If I can make my peace with the first 21 seconds of this song somehow then I think I can learn to really like it because the chorus is brilliant and there's some cool sonics in there. I'll see where I am with it in a few days time and some more listens! I love that 70s drum beat at the start. That hooked me right away. You’re right about the sonics though, for me it’s how Joe phrases his lyrics.

Listened to it today, it's alright
Sounds like cmon cmon meets kick
I like the chorus, its catchy
Tom morello solo 2 min in very underwhelming
I think they already made their perfect glam inspired song with Kick
It's a song that'll be great to hear live

Agree also. I probably listened to this song 20 times yesterday lol. It really does have some great sonics and just a cool vibe about it. I honestly never thought I was really a fan of their more glam stuff. I mean, I never much cared for Back In Your Face or C'Mon C'Mon when those respective albums came out as back then I just wanted guitar driven stuff that sounded like Pyromania or Hysteria. But I think some switch has flicked in me the past few years as I really find myself digging these types of songs now. And I also really loved Kick on the last album. All of these songs are just kind of fun, catchy songs with good sonics to them. If I can make my peace with the first 21 seconds of this song somehow then I think I can learn to really like it because the chorus is brilliant and there's some cool sonics in there. I'll see where I am with it in a few days time and some more listens! I love that 70s drum beat at the start. That hooked me right away. decent song, but sounds like it was put together by just throwing other songs in a blender or something just sounds like something that's been done a bunch.
and thankfully Tom did a decent spot on it. i saw his name and thought he'd for sure ruin the song.
really hope this means a new album by next year sometime like i read.

As a fan of almost 40 years, I feel like I can make this comment with a clear conscience.
I feel like, since 1999 anyway, this band is either stuck revisiting old ideas over and over, or when they have a good idea, it's too late by YEARS.
Just Like 73 is 18 years too late. It would have been a great add on to the Yeah! album. Other than the idea that it's soccer chant-y, I don't feel like it will have any real legs commercially. It's them sticking to their roots and I can appreciate that, but at this stage I would prefer more Take What You Want's and less Just Like 73's.

That’s nice, I thought it would only be available on vinyl in order to keep with the ‘70’s theme… Damn, now I will have to buy a CD copy as well😂

So Joe confirmed this is the song they haven't finish on time for DSH, maybe the reason why is released as a single is because it sounds different than the 5 tracks Sav told they already wrote for the new album

Definitely agree with the YEAH vibe commentary. That was my least liked music this band put out. This song misses the mark. Sorry I just don't like it at all.

Its clearly got the Yeah vibe as its got the 70's glam rock drum loop and guitar sound, but its light years ahead of Yeah in its production values and sounding like a proper Def Leppard song IMO.

It sounds a lot closer to C'Mon C'Mon, than to something from Yeah for me.

Next up, Def Leppard will present a high-octane animated music video for “Just Like 73,” premiering on June 20, 2024 at 16:00 BST. It features the band (and Morello) like you’ve never seen them before. Wonder what delayed the music video release?

Single in the billboard rock chart, not entirely sure what it’s based on SOURCEI think it’s based on how many downloads it has ( iTunes Amazon music) but not streams ( Spotify, Apple Music) . Good to see regardless .

Yeah, very nice. I see those types of articles for other artists (Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi) so nice to see a Def Leppard one.

The animation is pretty simple, reminds me the Let's Get Rocked video, but Again, pretty simple knowing technology is way far from 1992, oh well...
