Chris Cornell's daughter, 12, performs tribute to her late father and Chester Bennington"Toni Cornell, the 12-year-old daughter of late SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell, joined the band ONEREPUBLIC onstage earlier today on ABC's "Good Morning America" to perform the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah". The performance, which can be seen at ABCNews.go.com, was a celebration the lives of Cornell and late LINKIN PARK frontman Chester Bennington, both of whom died earlier this year within months of each other. "It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them," Toni Cornell said. LINKIN PARK was scheduled to perform on "Good Morning America", but ONEREPUBLIC filled in after the former band canceled its tour and concert dates. "This is just an honor to be here," ONEREPUBLIC's Ryan Tedder told "Good Morning America"'s Lara Spencer, adding that he had met Bennington a few times and was friends with Cornell. "I was lucky enough to write and produce with [Chris], and get to know him and his family over the years. He was even in one of our videos." After Cornell died two months ago, Bennington wrote a letter thanking him for inspiring him and hoping he would find peace in "the next life." Chester died on July 20, which would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday. The two singers bonded when they toured together nearly a decade ago." Somebody from one of my favorite 70s bands passed away yesterday and that is Walter Becker from Steely Dan. I've always wanted to see them in concert but never have. Donald Fagen said he is going to continue with the band.

I'm not a mega fan or die hard fan, but I do enjoy a good amount of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers..He always had such great messages in his songs, and it's like everyone could relate. Take it easy Tom

Man, it's been a tough year for so many and in so many ways. I had been wanting to see him in concert for years and had opportunities this year and just didn't get it done unfortunately. Always thought he was one of the more genuine artist who cared about his fans. Woman in Love and Change of Heart are two of my favorite Petty songs. Rest in Peace

Sad news about Malcolm Young. His legacy lives on forever and they were one of my formative bands as my dad used to play them a lot when I was a kid. Having lost my nan to dementia this year I know what a cruel illness it is and it's heartbreaking to see your relatives like that.

Pat Torpey (drummer Mr. Big) dies at 58. Too young 😢. Saw him last December perform with Mr. Big. RIP Pat. "My dear friends, I'm sorry to be the bearer of such sad news. Pat Torpey has been my closest friend in music for over thirty years. He passed away yesterday from complications as a result of Parkinson's disease. Pat was one of the finest human beings I've ever had the privilege of knowing, and the honor of working with. All of us in Mr Big had nothing but the highest respect and admiration for him. He is loved by anyone and everyone who ever met him. And surely one of the finest rock drummers the world has ever known. Please keep his sweet wife and wonderful son in your prayers. I Love You, Pat. You made the world a better place. We will miss you. We will never forget you. Rest In Peace, my brother. Billy Sheehan"

Listening to a podcast called Dead Rock Stars made by Mick Wall. Has covered Freddie, Bonham, Ronnie James Dio, Bowie.
During the podcast about Phil Lynott, Wall (who has written many books on rock bands and did a very good article about Hysteria back in 1987 in Kerrang!) says a future podcast will be about Steve Clark.
As memory serves Wall isn't a favourite within the Leppard camp?

Pete Shelley of the Buzzcocks passed yesterday.
Even if you’ve never heard the Buzzcocks chances are that you listen to bands with influences indisputably drawn from Pete’s songs.
