promo with the new album too?

Really hope to see the same for Leppard.

New Maiden album is quite fantastic in places, has a number of really cracking songs like If Eternity Should Fail and Book Of Souls but at 92 minutes I think they could have cut away some of the excess, some instrumental bits go on too long. That said sounds more mature, Bruce in fine form. Won't be in Top 3 in US according to early sales, though no firm sales prediction given. Good to have the boys back, up the irons!
I read that Black Sabbath have confirmed a "final" tour early next year which finishes at a stadium in Dunedin, South island of New Zealand. Can't believe Sabbath will finish like that with no European shows. How about Sonisphere Knebworth 2016 first weekend July looking like:
Friday Leppard headline, Saturday Iron Maiden, Sunday Black Sabbath!
Different style of music but The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" is brilliant.

Huge weekend for Iron Maiden in UK 45.5K, already beat Final Frontiers first week total, could go more than 60K. Guaranteed Number 1. No US sales yet, holiday weekend, slowing things down, only info is that it won't be Top 3, battle for number 1 in pure album sales is in 90-100K range, Frontier did 63K so even if BoS improved would still have some way to go.
Up The Irons!

Maiden added 6.4K in UK on Monday, now 51.9K, 3 days to go this week could do 65K, fantastic numbers as should beat Final Frontier by 20K!! US forecast is 65-70K slightly above Final Frontier's 63K. In modern market this is brilliant.
Up The Irons!

edwardcreighton Where do you get your sales figures from? Its been reported today that Maiden is virtually guaranteed to be the UK no1 album this week. On a separate note I heard today that Richie Blackmore is reuniting with ex-members of Rainbow and Deep Purple for some shows next summer in Europe. Thats really interesting news.
