I am not sure how many other podcasters, radio show hosts or journalists are on here but my first interview with a band member was with Joe. I recall it specifically because I had to find a an area to conduct it in during my lunch break at school. This was in 2013. I am a music teacher and my music room had experienced a terrible flood when the science lab above my classroom had pipes burst that seeped through the floor and caused huge damage in my music room below. They moved my "classroom" to the drama room as a temporary measure until they could pull up the carpets and replace them in the music room. So I chose this little soundbooth to do the interview in that overlooked the drama room on one side and overlooked a very large common area of the school on the other. I was super nervous because I hold the band in high regard but I also was adamant to stick to the "persona" style interview that I was doing back in those days. Joe's call also came in about 10 mins late which is something that often happens when time is tight between interviews. Anyways, I had a decent following for my eccentric antics back then so it totally made my day when I sang "Hysteria" to Joe and he said I sounded like Tom Waits. haha. It was sort of my thing back then.
Since then I have kept a mildly comedic and personable style but the subject matter has gotten more serious and detailed. I have learned from mistakes over the years. I'm just glad and happy to be accepted into the Rock Brigade and have my content shared.
Anyways, I'm just wondering about other journalists on here and what their first experiences were with the band.

Hi Jack I'm not sure how many working journalists there are on the forum but we certainly have some creative writers. It will be easy to see that as you spend more time on here. I probably have the most experience when it comes to television production...but i'm certainly no writer even though part of my education was in Journalism in my first year of college.
