I quickly read through this interview when it was released last Friday. Didn't post it because it is apparent it was conducted before the Summer tour began, and it is mostly a rehash of discussions found in other interviews conducted around the same time. But.... I missed some info at the very end of the interview:
Beyond the tour and single promotion, what’s next for Def Leppard?
“We’ve got a bunch of things coming up. There are some European things we’ve got to do. And there’s talk of us doing a Vegas residency with an orchestra. We’ve done the thing with symphonies before [Drastic Symphonies]. That was No 1 for 11 weeks on the crossover classical charts, which was so weird. We never thought we’d be on the classical chart, but there it was. So that’s what we’ve got to do.”
He also talks about new music:
Diamond Star Halos came out two years ago. Is there a new Def Leppard record in the works?
“We’re feverishly working on new music. Joe [Elliott] and me were going back and forth this past Sunday, kind of like we did during Diamond Star Halos, where I’m getting excited about this new song, and then there’s another, and we want to make it better, put backing vocals in the right place and find the right sound.”

Take it global - East and West coast in the US, Paris, Berlin, Sydney opera house etc

I think they will do this outside of the residency in other countries too, like they did with Hysteria in its entirety. Hopefully it's not 5 years later though!! They'd easily sell out 3 nights in the Royal Albert Hall imo.

With the O2 selling out in 2018 and adding Wembley Arena, that was 30,000 tickets sold. Capacity at the RAH would accommodate, as you say easily 3 nights and I think possibly 5 nights. There’s also the added factor (outside of the UK fans) of travellers to London for a concert and a holiday!

3 nights is not a residency... The UK market is very different to the US. Leppard’s longest ‘run’ at any UK venue was 3 nights at Birmingham NEC Arena, way back in 1992. If we had, 33 years later, a run of three nights or more, certainly to UK fans, this would certainly have a ‘residency’ feel.

Theres a misunderstanding here, Neil clearly says outside of the residency they could take the tour around the world including some nights in London in his post.

The fact it would have an orchestra means it has to be a run of shows at one place, I don't think its viable to take a full orchestra on the road like a full world tour in multiple cities in multiple countries. So it would have to be a number of shows in a particular city in a few countries, say for example Vegas or Tokyo or London. But I actually think only 3 nights at The Royal Albert Hall wouldn't be enough.

What an epic year 2025 will be if we can somehow get a run of orchestra shows AND a new album. They could feasibly do both as I would imagine the orchestra shows would be a limited run. I would think they'd have to give fans around the world a fair shake to see this though - hopefully this is not limited to 1 place on the globe! Whatever their touring plans are in the first half of 2025 we'd have to know soon as the time is passing fast this year. I hope they would give a few songs that didn't make DS a shot...DHTH for me was such a glaring omission and would sound amazing with an orchestra. TurnToDust86 - this is your shot to see your song! There's no way they would do these shows without playing it.
