We did a similar thread last year to discuss the setlist for the stadium tour, so theres no reason not to do it for this years tour....

Take is a brilliant opener.
LGR is a stadium anthem, did very well on charts in Europe. 2 UK, 2 Norway, 3 Finland, 3 Switzerland, 4 Ireland, 5 Portugal, 6 Denmark. Personally rather have LIG.
Most of the set picks itself.
Kick stays as supporting album and by far most popular song from album on YouTube and Spotify.
WLAHC big in UK 2, Ireland 1. Rather they not play but it's a hit!
At some of the more metal tests in Europe think This Guitar could get substituted out, replaced with Let It Go earlier in the set. Would be nice if they put in something else from DSH like All We Need but long shot.
If there is an issue with the set is that songs 7 thru 10 loses bit of momentum for many, but 2 of the Love Bites and WLAHC are massive hits. Hard to drop.
As not seen band in 4 years, will take the setlist.

Basically agree with all you've said. I did think LGR was a bit of glaring omission last summer but Let It Go is one of my favorite songs so too bad that song was removed for it. I still am not a fan of This Guitar and it's probably my least favorite song on the new album so if it were me, I'd rather see that song gone with LGR replacing it and having a bit shorter acoustic set to keep the pace up a bit more. Outside of that though like you say, the set mostly picks itself. It's a Stadium, Co-Headline tour so they have limited time and aren't going to play deeper cuts. I feel like it's a pretty good set given the circumstances and last summer's set was probably my favorite since the 2012 Rock of Ages tour. And above all, I remain in constant awe of just how good this band still sounds live. We've seen many of their peers that have not fared as well so it's great they're still able and willing to put on the show that they do. That said though, I'm really hoping we get an opportunity to see some deeper cuts over the next year or two with a Vegas style residency or some smaller venue tour that allows deeper sets. I missed the two previous Vegas residencies because the timing just didn't work out well but I'd love one more opportunity! Take is a brilliant opener. Heres my brain dump on this setlist and I'm working on the basis that its pretty much going to differ very little from this.
My hot take is to get rid of This Guitar and that I'm not a fan of the new version of WLAHC either. I appreciate they want to play new music, but I think on a stadium show that 2 new songs is fine for me. Dropping This Guitar gives them scope to play something from another album. The acoustic version of WLAHC was fine back in 95/96 when they delivered the lyrics properly, but this new acoustic section sounds off to me and I don't like that its abbreviated either.
LGR is an obvious addition to a stadium show, certainly one they have to play in the UK I feel.
There a lull in the set where you have Love Bites, This Guitar, WLAHC & BOTH (punctuated by Rocket of course). They have to play WLAHC in the UK and it won't be dropped for our shows. It may be controversial but they could do like they did back in 2015 and play WLAHC followed by Switch and drop BOTH. They could move WLAHC to earlier in the set and play the proper version. They could completely cut down the acoustic section and just do the acoustic / electric version of BOTH followed by Switch. They could cut down the album version of Rocket and play the single edit which I think works fine live (they've played it many times like that) and has more energy than the album version. I say all that just to free up time for something else from their career. Possibly have one rotating slot in the set too.
Take what you want Let’s get rocked Animal When love and hate collide Kick Foolin Armageddon It Promises Love Bites Rotating slot (Let it Go / Undefeated / Lets Go / Now / Slang... or whatever else they fancy throwing in) Bringin on heartbreak (acoustic / electric) Switch 625 Rocket (single edit) Hysteria Pour some sugar on me ------------- Rock of ages Photograph

I'm a big proponent of not playing the exact same set in back to back shows in one venue. That goes for if it's one day apart (like the two NJ shows) or one year apart (like many shows I saw in 2016 and 2017). It is always nice to see the band freshen things up, but I have to agree with andylgr regarding the most recent set. I'm really glad "Take What You Want" and "Kick" remained in the set. And "Let's Get Rocked" certainly deserves to be included for stadium shows. I've come around on the song again in recent years but I also didn't miss it last year, knowing its absence made room for something else less common. IMO, I think the acoustic set just needs to be rested entirely. I loved getting to see "This Guitar" live, especially since I like the song live a lot more than I do on record. But if it's not going to have a big push behind it as the single and with the album being nearly nine months old, perhaps it's time to drop the song. I would still like to see Lep keep three DSH tracks in the set. Perhaps "SOS Emergency" or "Gimme A Kiss That Rocks" would be better since they're more typical, higher energy Lep songs. I also do not care for the new version of WL&HC. At first I thought the videos on YouTube were just partial recordings. It took me a couple views to realize they were playing a truncated version of the song. I get why with limited time, but I don't think this version of it works. It feels disjointed and hurts the song for me. The back and forth on the solo is also jarring since I'm so used to Phil playing it. I've long said this tour with Crue is a good chance to throw in something deeper and heavier. Before we knew a new album was coming out, I had stuff like "Stagefright" and "Another Hit And Run" in there. Perhaps they toss "Wasted" into the second slot (the most stereotypical of Crue fans should love shouting that, right?), reset the show with LGR third, then get the crowd clapping along with "SOS Emergency" fourth. I also think a couple of the hits could be moved further down to really make the home stretch of songs stronger (and more on the rock side, as I'm not big on ballady songs like "Hysteria" being so close to the end). Take What You Want Wasted Let's Get Rocked SOS Emergency Foolin' Kick Love Bites Promises Bringin' On The Heartbreak Switch 625 Rocket Hysteria Animal Armageddon It Pour Some Sugar On Me Rock Of Ages Photograph

If they were to release The Guitar as a single then having the live version as a b-side would be a nice treat. The DSH cover stickers seemed to indicate Kick, Fire It Up and This Guitar were the planned singles assuming my memory is correct. TWYW was an unexpected bonus for us.

I like that they are sticking with three cuts off the new album. I actually liked that I got four cuts when I saw them early in The Stadium Tour, but I can see why they settled on three. Still, would like to see some other new songs get swapped in, rather than just TWYW, Kick and This Guitar every time. That said, Lep isn't known for radically changing sets mid-leg. The fact they changed during the Stadium Tour at all is a bit surprising.
The monster hits will continue to take up the bulk of the show, of course. I am glad that Promises and Let's Get Rocked is being shown a little love. If I had my way, I'd rotate something like Dangerous in there, but then it is a question of which song to drop.
The acoustic set really doesn't work in a stadium. It doesn't matter if it is Have You Ever, Two Steps Behind or WLAHC, it just doesn't seem to connect.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that after this summer, we get a Def Leppard tour that isn't a co-headlining or multiple-opener situation. Something where we can get a little deeper in the catalog.
That said, at this point I am just thrilled to get a chance to see them play live. We're closer to the end than the beginning, so got to enjoy it while we can.

The acoustic set really doesn't work in a stadium. It doesn't matter if it is Have You Ever, Two Steps Behind or WLAHC, it just doesn't seem to connect. I think one song connects, whether its TSB or BOTH, but the issue for me is that its too long a segment in this show. Its too much of a momentum killer and in an environment where its a festival style show (more than 1 big band) then momentum is key. Theres the chance that they lose people at this point by playing a 10-15 min acoustic segment. If they played the proper acoustic version of WLHAC in the UK I think it would go down a storm, the song is that popular. But a new song in that segment (This Guitar) IMO is out of place in this type of show, it would be different if this was a residency or their own show where they can get away with it maybe. Chances are though that it will stay as it is and won't change.

Given the "hits" setlist..I wonder if THIS set would "survive" at Hellfest?
It's one of the harder festivals in Europe apparently so maybe a sidestep into 2-3 harder numbers?

So forgive me if this is the wrong section but I have a question.
Last night I saw Bryan Adams in Connecticut, USA. Before the show, I checked out an online setlist site which says he plays 24 songs in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I thought that was a lot to play in such a short amount of time. Then I noticed during the show that some of the songs were shortened. Not all of them, just some. They weren’t snippets, but he would sing the first verse, chorus, then the guitar solo, then outro. And he didn’t mash them together like a medley. Almost like they were on a TV show and had to play an edited version.
My question is: Would this be something that fans would like to see DL do?
Personally I like hearing the entire song. Especially when there’s a little mini solo before the second verse. But then again, DL has always been clever with their music. Maybe hearing 24 songs at a future show would be cool. Even if they are shortened.

While I did enjoy the acoustic medley Leppard did back in 2012 I'd much rather get entire songs. I wish Leppard would get back to playing 1 hour, 45 minute sets which would allow a few more songs to make the sets more interesting. They seem to be stuck around 70-80 minutes these days. That said though, happy they're still playing at all and that I'm still here to see it So forgive me if this is the wrong section but I have a question.
