Anyone applied for a presale code for the show itself and got a code through yet? I haven’t. Also, if I used the link through the store to just purchase, but live in the U.S., will I get a presale code? I can’t imagine there will be any tickets left after the presale. I just re-purchased through the UK site just in case 🙃

Two things of note in this email: 1. Receipt of a pre-sale code by purchasing Drastic Symphonies is UK only. 2. Receiving a pre-sale code only guarantees the opportunity to buy tickets during the pre-sale. It does not guarantee you will actually get tickets. i.e., if 1000 people have a pre-sale code, it's certain that not everyone will get tickets since the venue capacity is 850.

Got my presale code through tonight. Looks like a random jumble of letters and numbers. Doesn’t look like anything standard like previous presale codes.

Is anyone planning to travel over for this show or is it really only open to UK residents only?

What a joke. As soon as it was live I input my code and selected 2 tickets. Immediately it said they couldnt fulfill my order and they went to showing as unavailable. Ridiculous. Within 5 seconds too.

I can't believe how poorly this has been organised, i was there on the second and put my code in, i get "Sorry, we were not able to allocate the tickets you requested. Please change your selections."
This is for 2 tickets, how on earth it is physically possible to sell out within 2 seconds of the pre-sale going on, nobody can checkout that fast.

Within 5 seconds too. My experience was identical, Andy. I really wonder how many/what % of tickets were made available for presale and how many will be kept for general sale?

Just to reiterate, 2 seconds after putting in the code and asking for 2 tickets it says tickets unavailable.
The link then reappears twice with the option of getting tickets, both times again within 2 seconds "tickets unavailable".
Now 45 mintutes later....
GENERAL ADMISSION £71.50 (£65.00) Presale sold out
How on earth is it possible to sell this out within 5 seconds, is this scalpers or bots buying up the tickets then or something because how do you checkout within 5 seconds, including putting in your address, name, etc.
Talk about disappointed.

Very disappointed

90% i'd say, nobody on earth can checkout that fast.
Another thing that really annoyed me is that i'd pre-ordered the album to gain pre-sale access and then on the website in small print with an asterisk it said that "no purchase" necessary.
I mean wasn't this supposed to be only for people who had pre-ordered the album?
Nobody else notice this?

Its like these regular competitions on radio that ask you to text in, which obviously charges you, but on the websites they have links to enter by email too.

Well, it being on Facebook and elsewhere that this was a condition of the pre-sale access was to pre-order the album from the official def leppard store to then make it "no purchase" required seems like you're getting album sales giving you something unique but then saying anyone can have access to the pre-sale, how fair is that?

Initially they'll want to drum up album sales and promote it, but they'll probably argue that to make it fair to those that have already ordered or fans that just want to go, that it has to also be a no purchase necessary pre-sale too. I think its a legal obligation too.

It's the wrong way to treat your own fans in my opinion.
..and the other downside is that then you have to compete against people who didn't even buy the album to have access to the pre-sale, hence why we never stood a chance at getting tickets as well as trying to figure out how it sold out in 5 seconds, it's just not right, any of it.

Message I got from the leadmill:
Hi Andy,
The SeeTickets web page randomly allocates those that were in the queue at 9am to go through to the buying page.
This meant that those that weren't randomly selected to go through to the buying stage would've seen a message saying that 'promo/registration tickets are currently unavailable', as those that were randomly selected had already put tickets in their baskets.
Our presale allocation is currently sold out, however we will have more on sale tomorrow morning at 9am.
Kind regards Team Leadmill

Well this is an absolute load of BS.
We were told we'd have a chance of a pre-sale access ticket purchase, not that our baskets would be randomly selected by software to go through, like mugs we'd all thought first come first served.
So we've just bought expensive lottery tickets, or some others didn't even pay at all for this fiasco.

We did have a chance, just a small chance. For all we know they could have sold 10 times the amount of albums / free entry codes than there were actual tickets available. What they've told me there is probably what every piece of ticket software does for the pre-sale of tickets, its just that we didn't know it as its not publicised as being the reason why some people get in whilst others don't.

If i'd have wanted an exclusive pre-sale event i wouldn't have organized it this way.
Certainly not making the condition of a pre-order part of getting the code, then it being available to anyone and everyone in the UK without buying a thing.
I can't see any justification to how this has been run, the tickets might be allocated in the way you've said, but if we'd been only competing against pre-order buyers instead of the whole of the UK it might have made some difference, who knows.

Yikes! When did buying concert tickets become so convoluted. complicated, and apparently, far from transparent? I've been following all your discussions surrounding 'dynamic pricing', and like many other commercial concerns these days, the welfare of the punter/customer seems of little concern to the powers that be. Like Phil, I'll be retiring to my Chomsky and hoping some of you fine people over there in the UK get lucky with this. My commiserations to those of you who don't.

When I tried for tickets in 2018 for the Manchester Hysteria show I had a similar issue. Had a presale code, entered it and got told tickets were sold out.
I feel for you all who tried today and wish you good luck. Personally I think these are way overpriced for a club gig (charity or not) when they’re on tour in major venues for a few months and could easily donate from one of those shows.

Not many things frustrate me more these days than buying concert tickets. Between brokers that make buying and reselling concert tickets their full-time job and ticketmaster's dynamic pricing and platinum seats, real fans barely have a chance to get decent, reasonably priced seats these days. And that's before the first 20 rows at most shows are mostly some kind of VIP package. Fans are usually left trying to join concert clubs or jump through other hoops just to have a chance at presale tickets but all that usually gets you is the chance to buy the extremely marked up VIP/Platinum tickets or nosebleed seats. I can even imagine trying to land tickets to see Def Leppard in an 850 seat venue! Yikes! When did buying concert tickets become so convoluted. complicated, and apparently, far from transparent? I've been following all your discussions surrounding 'dynamic pricing', and like many other commercial concerns these days, the welfare of the punter/customer seems of little concern to the powers that be.
