During this interview Vivian revealed he had back surgery October 2nd and said he'll be moving around slowly for a couple of weeks. He also said Def Leppard will likely include a couple of the lesser played songs from the Vegas residency in their Exit 111 show this weekend.

I wonder how Viv was on stage on Sat nite? During the interview he said he was wearing a back brace and ice following back surgery -ouch! He doesn't let anything slow him down does he?!

Viv didn't move much. He did walk in front of Rick's drum kit, but that is as far as he went. The temp at time of show was 34 degrees, so with his back and cold, I could see why he didn't move much.

I saw the band in early July 2013 in Calgary just days after he got chemo. He amazes me. It was an outdoor concert with 20,000 people and I made my way to the front with a small sign that read "sending positive thoughts your way Viv!". He and Joe saw it. Here's a video Armageddon from that show. The week before there was mass flooding and several downtown businesses were shut down for days. South of the city, homes were ruined. Joe was speaking about how the city had been through a lot when I started recording. My husband and I drove 7 hours to get there, and he hung out with family while I went to the show (we could only get one ticket as it wasn't available via ticketmaster so I had to buy it off someone), then we drove home again after the show. 14 hours total - worth every minute.

I remember reading somewhere that Sav and the others had to help him off stage a couple of times while he was going through chemo and touring. He is a true example of both a positive attitude and a stubborn Irishman.

He is a true example of both a positive attitude and a stubborn Irishman. I totally am in awe of his mindset. He is but another inspirational member of this fantastic band. I can only imagine how he feels after an infusion, yet he continues on.

I think he was a trooper just being there...they all were. It was unfortunately quite cold that day for all of them. I can only imagine how hard it was to keep their fingers, and in Rick's case, his feet, moving in such frigid air. They always give it their all...for their fans. It would be hard not to love and appreciate their devotion to their fans.

Wasn't sure where to put this but I saw on Facebook that Joe will be on Trunk Nation Friday about 2:15pm (I guess that's eastern time?) on Sirius XM Volume channel 106. And Mitch Lafon is interviewing him Friday and will air on Saturday.
