I watched a totally different induction ceremony last night on HBO than I saw live in Brooklyn. Equally amazing in their own right. Editing is always a disappointment, but a necessary evil. I got chills and palpitations during both shows.
I hope it becomes available so that every human on the planet can see it.

Good grief! How is that even possible? As for as good...they are a fine-tuned instrument collectively. These folks better go see them live and find out just how "good" they are!

We went to a .38 Special concert the other day, and a local band was the warm-up...the drummer had a decent solo and my daughter leaned over to me and said, "He sure doesn't hold a candle to the one-armed drummer!" I'm like you think? So proud of my daughter for realizing just how great each of these guys are! I couldn't be happier for Def Leppard!

Phil got rave reviews for his abs on Twitter. Lol. A few prudes thought he should cover up.
Chris Jericho from WWE was on video rocking out to Sugar at the ceremony. That got a lot of tweets.
I don’t like that they edited Rick’s moment. That was the defining moment of the entire night.?

I have to laugh, when we went our first of two D/L concerts this past summer, my daughter, seeing Phil's oiled chest close up, said, "Look at the cuts on that 70 year old's chest!" Of course, I had to correct her about his age, but she was definitely impressed by what he was showing us! I have to laugh also, because she immediately started in about Joe too...she has excellent taste!

I don’t like that they edited Rick’s moment. That was the defining moment of the entire night.? I wholeheartedly agree. Going by my phone video from the night, his moment was roughly 2 minutes long (including Joe’s words.) It was a moment full of heart in an award ceremony that (like any industry ceremony) is staged on a backdrop of politicking and heartlessness. It was pure Leppard because it was so warm and utterly REAL. Cut 15 seconds off each of the other segments and let people who weren’t there see the best 2 minutes of the evening.

It literally went on noticably forever and continued to get louder. He didn't weep immediately, it was inevitable because of how the crowd continued and continued more to praise him. It's a shame that will not be seen by everyone.

Even for people who aren't Leppard fans---what other instance in RHOF history can possibly match a one-armed drummer standing with his bandmates of 42 years, receiving an extended ovation for not just surviving but thriving? It was utterly unique. A "made for TV" moment, if you will, akin to a 21st century version of Donington. Bothers me to no end that people who weren't there won't necessarily know about it or see the genuine brotherhood between the guys as they each hug him. I understand the need to edit. In my day job, I'm an editor. But this, in my opinion, was a mistake.

I’m not a fan of The Cure or Trent Reznor. I don’t dislike them. I didn’t see anything that emotional going on with them.

John Taylor from Duran Duran was one of the first people to stand up and applaud Rick. Nice to see that. I do need a joint Duran/Leppard tour. That would make all my teenage fantasies come true. Lol

I finally got around to watching and it was great and yes I cried. I thought Brian's induction speech was good and I thought Joe did a great job speaking for the band. It was great to see them onstage. It was great to see a couple other of my favorite bands get inducted, The Cure and Radiohead. And it was nice to see John and Simon induct Roxy Music. I liked Stevie Nicks induction as well, a lot of Fleetwood Mac history as well as her solo music.

Glad you chased it down Enjoy! I'd suggest watching the part with Rick's standing ovation on YouTube since the broadcast edits it down to nothing like the actual moment.

Really nice quality videos! Thank you! I'm hoping for a similarly hi-def video of Hysteria one of these days. My own copy is unfortunately abysmal or I'd share.
