Oh bleep yeah, thank you. I can listen at my desk-o 😁. Wonder how Eddie feels about the new song. Rob He likes the early stuff. Not sure he likes anything after Pyro. But he would never bash the band for not writing the same album twice like they certainly could have. Eddie has to ride the fence a lot so you never really truly get his opinion if it's hinting at any negativity.

Phil says Just Like 73 is the seed of another DL album. They have a bunch of stuff. Waffled on when next album will be released.
The tour will feature a brand new stage. Reminds Phil of being in the round. Says there will be a lot of running around for the band members. New content for the screens. Eddie brought up that Billy and DHTH were played during the SiriusXM show and inquired if they will be part of the tour setlist. It was apparent that Phil didn't want to get specific about the setlist. Would only say "I hope so" and that they have trimmed some of the classic songs down to allow for inclusion of deeper stuff.

Just listened to Phil's interview with Eddie Trunk again. A few other things Phil said.... 1. Phil would love for Def Leppard to tour with Duran Duran 2. Just Like 73 was started during DSH sessions. Phil was writing with Dave Bassett. Joe heard demo and started writing the lyrics. 3. Phil says ticket sales are great for DL/Journey. 4. Just finishing up the video for Just Like 73. Breaks the cycle of a journey/styx/crue/poison revolving door and would be extremely successful no doubt. That said what I’d really like is a Lep/Lep tour meaning no co-billing.

IMO Very hard that they can do another Stadium tour in a couple of years, they over did it a bit too much, most likely arena tour, residency and European festivals in 2025-early 26.

I will see Duran Duran in Athens in just over 3 weeks. Love em. Select number of shows together would be great though not sure where that would work. Let the "grown-ups" look at Spotify algorithms!
Rest of 2024 after the tour, early 2025 finish album. If Lepps do Europe summer 2025, can do US sheds 2026. Stadium run in US / Canada with Nickelback good pairing, they do 4 million Spotify streams per day and have lots of multi platinum discs.

Duran Duran have put out some great stuff, their singles output in the 80's is immense. As daft as it may sound, some of it (Hungry like the Wolf, Wild Boys, Union of the Snake, Rio, Save a Prayer, A View to a Kill) is not that far removed from Leps commercial material on Hysteria or Adrenalize IMO.

I checked some Duran Duran live material from 2024-05. It is IMO very far removed from what Def Leppard is doing. I wish DL could go on tour with some newer/younger bands instead of old bands from the 70-80's. Why not Ghost and The Struts for example?

Duranies play 18 song set, 12 are hits, 6 new songs or less well known. Good mix. Def Leppard in some ways are ACDC mixed with aspects of Duran.
Struts potential great special guests for Lepps. Ghost are (almost) arena stature now, hard to see tour working. Sharing festival duties in Europe maybe.

So likely 2026 for a New record? Can't believe it's 2024 and we're still getting new music from the band. What a gift.

They are the kings of overplaying markets. You have to remember casual fans love seeing the band every summer. Those fans fill venues, not diehards. If there was no demand for the band then promoters wouldn't book them every summer. I agree they will likely do a festival run next year. But i'm not convinced of Vegas. I'm amazed they haven't been offered to play Pyromania in full in Vegas. We'll see i guess.

Now that Poison has announced they will be out in 2025, maybe they will pair up again, adding another big name that can sell from 5 to 10K tickets... Look for Bret to spill the beans out in a solo show and city near you!
