Will it hit number 1 in US, released after One Direction and Eminen release new CD's, former should do 500K, latter 700K+. Perhaps 300-375K would be the expected range. I know Black Ice did nearly 800K first week but the industry has imploded since.

Black Ice is one of the few albums in recent memory in the rock industry that sold in old school sales figures, I read it had sold around 8m worldwide. Thats rarely heard of these days.

www.blabbermouth.net/news/whitesnakes-live-in-84-back-to-the-bone-dvdcd-due-in-november/WHITESNAKE fans worldwide now have something to be excited about! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of WHITESNAKE's multi-platinum "Slide It In" album, Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label, will release "Live In '84 - Back To The Bone", a complete celebration of the group's awe-inspiring lineup during what many feel was the incredible beginning of what singer David Coverdale called his desire to make WHITESNAKE more "electrifying" on record and on stage.
Set for release in Europe on November 7 and in North America on November 11, this set will be available on DVD and a deluxe CD/DVD edition.
Culled from audio and video recordings and unheard demos from the private collection of WHITESNAKE leader and vocalist David Coverdale, the release offers an ultra-rare collection of material, performed by the band's acclaimed '83-'84 lineups. Featured on the record and driven by the awesome Cozy Powell on drums (RAINBOW, MSG, GARY MOORE, BLACK SABBATH); unique guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of six-stringers after his breathtaking work on the WHITESNAKE "1987" album and bassist extraordinaire Neil Murray. There is also an extraordinary emotional bonus content featuring legendary keyboardist Jon Lord performing his last show ever with WHITESNAKE on video and also the bonus CD.
"It's still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the 'Slide It In' album with me have passed away," says Coverdale. "It's incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell... Mel Galley... Jon Lord… All amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts and in the music they made. I miss them beyond words… Wait until you see and hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray."
Coverdale and co-producer Michael McIntyre launched a worldwide search for the best-quality video footage and audio tracks from the 1984 tour. Among the gems found was a set from Super-Rock, recorded at the first Japanese rock festival at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo and an invaluable video of Jon Lord's final appearance with WHITESNAKE recorded live in Sweden. "All of the features on this package have been treated lovingly and respectfully, with no expense spared, utilizing technology to improve sound and picture quality," says Coverdale, who personally oversaw all elements of this release.
Concludes Coverdale, "These are memories I treasure and delight in sharing with you as we continue our celebration of the 30th anniversary of WHITESNAKE's 'Slide It In'."

'Play Ball'...what a fantastic idea to get yourself played on ESPN. I do like the song from the little snippets heard here. In fairness I guess Undefeated did get played on ESPN also. Edit - guess I should've looked closer as it's actually TBS. Still a brilliant way to get your song marketed. Maybe one of Def Leppard's new songs should be 'Slam Dunk' or 'Hail Mary'??

Realities of aging hits home at some point I guess. Same thing happened to the singer in Spirit of the West with Alzheimer's.

classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2014-10-01/win-tickets-for-a-free-thunder-showWin tickets to a free Thunder show!
The band play London's Brooklyn Bowl in November... and it's being recorded for a live album! 30/09/2014 ~ by Fraser Lewry
Classic Rock is delighted to reveal that British rock legends Thunder will play a free show at London's Brooklyn Bowl on November 6th.
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you - the tickets for this one off, and very exclusive intimate show will cost absolutely nothing.
That's free, zilch, gratis, bugger all.
The band will play a set consisting of Thunder classics, killer covers, plus brand new songs from their first album for 6 years (title TBA - released early 2015).
And it gets better…
The show will also be recorded, so those who attend will get the chance to make some serious noise on a very special live CD, which will be covermounted on Classic Rock Magazine in January 2015.
This is your chance to hear these brand new songs BEFORE anyone else, and to catch Thunder in one of the smallest venues they've ever played in - ahead of their arena dates in March next year.

Playball full version will be played apparently on radiorock.fi at 1.30pm GMT Thursday, 3.30pm local Finnish time. Should be widely available after that, have avoided 1 minute baseball thingy, want to hear it from opening riff. Good news.

Heard Playball and Rock or Bust.
Playball better of 2 tracks, both seem like post-Black Ice type songs, but neither immediately jumped out as being as good as Rock N Roll Train.
Repeated listening may help. Of that there are no concerns, Rock or Bust will be listened to frequently.

I only got The Final Frontier about six months ago and was surprised how much I liked it. They can still put out an awesome album.

They must be due a new album.
One thing with Maiden is that they are reliable - New album. Tour. Reissues. Live albums. Archive releases.

Recording in Paris at the moment with Kevin Shirley, I'm hoping for a March release, North America tour summer 2015 that way I can do Maiden, Leppard, AC/DC in one visit. Hope the album is punchier, shorter metal tracks, lose the prog!

Hope the album is punchier, shorter metal tracks, lose the prog! What got me in to Iron Maiden back in the day was the shorter songs, they had the knack to pick the best singles from the album for release. Then they would have a handful of good album tracks with an epic thrown in. Plus when all their albums were 8-10 songs in length they never outstayed their welcome and they were easier to get in to. However since the reunion, but mainly on the last 2 (maybe 3) albums they have tried to make the songs and albums as long as possible and a lot of them just don't have a hook that draws me in. They seem too wordy as well with the lyrics trying to tell a prog story in every song (if that makes sense). So much so I have hardly listened to the last 3 albums and could probably pick out maybe 3 songs I like - Paschendale, Wildest Dreams and Benjamin Breeg. Yet the first of the reunion albums, Brave New World, I rate as one of my favourites.

a Matter of Life and Death is a cracking album, but not one for a new fan to get into. Final frontier patchy. Maiden and Leppard last albums released within weeks of each other, first albums released about same time.
As a live force, maiden are amazing saw them 5 times in past 4 years, show younger bands how to deliver.

I don't own the 2 Blaze albums, does anyone have them? If so what are your thoughts on them? Are they worth getting?
I notice that era of the band has kind of been brushed under the carpet. On any recent compilations they have used a live version sung by Bruce instead of the studio version sung by Blaze.

Gave Fear of the Dark a couple of listens over the weekend. I really struggled to get into that album back in 92 and I can see why. Some of the songs are quite weak, I think it could have been dut down to 8 tracks just like they used to do. Bruce's vocals were at their worst, he adopted a much different singing style for this album, and the previous 2 he sang on, Tattooed Millionaire and No Prayer for the Dying, although I really like No Prayer as an album as its something different. Maybe he was having voice issues at the time. It just seems like they were running out of ideas in their desire to keep on releasing albums within 2 years of their last.

The drummer of the hard rock group AC/DC, Phil Rudd, has appeared in a New Zealand court on charges of attempting to arrange a murder.
Mr Rudd, who was born in Australia, has also been charged with possessing the drugs methamphetamine and cannabis, and of making threats to kill.................www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-29928698Quite staggering news really. No wonder he wasn't at the video shoot in London the other month.

I've been checking into what KISS are doing in Vegas. Looks like they do have a cool new stage production. Obviously this could change, but 2 shows in and they've played the same setlist for both:
Creatures of the Night Psycho Circus Parasite War Machine Tears are Falling Let Me Go, Rock and Roll Lick It Up I Love It Loud Hell or Hallelujah God of Thunder Detroit Rock City Love Gun Black Diamond **Encore** Shout it out Loud I Was Made for Lovin' You Rock and Roll all Nite
Only 16 songs. If the setlist doesn't change, those who have already bought tickets for multiple shows are not gonna be happy. Normally KISS signs 2 personal items during M&G. This time they aren't signing anything during M&G. Fans are receiving an autographed band photo instead.

Cool that they're playing 'Creatures' and 'Tears are Falling' but that really seems lame for a residency type setlist in terms of length. That's barely more than they played on the co-headlining tour.

That's barely more than they played on the co-headlining tour. if i was a diehard kiss fan i wouldn't be complaining at all... they just did a massive summer tour, then did a cruise for the 4th year in a row where they played an electric show and acoustic show with different setlists and now they are in vegas doing a residency... pretty awesome year imo. But... if i chose to only go see the residency and committed to more than one show i would be upset that they didn't change the setlist. I think the def leppard format for vegas was pretty awesome.
