I like when they do teasers before, hypes everyone up I think.. this seems like an announcement without preparation or maybe rushed because of the slipped dates at TM

I like when they do teasers before, hypes everyone up I think.. this seems like an announcement without preparation or maybe rushed because of the slipped dates at TM The announcements been hinted at for a few weeks now by music journalists in the know about the line up and a rough date for it, so it’s always been coming. I think ticketmaster jumping the gun is nothing new and probably hasn’t affected the announcement and how it’s going to be presented.

I hate to say it but I think there’s gonna be a lot of empty seats. (I hope I’m wrong) The three warm up bands have really only played theater type venues. 3 to 4000 max capacity places at most. And there’s really no big draw to see them either. Have they even released albums within the past 20 years? I would rather see Motley again.

They regularly play the large amphitheater circuit. Last time in Dallas (their most recent tour in 2019) they sold more than 15K tickets. They have a large fanbase.

Perhaps paving the way for a short Euro tour in May / June hitting a few festivals or support to Bon Jovi. Can’t see UK arena dates happening so soon after the outdoor shows this year - but could be wrong - wondering also is the fall or autumn as we call it in the UK will see a residency in LV of some kind - interested to know what all new stage show means as they don’t really do big production do they??? Change of screen configuration and lights?? And a change of set list I would endorse!

Not sure how these will sell given that Leppard have basically done the whole of the US in the last 18 months.
Phil talked recently of being 2/3 years into a 10 year plan for the band, I’d assume 2024 is just going to be a quieter year of ticking over with these dates and maybe winter in arenas in Europe, or a few festivals scattered in if they’re able to. (Hopefully not stadiums again in the UK)
This will keep them in the public eye and keep the coffers full, gives them the winter off to be at home and maybe work on new material. I’d expect possibly a new album Spring 2025 and a tour similar to what we’ve seen for DSH with another legacy band.

Wrong on this one. Heart's last tour 2019 was in amphitheaters, 15 to 23,000 K every night.

LOL. Agree though, it's not hitting some of the normal places they normally hit unless more stops are announced. It feels kind of like the summer tours they did when they were touring every year where they're just kind of "touring to tour"....if that makes any sense. If a weird way I'm almost glad there's no shows coming near me so I don't feel very tempted to go. That said, even when I'm not interested, I'm still tempted lol as I always hate passing up opportunities to see Leppard. I try not to be debbie downer so don't want to harp in it much more than I already have. On the bright side, they're healthy, touring and I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it even though it personally doesn't excite me. Best part for me is they've left plenty of time open in the first half of the year. Maybe March/April could be a Residency? Or maybe that at least leaves time to work on new music. Feels like this is just a tour just to tour kinda thing. For fans of all the bands I hope it’s something you enjoy…..my excitement level is for this is about as high as knowing I’m about to work a 12 hr work shift….🙃

Wouldn't be surprised if a second batch of dates is announced in a few weeks like back in 2019 for the Stadium Tour.
They've managed to drum up some excitement for me with St. Louis being the first show, as I've never had the privilege of attending opening night. And being at my favorite stadium on a Saturday, it'll be a good time.
Will likely hit Chicago and maybe even try to swing New York again, as seeing my 70th show there would be special too.
I'm glad Cheap Trick is in St. Louis. Completely indifferent to Steve Miller Band. Despise Journey. I don't see any indication of this having alternating coheadliners yet... Wonder when we'll get some details.
And I'm already trying to ignore Joe's quote about "brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history. We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves." Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 528 times, shame on me.

Two of rock’s most iconic and influential bands, JOURNEY and DEF LEPPARD, have announced next summer’s hottest co-headlining stadium tour.Does that mean they are alternating the headline slot and are both playing the same length of set? "we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history. We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves" Specific parts of the bands history and a surprise or 2? Does that mean they'll be playing some different stuff than they haven't done over the last 2 years? Honestly if they started pulling out deep cuts I would eat my hat. I just don't see it happening. From the outside looking in, this tour seems to be like the standard package tour of older bands with nothing to promote other than their legacy where they play the hits and the audience lap up the the day with loads of beer. I don't even associate Leps with these bands in terms of their eras. Is this how America sees the Lep's now? Lumped in with these AOR older bands?

To answer your question: No. it’s still a bit of a stretch to have them associated with this batch of artists, but the band has always been adamant about their reach. Lep is the bridge for a lot of bands. Motley and Journey wouldn’t tour together, But Lep and Motley can, etc. Steve Miller really is the head scratcher, but Live nation sells it as an package to bring out as many types of fans to make it an event. Seen Cheap Trick, but none of the other bands on the bill interest me a massive amount. I was thinking about taking a trip to North American next year to potentially catch a show, but feel slightly less enthusiastic. Slightly...
Hope they are working on the next studio album at the same time!

Had flights already paid for Dublin to Boston return for this summer passed but had already pushed them back as far as I could next year. So just changed them again today for roughly £10 sterling. I am glad Heart are supporting as I like them . Boston here I come lol

My reaction to this announcement is that I hope they do another Vegas residency soon. They've raised their profile enough that they could do an arena tour with just one opening act and play for 105-120 minutes, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Looks like the stage will have two GA PIT sections and the band will be able to walk around and between the sections.

Evidently the 2024 tour is going to be like the 2014 tour. In 2014 the tour with KISS was called "coheadline" but KISS closed every show. The press release for the 2024 tour says "coheadline" but Ticketmaster shows Def Leppard closing every show.
