Phil’s got some great stories about playing with Richie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Michael Schenker… Getting sober 32 years ago and what the trigger was… drinking $20,000 worth of coffee… putting Delta Deep (one of Phil’s side projects) together… his top 3 musical experiences, favorite guitarists he’s played with… biggest life lesson he’s learned (which has helped keep him very grounded), toughest thing he’s had to do, and much more. INCREDIBLY cool! Phil talking about his guitars: "A lot of my stuff is on the way to England right now, 'cause we're gonna start rehearsing there in May." Phil talking about his solo album and mentions new DL album: "Probably next year and probably the Def Leppard album will be next year. We've just started on that. We've got stuff floating around but we haven't finished anything yet."

This was insanely enjoyable! How on earth did anyone get that kind of time with Phil?? And to cover such a variety of topics? What a fantastic listen!

What a fantastic listen! totally agree...finally getting a chance to listen to it now. CindyJ tracks down so many interviews and i'm sure even she would agree that a lot of the Radio interviews are exactly the same and have to be done within a 15 or 20m interview. But when the band is given and willing to do feature interviews that's usually when you get the best interviews imo. It also takes a good interviewer who knows how to do conversational interviews and has done their proper research.

Such a great interview! As an editor, hearing what happened to Phil's book before he and Helen set it right made me cringe.

Agreed, that was a great interview. Would have been perfect had there not been shirtless remarks.

Finally had chance to listen to this. Quite an unusual interview amongst the sea of repetitive and banal interviews that they are usually put through. Lots of interesting bits of info and refreshing to hear him sound like he is as a normal person talking about real life stuff. Thanks for posting it CindyJ

I think imo this is one of the best interviews Phil has ever done.
