Okay so after seeing the track listing & backside picture, I’m definitely getting the feeling that this album will be darker/harder than the self titled. BUT, I’m not sure yet how I feel about guest vocals on a lepp record. It was not something I expected, though I’ll reserve any and all judgement until the whole record is out and I give it many listens!

I was as bothered as anybody by Tim McGraw guesting on Nine Lives but I think what bothered me is that I mostly didn't think he added anything to the song that Joe couldn't have done himself. In this case though, it might be interesting to hear and think a female guest could easily bring something different to the mix and add to the song. Okay so after seeing the track listing & backside picture, I’m definitely getting the feeling that this album will be darker/harder than the self titled. This is from Amazon Japan. Looks like the release date is May 27th. I didn't think they'd go with that since it's a holiday weekend in the US. Of course, there could be a different release date in the US and other locations.  |

So very cool!!! Hoping for a darker kinda album. Alison Krauss had a song on the Twister soundtrack from 1996 called Moments Like This. A haunting kinda ballad that I really liked. I know she is country but I really think she could work well with Joe's vocals.

Alison’s amazing. “Raising Sand” that she did with Robert Plant is one of my all time favorite albums. I didn’t care for their second album. |

I feel like I read somewhere where Joe actually interviewed her back in the 90s and she was like a super fan. So the respect has been there. Tbh it’s the outside of the box stuff like this, that makes it exciting. She has a great voice and can harmonize something amazing! |
