Listened to the soundtrack to Bohemian Rhapsody. Flows very nicely too. So much so this last couple of days I listened to Queens entire back catalogue in order. I've only ever heard the singles and the Flash soundtrack before. What a strange band, I didn't think they were so eclectic. Most of it isn't my cup of tea as half of it at least is piano driven. But it really surprised me what they are really like. In many ways the singles are some of the odd ones out on the albums and are so obviously single material. I'm at the Kind of Magic album now, but the whole thing comes to a grinding halt at the Hot Space album a few years earlier which is some kind of euro pop, what a departure from everything else. Enjoying listening to them so far though to be honest.

Gonna chill on my day off and listen to Black Stone Cherry. They write some great songs. Great things are ahead for them. Saw these for the first time ten years ago supporting the Leps on the SFTSL tour and since then they've progressed to an arena band in this country. This year they were second on the bill at Download to GnR and the progression in quality of their music and visual presentation was such an improvemnt from when I last saw then about 6 years ago. The UK seems to have taken to them, not sure how big they are in the US though, are they arena status there?

Listening to all 3 Album from Whiskey Myers. It reminds me of Def Leppard wrote an Album full of songs that sounded like Wings of an Angel.

Hitting the alt-rock / indie-rock scene quite a bit lately. Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness. Pretty chill stuff. "So Close" is also fun.

I'm discovering Treat and their entire catalog. I briefly listened to this band when their last album TUNGUSKA came out and quickly passed...not sure what happened but I gave them another chance and it really clicked this time. They've also been around a long time so I must've been living under a rock. Very Leppardesque with the vocal melodies and guitar hooks. Starting to get that new material itch (would love a couple new Lep tracks in particular in the HYSTERIA/STAND UP vein) and this is filling the void somewhat nicely.
On the other end of the spectrum been catching up with the band LIVE as their new EP came out last month. EP unfortunately pretty so-so but it gave me a reason to re-listen to their catalog...still really dig their first 4 albums, and they sound quite good live these days as they've added another guitarist who accentuates the songs nicely. Hope they show up by me next year.

Mitch Lafon on twitter posted a pic of Ed, Alex and Wolf and above pic it said 2019 and he got the fans in a tizzy. I think it might be about Wolf solo album.

The Deluxe Edition is awesome. There is a video floating around with a guy who rerecorded the entire album and did a great job mixing in the bass. Edit - Metallica - "...And Justice For Jason" Full Album (AJFA with enhanced Bassline)

Been listening to Cheap Trick the last few hours. It amazes me that a band with such a catalog is still opening when they certainly have the songs to Headline.

Listening to the Ded Flatbird sets from vegas. I still get chills when i hear Good Morning Freedom and i remember for the 1st time even if for a few seconds i had no idea what song was being played. Looking around and the look of shock and confusion... and after the fact Joe knowing he had gotten the die hards real good. One of my fav memories of that Residency.

Just thought I'd share my top 5 albums for 2018 which shows what I've been listening a lot to this year when I'm not listening to Leppard Pretty much all these albums are just melodic rock/hard rock that all mostly seem to have 80's influences in their sound. Hey, I know what I like and stick to it 1. Midnite City - There Goes The Neighbourhood 2. Kissin' Dynamite - Ecstasy 3. Shiraz Lane - Carnival Days 4. Treat - Tunguska 5. Maverick - Cold Star Dancer Others getting a lot of play this year: W.e.t - Earthrage Nordic Union - Second Coming Nirtate - Real world Station - More Than The Moon Hearts on Fire - Call Of Destiny Halestorm - Vicious
