I'm a big fan of their debut album and will be getting the new one soon. Funny you mention WS, when I saw them live last year they did a cover of Fool for you Loving. The singer has a great range, and believe it or not was a failed contestant on a couple of reality singing shows:

The singer has a great range, and believe it or not was a failed contestant on a couple of reality singing shows: i heard their 2nd album first and it's killer so i bought their first one and they do not disappoint. Well produced, the singer is a monster. Great stuff.

Took me a bit to warm up to at first...mostly just warming up to it not being Jani. I think these guys deserve some credit for pushing on like they have though. Perfect, Let It Go and Faded are my favs...don't mind most of the rest either though. The only songs I'm really not caring much for are the ballad and the country cover song. In some years this might've been among my favorite albums but with so many good releases this year it'll probably fall through the cracks a bit. Maybe it can make my top 10... Now really looking forward to H.e.a.t, Degreed and Station which should all be coming at some point later this year I also listened on a whim based on feedback I'm seeing and your post. It's not bad. I really dig PERFECT. Their version of LET IT GO isn't half bad either. I really like the 80s stuff from the band. Tried the album after reading your replies here. Some is good, but overall id give it an "just okay" from me...

Just forced my way through the latest Linkin Park album on YouTube (didn't spend money on this, thankfully). I'll never fault a band for trying a new sound, but that doesn't mean I have to like it! This just wreaks of trying to blend with today's pop music. I was happy when they had returned to more of a rock sound on their last album The Hunting Party but that is looooooong gone on this new one. Thankfully it was only 35 minutes long. How the mighty have fallen. Their debut album is still one of the greatest rock debutalbums of all times. This is not rock anymore.... Songs like Heavy are good ofcourse and i like it, but it has nothing to do with rock n roll anymore...

Watched they Foo Fighters concert yesterday at The Cheese and Grain. They were live on Facebook 🤘😁. Wow!! I wish I would have known about that. Foo Fighters are on my bucket list to see in concert.....but I don't know if they'd ever get close to Nebraska again. I hope you enjoyed it! ~Robbie

Live Forever from the Manchester One Love concert, Liam Gallagher and Chris Martin, hairs on back of neck standing up!
Acoustic version of Times Like These Dave Grohl, heard this just after September 11, 2001, very uplifting.
One Mary J Blige, best vocal ever!

2017 for me is becoming one of the best years I've seen for new music (half the year still left!)...very welcome after what I would consider a terrible 2016.
Always been a casual Nickelback fan, and wasn't sure what to expect after their last album which I thought was by and large pretty awful. I was optimistic after really enjoying the first single FEED THE MACHINE. Their new album out today is quite good. Probably the hardest sounding album they've done...and a polar opposite of where they had been with the last album. THE BETRAYAL is almost a full blown metal track (even with the Metallica style melodic intro on display).

Ive been one of the people calling them awfull before, but i really have no proper reason when i reflect upon it. ok, do i dont like How you remind med. But i guess people theres people that dont like PSSOM. No reason to hate the band because of that song. So i just decided to buy the new album on itunes in spite. I like the album and it is no way near as awfull as media is trying to write. Some ballads and alot of harder songs that kinda suprised me. I will from this day stop saying that nickelback is bad. Edit: The betrayal most be one of the cooles songs ive heard from this band. Hard and tight. Check it out.

I also have to say that i like the new paramore album.
I was a big fan of the Riot! album, but felt they lost the magic after that. The two albums after was not good enough imo. But the latest album i think is good.

GnR 'Appetite for Destruction', simply a timeless classic rock album. Not many bands are this good on a debut album.
Electric Boys 'Groovus Maximus' special edition, this was hardly off my cd deck in the early 90s. Dusted it off again as its the albums 25th anniversary and they are playing it in its entirity later this year.
I've also dug out my Iron Maiden The First Ten Years CD collection, thats going in to the car next and I'm looking forward to going through that. For those that don't know it was a re-release of every single from (as the title suggests) their first ten years as a band complete with all the b-sides and a bonus interview on every single with Nicko.

I wouldn't call Nickelback one of my favorite bands, but I never understood the huge backlash they've received over the years - a lot of it I think is misguided. As a successful rock band in today's and age (which is a rarity) you would think they would get more public support. Perhaps this album is a bit of a response to it as it's significantly harder edged than their last couple releases. I also really enjoy FOR THE RIVER - great riff.

These guys remind me of Whitesnake ... their new single is great. Inglorious "Taking the Blame" (Official Music Video) Got to listen to this a few times today, finally. Really good. His voice is slightly Graham Bonnet/Dave from Y&T esque. Need to see this band live.

Apart from Leppard I've been discovering 70's Deep Purple, and enjoying Tesla's Psychotic Supper. Sond and Emotion is a terrific tribute track to Steve Clark.
I try to pop on some Alter Bridge too at the moment here and there.

Has anyone else noticed that Def Leppard currently has 5 Music Videos in the top 30 on iTunes. The music video for Women is at #10 on the chart. People are spending the $1.99 for the video to hear the album version of their songs, being that they cannot buy their albums on iTunes. Anyway, I thought that was pretty cool
