Just checking to see if there’s something wrong with the board. I find it hard to believe there’s been no posts for 12 hours. Nope, board is slow on the weekends. We had huge numbers earlier in the new week

They say this is an Irish exclusive but I’m not convinced it’s different to the one that was listed last week on all the other record selling sites. Unless someone knows differently? Doesn't look any different from the one they are selling on the official Def Lepppard merchandise page. Kestrel

So I’m still kind of stuck on the fact that they have references to Pyromania and High n Dry on the album cover. What are the chances we get any song(s) in the vein of those albums? So far I’m getting the idea from all these interviews that it’ll be a “def leppard-sounding” record with a 70’s/glam overtone. I hope it’ll be as diverse as the self-titled cd!

It's hard to say with this band! I think it's safe to say it'll be diverse. Maybe those Pyro and HND references are just suggesting the band feels like they threw back their mindset a bit on this album? I doubt there will be HND or Pyro sounding songs but to me Kick definitely has a throwback sound of sorts to it and feels like a song that could've been from Hysteria/Adrenalize era Def Leppard. It's tough to draw any conclusions from one song though as we've seen in the past that one song may not be overly representative of the album. I mean, I don't think songs like Slang, Nine Lives and Let's Go were overly representative of their respective albums as I look back on them. We shall see. I remain encouraged though by all the effort that seems to have went into this album and hoping all this talk about throwing back to their influences results in a classic "Def Leppard sounding" album. So I’m still kind of stuck on the fact that they have references to Pyromania and High n Dry on the album cover. What are the chances we get any song(s) in the vein of those albums? To me a classic sounding Def Leppard album is something like Hysteria or Pyromania that has a defined style throughout instead of being quite eclectic (like the 2015 album was). Personally I think that DSH will be a continuation of the last album. Looking forward to it.

Yeah sounds like it. Would love a classic sounding album but it just isn't going to happen. And the guys have earned the right to put out what they want. I loved the self-titled album (apart from a couple like Energized), but there is always a good mix, so always some good songs!

It just struck me as odd that they’d pick those 2 albums to incorporate into the album cover. Either way, I’m beyond excited! I pre-ordered 3 different versions of the album, and I’ll buy it on itunes as well. I guess I’m just racing with thoughts because this album has me very intrigued since they kept so hush hush about it!

Personally I think that DSH will be a continuation of the last album. Looking forward to it. This makes sense, and I can agree a classic Leppard album definitely has continuity throughout, but after the 2015 album, I wouldn't want them going back to one solid sound for an album. They have had many albums that have had one "defined style" and they are great! However, if they do that again, it'll just be a HnD, Slang, or Pyromania part 2. I love that their self titled album is self titled because I agree that's what Def Leppard is at this point, they are hard rock (Wings of an Angel,) classic rock (Dangerous, All Time High,) ballads (We Belong, Last Dance,) and so much more. Because they've done so much, I personally get very excited for experimental/different sounding songs from them. This album seems clearly to be heavily inspired by their own inspirations, but from what I've read, I'm getting SFTSL, Self Titled, and Yeah vibes with a sprinkle of Slang, and I could be wrong, but I'm excited as can be. In fact, I kinda hope I'm wrong, I love when the band surprises me!

May 27th is actually becoming quite loaded from an entertainment perspective. New Leppard, long awaited Top Gun sequel and long awaited Obi Wan TV series first 2 episodes all come out now on this date. I'm definitely taking the day off.

Fire It Up - 3:19 (Phil Collen, Sam Hollander) 4. This Guitar [feat. Alison Krauss] - 3:50 (Phil Collen, CJ Vanston) 5. SOS Emergency - 3:25 (Phil Collen, Joe Elliott) 6. Liquid Dust - 4:01 (Phil Collen) 7. U Rok Mi - 3:33 (Phil Collen) 8. Goodbye For Good This Time [feat. Mike Garson]- 4:27 (Joe Elliott) 9. All We Need - 4:46 (Phil Collen, Joe Elliott) 10. Open Your Eyes - 4:19 (Phil Collen, Joe Elliott) 11. Gimme A Kiss - 3:12 (Phil Collen, Joe Elliott) 12. Angels (Can’t Help You Now) [feat. Mike Garson] - 4:57 (Joe Elliott) 13. Lifeless [feat. From Here To Eternity - 5:37 (Rick Savage) Total = 1:01:27 Interesting that the three songs (Kick, This guitar and Fire it up) that were put on the sticker, being potential singles, also are the only three songs to include outside writers.

Not sure who has seen this new interview with Joe. Lots of good info and talks about some of the songs. He says that Fire It Up, SOS Emergency and Gimme Kiss is more of the typical Def Leppard sounding songs. He does call 'Gimme a Kiss', 'Gimme a Kiss that Rocks'.

He seems pretty confident about the material and it seems they were really on a roll and has some material that they wrote but not recorded yet for future release maybe

Good interview. Sounds like a real mix of an album which concerns me a little (because I love the two songs so far I guess!). Can't wait though.

Same here. For me, the first two songs are as good of a 1-2 punch as we've had to start off an album maybe since their Hysteria/Adrenalize heyday. I'm a little afraid it might get my hopes up a little too high as I'm not sure the songs with Krauss and Garson are going to be as exciting to me but willing to give them a shot. But I'm still very interested to hear Fire It Up, SOS Emergency & Gimmie A Kiss. While U Rok Mi and Liquid Dust also have me curious. And I'm sure a couple of the other songs might take me by surprise. I do wish they would just keep this rock focus of these first two songs over an entire album but that doesn't sound like it's in the cards. But so far the vibe of these new songs is on a different level to me than what I've felt on the past couple albums. Don't get me wrong, I've found some stuff to enjoy on the past couple albums but I've definitely not had anywhere near the level of excitement that I have with these new songs. I guess these new songs just really remind me why I've dug this band so much and it's amazing they can still put stuff like this out after 45 years. Even a few more tunes like these first two could really make for a special album. Good interview. Sounds like a real mix of an album which concerns me a little (because I love the two songs so far I guess!). Can't wait though.

The first two songs have unfortunately not been a good indication of the rest of a DL album for a long time. This will again be a mixed bag. But I'm open for different styles as long as it's rock and there's something holding it together. I have higher hopes for this album than anything this century after hearing these songs, enthusiasm in interviews and Phil mentioning that there's more put into each song than lately. Hopefully no pop experiments/productions or too sappy songs. But as always, it's easy to get caught in new material hype....

I think its going to be a diverse album again. No point anyone building their hopes up looking for for something like a HnD, Pyromania, Hysteria or Adrenalize in its consistency. As long as its got some great songs on it I'm happy.

I think for me that "something" you mention is just that it sounds like Def Leppard. I mean, these 2 singles so far are fairly different from each other style-wise but both sound very much like Def Leppard with the hooks, harmonies, guitars, etc. They are a band that has almost a signature type sound and these first 2 songs have embraced that. I definitely feel the same about the high hopes. I feel like these songs have some attention to detail that maybe hasn't been there as much the past couple albums. And we've certainly seen more put into promotion, artwork, etc. It's like they feel like they have something special here. We shall see but comments I've seen on social media have been overwhelmingly positive on the new tune and it's awesome seeing so many people talking about Def Leppard again Good interview. Sounds like a real mix of an album which concerns me a little (because I love the two songs so far I guess!). Can't wait though.
