Just bought 2 tickets on the pitch, not Golden Circle. Crue close this, expect to leave halfway through their set!
Tomorrow buy Wembley, seat map looks horrible at the moment, hope better in 18 hours. And buy Thun, Switzerland.
Hurrah!

Very strange seating map. Symmetrical as sold out areas on both sides are identical, maybe tickets not sold these areas? If not all seats on sale then guessstimate 55% sold, if other sections sold out then over 60%. Floor impossible to tell as Golden Circle still available normal prices, not been moved to platinum availability. Same for normal pitch tickets.
Going to this so hope sells many tickets!

Went through the Hampden Park website which takes a customer to SEC Ticketmaster and the live seating map. Whole sections sold out. Tickets in the nosebleeds 12 pounds cheaper than TM UK. Ticket sales look a lot stronger on the SEC TM website than they do on the Ticketmaster UK website! Both Ticketmaster. Very confusing.

Printed the seating maps from both TM maps, estimated total capacity for each section and estimated from the blue dots how many unsold. Shows roughly about 24000 seats for sale, about 12500 been sold which is better than I thought, so about 11500 left, of which about 1000 are platinum seats.
No way of guessing how many sold on the field, imagine over 16000 tickets on sale there. Golden Circle still available.
Need to add strong third band like Whitesnake or Darkness, maybe 4th band like local heroes Gun.

Seen that news too. Not seen the official announcement yet though. Maybe sales were slow for it?

Sales slow, during Christmas sales didn't seem to move. Hampden is huge, most shows have 40000+ attending. Given less than 6 million live in Scotland and slow sales, not surprised venue changed. Glasgow Green used for fests with up to 50000 attending. Think Lepps could have 30000 attending.
Going to this concert, very worried when saw email as going to book hotels and flights this weekend.

Ridiculous tickets pricing can’t help either. The dynamic pricing system is a disgrace, there’s no way those prices will fly in the U.K., this isn’t America where tickets will sell for upwards of a thousand dollars. I think they (promotors) could have misjudged the market and the climate.

We have to remember that Glasgow Hydro Arena was not quite a sell out in 2018. Hampden park at 50,000 was always going to be hugely ambitious, even more so with the US prices. Plus we need to factor in the current living cost crisis in the UK and Ticketmasters dynamic pricing. Could be much lower numbers attending than your forecast of 30K. I’m thinking more low to mid 20K at the present. We have no current date in Wales. Cardiff Castle 10-12K would be a cool gig to add on, playing a unique venue that Def Leppard have not played before. There are so many artists charging ‘normal’ stadium price tickets e.g £90, anything more than that is really pushing the boat out. No one wants to see empty seats at a stadium, especially the band, so a wise move to Glasgow green.

Kiss are playing Glasgow week of Lepps and haven't sold out the arena. GnR expected to play a stadium around same time in Glasgow. Prices for standing at Glasgow Green slightly higher than I paid for Hampden. Lowest prices Scotland are higher than lowest for London which is weird as Londoners have higher incomes.
The Darkness drummer is supposed to be new Foo Fighters touring drummer, may mean they cannot be third band on any UK shows.

The show is still just under 6 months away so theres plenty of time to sell more tickets, but I wonder if the promoters have panicked and switched it quickly because potential empty seats in a stadium would look a lot worse than a few less people standing in a field watching a show.
I have no idea what dictates show prices, but they need to be addressed, maybe its the fact that its 2 big headliners means the prices are high? Joe has spoken about it being like a mini-touring festival, but we've only got 2 bands announced so far. Possibly the announcement of the third and fourth bands could speed up ticket sales. I can't help but feel that right now prices could be hard to justify for some people for 90 minutes each of Leps and Crue.

Personally I'd love to see a "special guest" band like Simple Minds or Duran Duran joining the UK shows line up. They would bring added value to help justify the cost of the tickets, and let's face it, they both had a lot more UK chart success that Crue did.

Great idea, love Duran Duran but they have almost sold out a UK arena tour in spring and last year played to 60000 at Hyde Park, so are too big to be third band. I was at Hyde Park show, fantastic.
Simple Minds have well received new album out generally play large theaters and small arenas, surprisingly big in German speaking countries. As Scottish founders think in Scotland they expect to headline. Otherwise as co headliner or second on bill may work, don't see them as third on bill. Would love to see them. Have no tour dates confirmed.

Its going to be really interesting to see which way they go with the support acts, the US stadium tour had 5 bands on the bill, so we could see that number replicated over here. The opener could be someone British thats relativeley new - I'm thinking someone like a Massive Wagons who get a lot of radio play here. But the 2 bands on before Leps & Crue need to be name bands with a big following, so I'm thinkings of bands like Thunder (Danny brain injury permitting) and The Darkness. Maybe I'm blinkered in picking those 2 and theres even better choices out there?
Left field choices would be a reformed Almighty (Ricky Warwick's old band) to open or even Little Angels getting back together. I hope we don't get Whitesnake, as much as I love their music Coverdale wasn't up to it last year and he needs to bow out now I think.

A 'Massive Wagons' or 'Those Damn Crows' for the opening band would be great - Two brilliant bands making a name for themselves. I completely concur in regards to established bands - Thunder and The Darkness would fit the bill brilliantly. You could always mentioned 'The Struts' into the mix as well. I would personally add in Europe. I agree with Whitesnake - I saw the last concert in the UK at Cardiff. We said our 'farewells' The full line up reveal will certainly generate some more (and needed) UK ticket sales.

On train to Glasgow, weather forecast for tomorrow night looks 50/50 rain. Rains I leave after Leppard, if not may do Motley. Excited.
Enjoyed last 2 weeks of travelling around UK Europe watching bands (saw Pantera Slipknot in Lisbon at 2 day festival, The Cult in Lausanne). After this 3 weeks in County Tyrone, not far from RBTyrone!

Just entered venue quite heavy rain, wearing bright yellow pancho. People seem happy but rain normal in Glasgow. Lot of hardy folks with t shirts and jeans on.

No pre-show video from Rick in Glasgow. This may be the only time in 2023 when he didn't post one. Hope it's just an indication of internet service issues and not that he isn't feeling well.
