Wow, that looked bad. My son and I were just talking about what if the spider stage decided it didn't want to come down at all? Would they just do the concert from the platform or would they stop and try to fix it? And then I imagine Gene getting angry, and you wouldn't like Gene when he's angry...

Oh Wow! So Paul said this in Phoenix (one of the many times that he talked all night, LOL)
Having looked at the previous cities set lists I noticed that Paul and Gene were suppose to "fly" on 2 different songs. Gene didn't fly in PHX. Paul did I figured that was it. After watching this I understand even more. They DID NOT descend on the spider for the opening of the show in PHX.
So not only did we get ripped off on Rocket (Yes I understand why and am fine with it, but still disappointed) but we didn't get the descending spider. I thought it was odd that they had this big old huge lighting rig shaped like a spider and it didn't do anything, especially knowing KISS' theatrical reputation. I also vaguely remember hearing about this rig from their 2013 tour and that it needed to be seen to be believed.
Thanks for posting this. Now I feel like I got shorted even more! LOL.
Here is my YouTube of the opening of the KISS show as proof. (Also the far left video screen started acting up towards the end of the DL Set. It was still jacked up for KISS off and on throughout their set. So the video screen tech probably got his butt chewed on in PHX that night.)

So not only did we get ripped off on Rocket (Yes I understand why and am fine with it, but still disappointed) Ripped off is too strong I think. It wasn't done intentionally to rip people off. They had to leave it out.

That is amazing, ACDC go into the stuido for a couple of months and they finish an album, absolute legends. This is one band I wish will come to South Africa, as they haven't been as yet, I would pay good money to go see them, Also, what do you think is Def Leppard's most ACDC'ish sounding song? For me it has to be Four Letter Word,

Steel Panther just played a show with sort of a Ded Flatbird style tonight.
They announced two weeks ago that "Jam Prancer" would be playing the Viper Room for 21st anniversary. Although various hints were dropped on the band members' twitter, they never actually said that Steel Panther would be playing. All in great fun!

On a related note, "Jam Prancer" closed the show with "Pour Some Sugar On Me"

Having seen some TV broadcasts, listened to bootlegs and been to a show on this Maiden England never ending tour.......... I'm going to say that the sound mix they had was not as good as previous tours. The guitars seemed low in the mix and overall it sounded a bit muddy to me. Bruces vocals were higher than normal in the mix. Having done a little digging it seems that their long time FOH sound guy Doug Hall left them. It just shows the value of a trusted and good engineer at shows.

They have announced 3 headline shows for March:
March 12th - Leeds First Direct Arena March 13th - Birmingham National Indoor Arena March 14th - London Hammersmith Apollo
They will be supported by Reef and Tax the Heat. This is the first time Thunder have headlined arenas, I hope they sell well.

If thunder can sell out 3large arenas on their own why don't leppard do the same next year on their own?

If thunder can sell out 3large arenas on their own why don't leppard do the same next year on their own? The NIA show is a half arena show, they are not using the full venue and will move the stage forwards, the Hammersmith Apollo isn't as big a venue as the other 2 and the top level of seats aren't on sale yet for Leeds, however looking at the sales for that show it wouldn't surprise me if they open that up soon as it seems to be selling well. But I'd imagine Leppard can pull decent arena crowds still.

One of their most under rated songs. Very Zeppelin-esque once it kicks in around the 3.40 mark..........

Meant to post this a while back. When I got the latest Edguy album, one of the bonus track struck me as very Leppard-esque. The title—"Aychim in Hysteria"—even seems to be a nod to the band.
This is not typically Edguy's style. They've done rock songs (the album Rocket Ride is full of them), but none have had this signature kind of Def Leppard sound. I've heard rumor that Joe was supposed to sing on it. Not sure if that's true or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.
What do you think?
(Apologies if this has been discussed before. I searched but came up empty.)

Saw a post on facebook this morning that their guitarist (Ben Matthews) has finished his treatment for cancer, although he won't be playing any of the scheduled shows with them that are coming up soon, he should be back for tha UK tour next year. Speaking of which there is hopefully an announcement coming soon, I may be reading too much in to it but it could well be more dates.
