Yesterday I was too distracted by the video and wasn't overly impressed by the song. But last night I bought the mp3 and I like it much better without the video haha. Probably not as good as Party like tomorrow is the end of the world, but still good!

I'm thinking the real highlights will be among the album tracks, which was the case for me with Balls Out. As much as I like "17 Girls In A Row" and "Just Like Tiger Woods" I think many of the album cuts are way better.

This is "my other favorite band" that I refer to on here alot. I have tickets to their show in KC in May, can't friggin wait. This will be my 2nd time seeing them. I have saved all of my Christmas money to take my wife to see them and Def Leppard this year.
Mark Tremonti is just a face melting guitarist. And vocally, there are few better than Myles Kennedy. Can't praise the musicianship enough. The new album Fortress is amazing. I go running to it every other day. The rest of their catalogue is great too. Some songs to check out...
- Blackbird (Guitar magazing called the solo the best of all time, high praise even if it's arguable) - Watch Over You - Isolation - Ghost of Days Gone By - Cry of Achilles - Lover

For whatever reason I've always liked Alter Bridge but their albums have never had a lasting impression on me. With that said I really dig Fortress. Probably my favorite Alter Bridge record. Cry of Achilles is indeed a monster of a song. That little guitar interlude/solo in the middle of Bleed It Dry is also amazing. Lover, Calm the Fire, All Ends Well and Fortress have gotten quite a few listens as well.
The only album I enjoyed more last year (of new music) was Alice in Chains.

I really loved their first album from back in 2006. That album i still listen to all these years later...Killer album.
Imo the band hasnt managed to keep upping their standards since then, but they are still a great band...

Listening to the The Burden of Being Wonderful on the radio right now. Not impressed. Sounds like they are toning it down just to get on the radio.

This 3rd album will be a big test of where they're at. I think their UK tour has sold out at a lot of venues and they're 3rd on the bill at download in the summer too. At the moment they aren't doing too bad.

Maybe now we can get some Def Leppard hot dogs and/or hamburgers to go along with the Kiss buns. And veggie patties, for certain band members...

In case anyone didn't hear this yet: AEROSMITH, SLASH, SET TO ANNOUNCE 2014 TOUR: Two of hard rock’s legendary acts are teaming up for a 2014 U.S. summer tour, as Aerosmith will hit the road with Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The news was revealed Friday (March 21) via tweets from members of Aerosmith, as well as Slash himself. It doesn’t get much bigger than Aerosmith and Slash when it comes to American hard rock. Aerosmith have recorded some of the biggest rock hits on the planet, while Slash achieved mammoth success as a member of Guns N’ Roses. Both acts are known for their down and dirty, raw approach to rock ‘n’ roll. Aerosmith’s most recent album is 2012′s ‘Music From Another Dimension,’ but you can be sure the band will be playing their classic hits like ‘Dream On,’ ‘Walk This Way’ and ‘Sweet Emotion.’ Slash, meanwhile, is getting ready to release his next album with his bandmates Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The guitarist revealed during South By Southwest that the disc is expected to arrive in September, while Kennedy tweeted out a couple days ago that he just completed the album’s first vocal. While no dates have been announced yet for the Aerosmith / Slash 2014 U.S. tour, both acts have confirmed the news via Tweets from Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and drummer Joey Kramer, as well as a Tweet from Slash. Check out those Tweets, as well as Myles Kennedy’s update on the new Slash album: Read More: Aerosmith + Slash Set to Announce 2014 U.S. Tour | loudwire.com/aerosmith-slash-2014-u-s-tour/?trackback=tsmclip

I'm there. Aerosmith has never disappointed me with a touring partner.
Haven't seen Slash since seeing Velvet Revolver in 2004, so I look forward to hearing things from throughout his career.

Slash and his band put on a great show, and when you go to see him live it makes you realise how many great rock songs he's been involved in. Not just the obvious GnR songs, but his solo material and also the Velvet Revolver stuff too.

I saw Slash and his band open for DL last year in NH. It was cool to hear some of the GnR stuff as well as Velvet Revolver. Slash can definitely play the guitar and Myles can sing! This would be a good show! Haven't seen Aerosmith since Lenny Kravitz was opening.

Despite not being impressed by their attempt to make sure they can be played on the radio with The Burden of Being Wonderful, I've ordered the new album today so I should get that on Monday.

Although British band Magnum is active since 1972 I was never realy aware aware of their music. I was aware that they are vey active since reformation in 2002 but lost them among other rock and melodic music that I follow a lot(Of course DL, Tesla, Seventh Key, Pretty Maids, Elefante....) , Then few weeks ago I got a chance to listen in fUll to their album On the 13th day (2012) and this time it just clicked. I ordered last few albums.Especially the albums from 2007 on, they are all great, hardly a bad song there. As a fan of epic Leppard songs I liked that their songs are often around 6 or 7 minutes, are very melodic, good choruses and strong guitar riffs. Now the guitar work is not so good as in DL but it serves the songs well. The records are greatly produced and you cant go wrong with any album since 2007 : Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow(2007), Into the Valley of Moonking(2009), The Visitation(2011), On the 13th day(2012) or just released Escape from the Shadow Garden. That is five quality albums, while our bellowed Leppard released only Sparkle Lounge and 3 addition new songs. And Magnum boys are nearly 70 yers old! BTW, I like only some of Magnum hits form the 80, but this latest stuff sounds much better.
Some sound bites: Heavy and melodic

I saw Magnum live back in 1992, they were very good. If I remember correctly Wings of Heaven and Goodnight LA were their biggest albums in the late 80's early 90's.

Love me some Magnum. They're virtually unknown here in America. While none of their albums would qualify as a bona-fide 'all time classic' in my book, almost all of their work has several excellent and memorable songs on it. 'On A Storyteller's Night', 'Vigilante' and 'Wings of Heaven' are my three favorite albums of theirs, but there's worthwhile stuff on the other ones too. I'm currently in the process of making my way through their post reformation catalog, and it's pretty good, but I don't know about it being on quite the same level as their best classic work.

On first couple of listens its not as immediate as the first 2 albums. The single has grown on me a bit with that orchestral riff, (I must be going soft in my old age). I would say that off the bat these have jumped out as being decent:
4. Bukkake Tears 5. Gangbang At The Old Folks Home 6. Ten Strikes You’re Out 7. The Burden Of Being Wonderful 11. If I Was The King 12. She’s On The Rag

I can't wait to pick this up. Could have downloaded it last night but I said screw that, so I'm picking up the deluxe edition after work tonight. Fully expecting to enjoy album cuts more than the singles as I have for the most part with the previous two albums.
I agree on TBOBW, the orchestrated riff drew me in quite a bit at first.
