A guitar solo album??? Oh my. I'd be interested in hearing an Instrumental Album from Phil. I think he was really inspired when he did the Satriani gigs. My only worry would be if he writes great stuff and all we can think is how awesome def leppard would sound doing that with vocals over it. I really like when the guys have creative things going on between tours and albums. It makes the time go faster.

I’d buy the cd and hope that it wouldn’t be a bunch of fast wanking...lol... Phil's playing has matured quite a bit over the last 5 years. Between his Blues Band, other side projects, his Satriani Tour and now his possible Instrumental project i think he is searching for his place in the guitar universe. I think he is one of the most talented Singer/Songwriters/Musicians active today. Plus he continues to produce taking all of the knowledge from the years with Mutt and sharing it with other bands. I don't think he gets enough credit

In regard to Phil’s playing, I have always wanted to see him talk about how he wrote his earlier solos from Pyromania, Hysteria and Adrenalize. Like an interview series where each video is a behind-the-scenes of a specific song.

Neal Schon did an album of cover songs a few years ago where he replaced the vocals with guitars. Sounded pretty cool. A couple of songs that he covered are Shania Twain From This Moment and Bryan Adams Everything I Do...
I’m pretty sure Phil would do the same type of thing. Highly doubt he’d put something out along the lines of Joe Satriani.

"I was just informed that my show at Westwood One is not being renewed. In 30 days, it’s done. Thank you to everyone at WWO especially Chris Jericho. I will not pursue new opportunities. However, I will entertain any serious offers. Should none be coming in. I will officially be retired."
