www.defleppard.com/def-leppard-live-at-the-leadmill-sheffield/Gig To Be Livestreamed Via Veeps. In what will be one of the live events of 2023, Def Leppard are coming home! On the eve of the bands biggest ever European tour and the launch of new album, “Drastic Symphonies”, Def Leppard are set to play a one off club show at the iconic Sheffield venue, The Leadmill. The 850 capacity venue will be treated to a must see performance from one of Britain’s greatest ever rock bands. It will be a huge night for fans of the band who get the chance to hear the bands extraordinary stadium style catalogue in a club setting. It will be the most intimate show the band have played in the UK or Europe in 35 years. The setlist will be for one night only – unique to this show and different to the setlist the band will play three days later, when they start the UK and European tour at a SOLD OUT Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane on Monday 22nd May 2023. The band are looking to shine a light on The Leadmill, a vital part of the Sheffield and national UK music scene and is amongst many of the small UK music venues threatened with closure. Net proceeds from ticket sales from The Leadmill show will be donated to Music Venue Trust who diligently work to help struggling UK music venues. Joe Elliott says “Sheffield is in the very DNA of this band! We are ecstatic to be starting the European leg of our world tour at home at Bramall Lane! When thinking of a warm up, it made sense to do a special set at The Leadmill, in the city where it all started. We know there are a lot of small music venues struggling across the UK, so we wanted to give back to what gave to us. The net proceeds from the evening will go directly to Music Venue Trust in an effort to keep UK clubs alive…and to coincide with the release of our symphonic record, “Drastic Symphonies”, on the 19th of May. It’s all very special!”

Definitely interested in the Veeps live stream, i will be heading up to Sheffield on Monday for the stadium show so this would be great to see via my living room. With no 3rd band announced for the Sheffield gig i do hope it means we may get a longer than usual Leppard set for this show.

Sheffield's Def Leppard announce hometown show at LeadmillDef Leppard have announced they will play "an incredibly intimate hometown" show at Sheffield's Leadmill. The rock group will perform to an 850-strong crowd at the venue on 19 May, before embarking on a European tour, which opens at Bramall Lane on 22 May. Formed in Sheffield in 1976, the band said a portion of the ticket sales would go to the Music Venue Trust's work to support grassroot venues. Lead singer Joe Elliott said it promised to be a "very special" night. "Sheffield is in the very DNA of this band," he said. "We are ecstatic to be starting the European leg of our world tour at home at Bramall Lane [and] when thinking of a warm-up, it made sense to do a special set at The Leadmill, in the city where it all started. "We know there are a lot of small music venues struggling across the UK, so we wanted to give back to what gave to us." He said the net proceeds from the evening would go directly to Music Venue Trust "in an effort to keep UK clubs alive". Ben Hartley, from the Leadmill, said the show - Def Leppard's first at the venue - would add "another chapter to Sheffield's musical history". "The fact that a local act that has gone on to play stadiums across the world is willing to come back home and support us in a time of need - as well as thousands of other integral grassroots venues across the UK- speaks volumes of their character," he added. Mark Davyd, CEO and founder of the Music Venue Trust, said: "The UK's grassroots music venues are facing an incredibly tough year, currently one is permanently closing every week. "It's going to take a huge collective effort to turn that around and it's so important that artists get involved and lead the fight we need to stop closures." The Leadmill gig will coincide with the release of the band's record, Drastic Symphonies, on 19 May. It also comes after drummer Rick Allen was attacked outside a hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in March. Allen, who lost an arm in a car accident in 1984, recently told fans on Instagram: "Thank you all so very much for all of your love and support over the last month. I am still recovering and getting my mind and body ready for the upcoming Def Leppard tour." Source

Grabbed as ticket for the streaming event. Although it looks like I can't watch it until May 20th based on the info I was sent. I'm just eager to see what a 'unique' setlist means.

I’m going to watch the streaming too. It’s my son’s prom night, and I’m chauffeuring for him that night. Now I got something to watch between chauffeuring. Lol His school is not allowing the students to drive. I might rent a chauffeur’s outfit.

lol...for those in the UK..3cdt..assuming LATE streaming in the USA?..😁 Rob Show starts a 4PM ET in the US. This is from the e-mail I received after purchasing the ticket: "One Night Only" - Live At The Leadmill, May 20, 2023 – 8:00 AM +12. I was not going to be able to watch a live stream thanks to work hours anyway. But it looks like I can't watch until 8PM ET (8AM +12) on Saturday if I'm understanding correctly. Looking forward to it either way whenever it's available for me to view.

Livestream says show is 60 minutes. Do we think that is just the livestream and actual gig will be longer or the whole gig is actually just 60 minutes?

While it's a shame it's not at least a 90 minute set, it's great to see them playing a small venue and awesome that they are live streaming it which is something I've always wanted to see them do (it was a blast to catch Metallica's 40th anniversary shows this way). If all goes well hopefully we will get more opportunities to see livestream shows in some capacity down the line.
What a special night for those that get to see this live.

Whilst I'm not expecting a full 90 min set, I'm also not convinced that its going to be limited to 60 minutes. They said the same for the Islington 2008 show and they came back out and did an extra couple of tracks as an encore.

Anyone applied for a presale code for the show itself and got a code through yet? I haven’t. Also, if I used the link through the store to just purchase, but live in the U.S., will I get a presale code? I can’t imagine there will be any tickets left after the presale.
