I'd guess so. They've been busy in the studio and I'm sure some dates have already been announced too. I'm looking forward to the New WS Album. It will be interesting to see what Joel brings to the table. He has big shoes to fill replacing Doug.

Wonder Days made the UK top ten albums at number 9 this week. Quite amazing really for a band like Thunder.

Instead of touring with old bands, bands like Leppard should be supporting the younger rock acts. The increased exposure will help rock music survive in this area of over produced, pop-driven crap.

Yes, but promotors have been making offers based on Leppard touring with established bands in order to virtually guarantee a good audience. They are playing it safe. Joe said so much in an interview last year with Classic Rock. If you're including The Darkness in that bracket then they would be a great support band in the UK as they are still relatively well known and have been around for over 10 years. In areas like the US they are less well known and would probably be considered a risk by promoters. But for me it would be better to hear lesser known bands than the usual merry go round of acts that promoters put together. But on the other hand I get why they do that. Haven't had a chance to listen to the track yet but I see the new album is due out June 1. Can't wait. Its good going to get a single out over 3 months before the albums release. This one song is better than any single they released from last album, Hot Cakes, which was a bit of a disappointment IMO.

Funny how much opinions differ - I absolutely LOVE Hot Cakes, for me comfortably their best album. So much so that I was recently asked to name my top 10 albums of all time, and Hot Cakes went straight into it. I'm a bit different in that I also think One Way Ticket... is also better than the debut. I also happen to like GnR's Illusion albums much more than Appetite. I guess I'm drawn to the production qualities, which probably explains why I put Hysteria as the greatest of all time, without question.....

Listened to the new song last night. Definitely more on the gritty side than anything on the Hot Cakes album. I really like the track and it has me excited for the new album.
Of course I've loved the debut since I got it in 2003 (thanks to Leppard, out of sheer curiosity as to who this band was that was opening for them in the UK). I really enjoy most of One Way Ticket and for me, Hot Cakes is their second best album. It's a little more pop and has a more positive vibe but the guitar riffs are still there for me. The Darkness are great for listening to when you want to hear some classic three chord riffing.

Well today was the big announcement and its definitley not what I was expecting. I was expecting an album of new material instead the album is called "The Purple Album" and is basically a Deep Purple covers (or re-imagining) album (remember Coverdale fronted them in the 70s).
01. Burn 02. You Fool No One 03. Love Child 04. Sail Away 05. The Gypsy 06. Lady Double Dealer 07. Mistreated 08. Holy Man 09. Might Just Take Your Life 10. You Keep On Moving 11. Soldier Of Fortune 12. Lay Down stay Down 13. Stormbringer
Deluxe edition bonus tracks:
14. Lady Luck 15. Comin' Home

Looks like they are planning to feature this album on the 2015 tour ..... They are coming here in June. Gotta decide if I'm going before tickets go on sale next week.

ok this is bizarre... my guess is they have a new whitesnake album of originals in the can. Maybe as mentioned above this extra covers project and workload is why Doug couldn't commit to everything time wise. Recording a covers album shouldn't take that long but a new album and covers would take a lot of time...plus coverdale mentioned writing new music in some previous updates or interviews.......so it might be that the originals aren't ready yet or they are just buying time until the new album is done. I might be totally off on this but something isn't adding up here.

ok so one song not the entire show??? Yes evidently just one song. Even so, you should see the reaction by several in the KISS forum. You'd think it was the entire show. My thought.... they should figure out a version of the song that can be played and sung live and skip the backing tracks.

Missed the lip syncing. By "where is it" I mean "at what point in the video is it obvious?" No idea lol. I'm sure it's more obvious to kiss fans who are more familiar with the new song.

And we think Leppard fans are negative, we have nothing on some of the Kiss fans on forums.
One of their forums is in meltdown over it. TBH I can't tell if Paul's lip syncing or not, I just assumed they had some backing tracks running to embelish the song, but I don't know it well enough.
When Leppard mimed on DWTS that sent the forum at the time into meltdown too. Stuff like that doesn't go down well with fans.

Yep its all very odd and this news came as a real surprise to me and I think to their fans in general, I haven't seen any mention of this project anywhere until this announcement. I assumed it was new stuff they were working on. To be fair Coverdale covering himself is something hes done on previous WS albums, and I suppose theres some justification in that he sang these songs originally. But they are songs he sang in his early to mid 20's, he is setting himself up for a lot of comparision between his voice then and now. They have added the odd Deep Purple track to their live setlists over the last ten years, but I'm not sure I fancy seeing a show made up of more cover versions. However if they support Leppard in the UK then I have no choice

Not sure about this White Purple album, Coverdale can do what he likes, he has been in the business long enough. Hope it does well.

I might be totally off on this but something isn't adding up here. If they did then why not release that first and release this next year as another filler project like they've been doing? My guess is there will be another live album or two in between this and the next real WS album hahaha
