Cool that they're playing 'Creatures' and 'Tears are Falling' but that really seems lame for a residency type setlist in terms of length. That's barely more than they played on the co-headlining tour. if i was a diehard kiss fan i wouldn't be complaining at all... they just did a massive summer tour, then did a cruise for the 4th year in a row where they played an electric show and acoustic show with different setlists and now they are in vegas doing a residency... pretty awesome year imo. But... if i chose to only go see the residency and committed to more than one show i would be upset that they didn't change the setlist. I think the def leppard format for vegas was pretty awesome. No doubt Kiss have covered all bases in a way with this years touring, a regular tour with the Leps and also die hards have had the chance to go to the Kruise or Vegas (or both). But of course not everyone can afford to do it all, so I'd be a bit disappointed with those Vegas sets if they were the only shows I was going to. The thing is that the Leps set the bar high with their Vegas stint. Not only was it something different in its format, but it also saw them play such obscure songs too. I wonder if fans of other bands have used that as a reference for their own expectations?

Last night's (Wed, the 12th) 16 song setlist was the same as last Saturday's (the 8th). So.... they played the same setlist for shows 1 & 2. Changed the setlist for show 3 and played that setlist again for show 4. So now I'm wondering if they'll change again for show 5 and also play that setlist for show 6.

Kiss apparently playing Tokyo Dome March 3, 2015, a Tuesday. Would imagine they aren't flying all that way for one show. More Asian / Australian shows by themselves or with someone else?!

Def Leppard has been my favorite band since I saw them for the first time in 2007.
But on Friday I went to my second Steel Panther show, and met the band. They are four of the nicest guys you could meet, so down to earth. I had such a fantastic time! Their shows are just nothing but fun, energetic, alive and rockin'!
Def Leppard still created all my favorite music (And it's no doubt better) And I absolutely love seeing them live, but I think that Steel Panther might be my new favorite live band! \n//

Saw him live last night in Manchester. It was the Reckless 30th anniversary tour, so the first half of the show was given over to the Reckless album. He played it in its entirity, plus 3 of the tracks that never made the final cut of the album (although they are now available on the new deluxe edition). He opened with the title track to Reckless, which strangely didn't make the final cut album (not sure why as I think its really good).
The second half of the show was made up of more of his hits from his career, plus a couple of covers too. He also mirrored his bare bones theatre shows by doing some acoustic tracks without the backing band.
The venue wasn't full though, whilst the lower tier and floor looked sold out the top tier at a guess was approx half full, but either way I reckon there were around 12,000 there.
The theme of the Reckless half of the show was very black and white in the video graphics and lighting, to mirror the album cover I guess. The second half had colour video screens and lighting. As usual it was a really good show, possibly one of the best I've seen by him. He's well worth checking out IMO. I see hes doing a lot of dates in Canada on this tour too.
Reckless Set:
1. Reckless 2. One Night Love Affair 3. She's Only Happy When She's Dancin' 4. Run To You 5. Boys Night Out 6. Heaven 7. Kids Wanna Rock 8. It's Only Love 9. Long Gone 10. Somebody 11. Ain't Gonna Cry 12. Summer Of '69 13. Let Me Down Easy (Acoustic)
Second Half of the show:
14. (Everything I Do) I Do It For You 15. If Ya Wanna Be Bad Ya Gotta Be Good 16. Cuts Like A Knife 17. Can't Stop This Thing We Started 18. Please Forgive Me 19. When You're Gone (Acoustic) 20. 18 Til I Die 21. Cloud #9 22. The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You --------------- 23. You've Been a Friend to Me 24. C'mon Everybody 25. She Knows (Acoustic) 26. Straight From The Heart (Acoustic) 27. All For Love (Acoustic)

Any thoughts on Rock or Bust? For me, not as as good as Black Ice or Ballbreaker, no stand-out tracks. If it was released by a no-name band it would probably be termed as being quite good. Still, 2nd rate AC/DC is better than no AC/DC. 3 stars out of 5.

I've pre-ordered the album, I've only heard the first 2 songs and I thought Rock or Bust is a good song, better than Play Ball.

They really are extemely underrated. I got to see them twice this year (and meet them once). Took my 9 year old son to see them in St. Louis, it was his first show. Def Lep will be his second next summer.

Paul Stanley ✔ @paulstanleylive "Bluntly, We were screwed over & misled by the exec in charge of #MacysThanksgivingDayParade . We ALL deserved better." it was terrible..everything from the directing of the cameras, to the obvious delay between what the band was hearing and what the viewers at home were hearing...the slippery surface...an absolute trainwreck...

It wasn't just Kiss, most of the artists missed their cues for that parade. Somebody at Macy's screwed up big.

Watching that made my arse twitch like a rabbits nose, that was cringey and I kind of felt sorry for them.

LOL....
I'm not even sure why they'd agree to do such a thing...Their act clearly doesn't translate to such a setting.
I want the best for Def Leppard and for them to get all the publicity they can...But I honestly hope I never have to witness them performing on a float in a parade...

Rock or Bust (the song) is IMO up there as one of the best anthems of the Brian Johnson era.

Initital impressions of this are that I'm finding it easier to get in to than Black Ice (too many songs on that one). There are some great moments and a few fillers too, which for me is always the case with a DC album, but its solid IMO.
Highlights so far are the title track, Play Ball, Dogs of War, Rock and Roll Thunder and Rock the Blues Away (which sounds like Anything Goes from Black Ice).
There are simple moments in the songs Rock or Bust and Play Ball that some bands can only dream of writing, the short riff after the Play Ball chorus or the riff that underpins the last 2 lines of the Rock or Bust chorus (and intros the second verse) just grab you and are typical AC/DC.

140K US first week forecast, Black Ice did 780K, disappointing anyway you look at it. In UK sales have held up surprisingly well, Black Ice did 110K first week, by Thursday afternoon RoB had sold 61K, so should sell in the 85-90K range. In the US was Mr Simmons right?

One of the music websites I look at about music sales says RoB had little promotion in US. In UK they seemed to have more promotion than usual. Not currently residing in either country would be interesting to hear observations. Play Ball was nice first single but without Sony giving a big US promotional push maybe that was why sales are so slow.

Black Ice has a MASSIVE promo campaign thanks to Wal-Mart. Pop up stands in every walkmart with every AC-DC album and other merch. That plus the no iTunes thing, def led to some massive sales. I think a band who started in the 70s selling 140k first week is amazing.
