VH was my oldest sister's favorite band. She was 14 years older than me. She would have been 51 this year (she passed away in 2012). She used to babysit me a lot when I was little. I was 5 years old when VH's 1984 album came out. She used to play it over and over. The intro music before Jump used to scare me. She would play it really loud and tell me there was a ghost in the bedroom...lol. Gotta love older siblings and their many pranks, I endured my fair share of abuse (a brother 8 1/2 years older and also a big reason why I like '80s rock, most notably a cassette tape titled Hysteria). Very sorry about your sister - late 40's is FAR too young to go.

Surely Roth's vocals have to be better than that artwork.....good lord I literally laughed out loud when I saw the supposed album cover - surely that isn't what it will be (if this is even real)! This is definitely something I will look forward to if it's legit, but as Andy said there better be a DVD/Blu-ray accompanied - it's 2015...! Also, as much as I dig Van Halen and really in a sense all iterations of the band, I hate how a decade worth of material is completely jettisoned from memory as there's no Sammy Hagar. SO MANY GREAT SONGS literally ignored with DLR. I get the reasoning but with Sammy they at least played DLR material live... Also, how do they not touch the literally fantastic DLR songs from the greatest hits 'Can't Get This Stuff No More' or 'Me Wise Magic'? As much as I love Van Halen I'm glad they're not my favorite band as there has been SO MUCH untapped potential from the mid-nineties to the near present...

Listening to Symplicity, singers voice sounds a bit frazzled, like a razor. For all that, good stuff. His voice is going downhill, I think. I also don't think it's been mixed very well on the last two albums. Too loud in the mix and way too "throaty," if that makes sense. Anyway, "Song & Emotion" is so good. I remember the first time I heard, when Jeff sang "You can hear him play," man...goosebumps. The guitar that follows sounds exactly like something Steve would have written. It's a brilliant tribute.

All this VH talk - I found the VH cover equivalent of the amazing BWM 5150.
Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do - one of the very best Hagar songs.

And that is only because they had to. And Dave will never do it, period. Sammy doesn't even like doing it. Also, totally agree on Me Wise Magic. Great and underrated song, but see why they don't play it live. Those aren't the songs that casual fans are familiar with.

I cringe at the mere thought of Roth trying to pull of any of Hagar's vocals. Just imagine Roth talking his way through "When It's Love." Yikes. It's a shame because it's two eras of great songs and there's really no way to see a good mix of them both live.
It's a shame the Hagar era ended like it did because the stuff from Balance followed by "Humans Being" was amazing... So much potential there brought to an abrupt end.

It's a shame because it's two eras of great songs and there's really no way to see a good mix of them both live. This is why all of the reasonable fans (Not the ones that absolutely hate either era for arbitrary reasons) are demanding a super tour, with Sammy AND Dave, Mikey AND Wolfey, Eddie, and Alex. Think of how crazy that would be. Almost certainly never gonna happen though.

Word around that there's no DVD/Blu-Ray with this. That would make the package more enjoyable. I'm glad they don't do Sammy songs, can you imagine Dave trying to do a Sammy song justice. He can't even do his own anymore.

Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) Miss America Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man) The Grand Illusion Crystal Ball (this is my fav - lyrics mean alot to me) Come Sail Away Lorelei Renegade Mr. Roboto (hate this one tho- I think this is the time Tommy Shaw had to do drugs just to get on stage and sing this one) Too Much Time On My Hands
And another fav is Suite Madam Blue.
Although I love DL, Styx is another fav of mine. Have seen them many times because they actually have come to Fargo, the last time with REO - great concert.
DL needs to come closer to Fargo than Minneapolis for me to go see them. Please?

It is glorified clip-art... I think it's brilliant... just something else to get fans talking about it.... why spend 20k on a design firm coming up with a concept when fans are going to buy it anyway. The margins are so small on these releases why spend a ton of money on something that really doesn't matter. I love it when people think outside of the box...

I don't think it looks that bad, it's like some 1930s Art Deco style.

It's been confirmed that Chris Slade is going to play drums on the upcoming tour, he was with the band in the early 90s too.
Today is the 35th anniversary of Bon Scott's death.

The show at Wrigley Field (I say Wembley every single time I say it out loud to people) sold out within hours. Really hoping they add a date in St. Louis.
