To me, it seems the whole world puts Bon Jovi on a pedestal and compares them to a modern day Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc. Well they might’ve been 20 years ago. But they did not age like a fine wine should have. I would be very disappointed if DL went on tour with them. It’s no longer a great match up. I would rather see them with the Foreigner cover band than BJ.

Couldn't agree more. I have zero desire to see them with BJ.....There was a time I'd have thought that was amazing but that ship has sailed. Ultimately, I feel like everything Def Leppard has done has always basically been trying to build themselves up toward their goal of being one of the best bands in history...like their idols Queen for example. Well, like others have said, this bands popularity now is probably as high as it's been since their heyday. I feel like they've done all the right things and it's time for them to stake their claim as a pure headliner. If Guns and Roses can tour on their own as a headliner, this band surely can too. I want to see them going on their own and playing as the clear headliner with 120+ minute sets. They can still make it a great show by adding an opening like Tesla, Skid Row, Night Ranger, etc....But keep Leppard as the headliner and give us some meatier sets. I guess we'll see but part of me thinks it's a pipedream and the band will most likely do another package tour of some sort. I mean, I get it...They get to play to huge crowds and only need to be on stage for 75 minutes. It's basically a win/win for the band but hope they realize it's not great for the die hard Leppard fans. I mean, I definitely don't get excited about paying big dollars for tickets and having to sit through bands I don't really want to see to see my favorite band play a 75 minute greatest hits set.....again. Hopefully there's an announcement of next years plans soon though. There's lots of stuff starting to come out in terms of tours, festivals, etc and trying to figure out how to allocate my budget and time off plans! To me, it seems the whole world puts Bon Jovi on a pedestal and compares them to a modern day Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc. Well they might’ve been 20 years ago. There is a pending announcement tomorrow for Atlantic Canada (Halifax & Moncton). Those were the first two stops in 2019.

There's no way on earth Def Leppard should be supporting anyone. I can't see them wanting to do this either. While they're humble and down to earth, their status is important to them - you can see how proud they've been of this stadium tour and they clearly enjoy the narrative of "we've been round for 45 years and this is the biggest tour we've done." They'll want to keep this momentum going and while it might not necessarily be more stadiums, being another band's warm-up is surely bottom of the list of things they'd want to do. 101% this.

Two of the three bands aren’t stadium worthy anymore.

If it is Journey they’re already on tour with Toto in the first half of the year, so I wonder if Leps have anything else planned in that time?

Neal Schon slipped that info months ago, don't know why you are surprised I think the fact that Journey announced dates for the first half of the year got people’s hopes up that they wouldn’t be touring with them.

I am as excited for this as I am about taking the last bar chick home when lights come up 😂 Agreed. I don't mind Cheap Trick but I have no interest in seeing Steve Miller Band. And my hatred of Journey (especially Neal) is well documented. Again all three bands are a generation before Lep so outside the 'classic rock' designation, it's a bit of a strange bill as if Lep showed up at the wrong party. Last year I shockingly came around to Poison since even though they are a huge joke, they're at least a fun joke. Journey is, to me, boring as sh it. I will admit to liking a whopping three of their songs but live they put me to sleep. The 2018 tour featured what, three limp Neal Schonn guitar solos in an 80 minute set? If they can't fill 80 minutes, they need to be cut down to 60 and then Lep needs to play 105-110 per night. But we know Neal's ego wouldn't allow that or his precious guitar solos to be cut. I'm really sick of this Groundhog Day like rotation of Journey/Poison and hope we never have to suffer through Crue again (though history shows it will probably happen). Especially at this stage of the band's career. Pissing away time coheadlining with bands I despise. If Lep has a proper, longer (again 105-110 minutes per night) headline-like set, I'll be ok with it. If it's another 80 minute coheadlining rotation like 2018, I'll keep my costs to a minimum again. I won't skip a tour at this point in their career, but I will skip shows and spend accordingly. Especially in stadiums, which are horrible for shows. An all around pain in the ass for subpar views and sound. Now where's that damn Pyromania box set?

It’s starting to look like Europe first with the Norway June 6th ‘leek’, then the US ‘leeks’ for August/September with Journey and Cheap Trick. This makes a change. Maybe we’ll get some UK dates or then again might it be a sole Download festival appearance? I sincerely hope not. UK arenas, yes please!!!!

Sadly, have to agree. I kind of reluctantly went to the last tour with Journey and already have seen Leppard tour with Journey more than I ever needed to. It's hard to believe some sharp minds sat in a room and this was the best they could come up with. Will it be called the Deja Vu Tour? They've certainly been there and done that already. This would probably rank as my most disappointing Leppard tour announcement if it turns out to be true (hopefully it's fake news lol!). I mean, even Leppard and Tripping Daisy was much better back in 1996 as at least we knew Leppard was the headliner playing for 2 hours. For a band that usually makes moves to push them forward, I feel like this is mostly a step backwards. Oh well. On the bright side, at least they're still healthy and touring at all. But I'll be hoping there's a Residency of some sort either early in the year or later in the year to give us die hards something to look forward to. Easy pass. No interest in seeing Journey for a third time.

Can they not just play arena's again on their own, with a decent support? Oh and maybe concentrate on their home country a bit too? Yes I realise I am moaning about things not yet known & may well have eat humble pie very soon but come on. They last played arena's in 2018 here in the UK. I have no interest whatsoever in going to a stadium gig and seeing bands I have no interest in. Just gimme Def Leppard!
