I was just thinking about how long do we have left with the band? IMO Every show is a gift at this point. Def Leppard
Joe Elliott will be 65 in a few weeks (August 1st) Phil Collen is the oldest in leppard at 66. (67 in December) Rolling Stones
Mick Jagger 81 AC/DC

I think Joe is the key to how long they have. However long he can continue doing the songs justice is the defining factor. You look at someone like David Coverdale, his voice going is what’s determined the fate of Whitesnake. At the moment Joe is holding up well, I’d like to think they have ten years max.

I love how Def Leppard have always been a class act. They’ve never had to resort to cheap publicity stunts, never played the fake farewell tour card like so many other bands in order to sell tickets like, say KISS or Mötley Crüe.
Even during the dips of their long career when they perhaps didn’t get the acknowledgment and attendance they deserved, they just persisted by making new music and touring, even if that meant playing smaller places. They never quit and I admire them for it.
I hope, and think, that when the time comes, they will treat the whole thing with the same class, dignity and respect they have shown throughout their career, there will be no fake farewell tours, no shows using lip syncing or tapes, again like KISS or Crüe, just in order to make money.
I hope, and think, there will be no tours without, or maybe with just one original member, like a Foreigner or a Journey. I hope they go out on top playing stadiums and arenas instead of having to go back to playing smaller places like a Saxon or whatever (not that there’s anything wrong with Saxon).
Being back with a major record company is also where they belong.
I’d also hate to see them struggle to perform like Bon Jovi (kudos to Jon for being honest about his voice problems and not trying to hide it like Paul Stanley). I’d hate to see them wheeled out in a wheelchair on stage like Phil Collins or cancelling tours due to age related health problems like say Aerosmith.
Seeing how well they perform today, how great they sound and look, I’d say they have at least 5 -10 years left. Perhaps 2030? 50th anniversary of their debut album could signal the start of a long last tour and farewell.

If they adjust a little bit more to help Joe live they could go on for quite a while.
Just look at Deep Purple. They are still regulary releasing high quality albums, the one coming now in July is shaping up to be top class, and touring a lot. I'd say they were top 3 of the bands on Sweden Rock last year.
Gillan and Glover are 79 while Paice and Airey are "only" 76 years old.
In other words, there's hope!!

They could always use pre-recorded vocals. Lol
