Yes and also their own publisher copies as well Thanks, I've updated the list. The publishers copies don't say how many there are being printed for that. Surprised that the publishers version is delayed as thats just a copy of the standard book in a slip case.

Maybe the slip cases to those are handmade too. Or maybe the reproduction of the Don valley ticket needs more work?

So my free standard copy arrived the other day and I've been flicking through it. I like the anecdotal approach to it. It works well because its packed with stuff to look at and you get some notes from everyone about key events in that time period, which keeps it interesting without being too wordy. So I can see why they've gone a different route to Animal Instinct. Having said that, it still means that they can do a proper official biography of the band that is more in depth and wordy if they wanted to in the future. The amount of pictures in here is amazing, many of which we haven't seen before, it really hits home how much stuff they must have in the vaults - it must be huge amount of material they've amassed over their career. I haven't read it all and taken it all in, but on casually browsing through it does seem to fade out towards the end and become thinner on material for various tours and events that are later in their career. The one thing that jumped out at me was the Hysteria era demo cassettes - I wonder if these are in one of the bands collections?

Genesis should stop messing around. Admit they cannot publish the book and refund everyone ASAP. This is a nightmare that they clearly don’t care for it’s customers. The delays are costing them more money as they have been offering either an £80 book voucher to spend in their store or a free copy of the regular version of Definitely to UK fans as an apology for the delay. I received the same offer and I’m in the US. I’m still debating. £80 off a publisher copy plus £60 for shipping is a lot.

That's why I passed on their $80 offer....was still ending up being more than I could just buy it for on Amazon if I wanted to go that route (I currently see it's $30 on Amazon with free shipping for prime members). And there was nothing else I wanted to buy from their site. I still feel like they should've either refunded people like $25 or something as gratitude for the extended wait or maybe figured out a way to add something else in to sweeten the pot a little bit for those that have endured the long wait. Is what it is I guess. Hopefully it shows up sometime in 2024.... The delays are costing them more money as they have been offering either an £80 book voucher to spend in their store or a free copy of the regular version of Definitely to UK fans as an apology for the delay. I've never ordered from Genesis but on the plus side I remember reading numerous reviews about Genesis releases in Record Collector in the 1990s when I was a subscriber. I can't recall anything but positive reviews on the quality of their releases.

Update received today on the book from Genesis:
We are writing to inform you of a recent unfortunate setback from the bindery regarding materials being rejected due to not meeting their high standards. These materials have now been replaced with binding back underway. As a result of this, we will not be able to ship your copy of Definitely in November. In response to this news, Genesis is looking into options to expedite the process, though we cannot guarantee delivery for the whole edition before the holiday period. We are hoping to ship the majority of Deluxe and some Collector copies in December, with the rest of the edition following in the new year.
When you receive your copy, you can expect a special 'Thank You Pack' from the Genesis team containing a limited edition poster which eagle-eyed subscribers will recognise as the montage of band photographs from the handcrafted clamshell box, as well as a Definitely bookmark and sticker. We thank you for your patience and we hope you will be very pleased with your limited edition set when it arrives.

If that’s the case, I will expect a random band member to personally deliver my copy and perform at least two songs of my choice. I hope it isn’t Rick Allen. Only because Desert Song would sound pretty weird with just the drums.

I guess the band had to see them to sign off on them?
My first thought upon seeing it was that it looks like a nice little package (and for well over £100 it should) but my second thought was that I really hope the packaging for these is good. I can’t imagine there being a surplus to replace any damaged in transit items.

November, huh? In what time-space continuum might that be? It's the middle of the December (at least here in the states), and I have YET to receive my book. You have ONE job! Books! How does one miss a deadline THAT badly?

Another delay for the Publishers copies . Now expected in February 2024!!
Direct quote. Nice proofreading by Genesis. “ We regret to inform you that the production of these exclusive Publisher's Copies is taking slightly longer than anticipated. As a result, there will be a delay in the shipping, which is now scheduled to commence in February 2023.”

Just got my free copy and shocked how quickly it came from overseas. So quick that I still don't believe it but it did said international. Ha.
Didn't see many pics as didn't have my reading glasses so the book was right up to my face. Only ready a little bit as a heavy book to have right up to your face, but it was interesting.
Is "Mr monsoon of " the only writer/journalist def lep uses?

Just kidding.

It looks like these have now started shipping, pictures have been popping up on facebook from fans that have received theirs. Although I'm not sure which of the collectors editions it was.

This is the first picture that I have seen, posted by a fan in the US. The centre piece is the envelope that houses the signed Wembley Stadium 1992 photograph, hence it is the deluxe version. I would love to see what Number she has (for the band signed page out of the first 350 copies) though she has not posted that yet.

They weren't happy that at the top of the page it says something like 'this book is limited to 1500 copies'. Then the number was written below that as being in the low 300's. So basically there was no differentiation in the signed certificate for those 350 copies that were more expensive.

I'm already anticipating being annoyed by the certificate. I ordered within ten minutes of the books being available to purchase. That should warrant a book number of less than 50, but that will only happen if they actually fill the purchases in the order they were received and the numbered certificate is assigned based on that order timestamp. I'd bet they didn't do that and all the books were just boxed up and a random box selected for each order.
