Night Ranger tonight. Double album show (Dawn Patrol & Midnight Madness) + encore of hits. Relatively inexpensive ticket is a plus.

Just recently got tickets for Bon Jovi/Bryan Adams at the Forum in June. I've been passing on seeing Bon Jovi ever since Richie left the band but I've never seen Bryan Adams do an electric show. I'd prefer it to be a double bill but he'll probably only get an hour.

Watched Slipknot in Sheffield in January amazing show and I have to say there was a few Leppard T-Shirts in the crowd! And just got tickets to see Geoff Tate playing a small rock club in Grimsby! I wonder how he fells he was once in a band that sold out Madison Square Garden now he is playing a place that holds 350 people? But sure it will be a great show.

Looking forward to the Monsters of Rock Cruise beginning this weekend! Anybody from here attending? H.e.a.t is the main attraction for me but also looking forward to Tesla, Firehouse, Tyketto, Shiraz Lane, Slaughter, Lynch Mob, Extreme, Tokyo Motor Fist, Thunder and some others. Of course also hoping to check out of of Rick Allen's Artwork Looking at it as a nice opportunity to see some bands that I keep hoping will open for Leppard but never do (outside of Tesla)

I haven't seen Thunder before. I'm only a "casual" fan of theirs with Backstreet Symphony being the only album I ever bought from them. Definitely going to check them out on the ship though. Back from the Monsters Of Rock Cruise and wow, what an experience that was. It was basically a 12 hour music festival for 5 straight days It's tough to pick highlights as there were many. Basically the bands we all know were great as they always are like Tesla, Firehouse, Extreme, etc, etc. But the real joy for me was seeing a band like Shiraz Lane tearing things up and seeing people who were unfamiliar with them quickly getting familiar. Another highlight was getting the chance to see Tokyo Motor Fist and getting the chance to chat with Steve Brown. And while many here probably know I'm a just a little bias, I have to say that H.e.a.t absolutely tore up the ship and might've had more people buzzing than any other band. I spoke to many, many people who were totally unfamiliar with them whose jaws dropped after seeing them perform and we're asking "How have I never heard of this band?". I still maintain that if they ever could be an opener for somebody like Leppard that they'd be earning new fans in droves and could be a future stadium band themselves. But we know things don't work like that anymore which is why this genre we love will eventually be extinct On a happier note, also ran into this guy on the ship

I did. Admittedly I'm not overly familiar with their stuff but caught most of one of their sets. They were solid and got to see the big songs I know from them. I was probably the odd bird but the least interesting bands to me were the ones like Tesla, Firehouse, etc. Those bands I've seen plenty of times and can catch touring all over the US. I did watch one Tesla set and they were fantastic as usual but skipped their other to go see Tokyo Motor Fist instead. They're a band that has only played 5 shows ever so much tougher to get to see them. They did a mixture of their own songs, Danger Danger and Trixter songs so that was a fun set. I do have to say that during Tesla's set that they had Rick Allen come out and play along on drums during their final song. That was a great moment. Overall though, I'm just on cloud 9. Was fantastic getting to see so many bands that I've never seen before or that are very difficult to see otherwise. Back from the Monsters Of Rock Cruise and wow, what an experience that was. Bit of an admins outing last night as I travelled up to Sheffield to see Ultimate Leppard along with martyd They were surprisingly pretty good, they have clearly worked hard on getting the song arrangements down well, even throwing in a version of Rocket I’ve never heard before, single edit with the extended live version solo. Overall I’d say these are another tribute band well worth catching if you get the chance. Plus to top it off I got the chance to have a long old chat with a like minded fellow fan too. Overall a great night. They played the following (I may have the order wrong) have I missed anything Marty? Women Another hit and run Too late for love Animal Hysteria Let’s get rocked Love bites Make love like a man Wasted Switch 625 Stagefright Rocket When love and hate collide Gods of war Armageddon it Pour some sugar on me Let it go Rock of ages Photograph

And I agree with what you’ve said, they were very impressive. In particular the lead singer, without necessarily trying to sound like Joe Elliott, was very strong in his own right. Good times :-)

Good times :-) I think the only odd point of the set was the delivery of the Armageddon It verses, which were seemed to be sung in a different key and phrased totally differently than how it should be. Other than that they did a very good job, it looked to me like they had even gone to the trouble of sequencing tracks that were running behind them to add in the necessary keyboards on tracks like WLAHC, ROA and Women. As well as the effects for GOW too.

You're right about Armageddon It - wasn't the comment at the time that it was like Bret Michaels doing Armageddon It They also had created some kind of custom swirling wind effect for the start of Too Late For Love. It wasn't taken straight from the album, but it was a good recreation. Those little touches do make a big difference IMO.

I've really missed the Download festival this year. Over the weekend messages were going back and forth between myself and the friends I go with.... "we would be on the way now".... "We'd be watching Kiss now"........ "Maiden would be on now".......... "This time last year we were watching Leppard at Download". Plus Download TV had a load of archive content on over the weekend too, so I sat through an hours worth of Leppard songs and interviews from their 2019 appearance.
