Gig Review: Def Leppard / Cheap Trick – Liverpool Echo Arena (15th Dec 2018)In the support slot for the tour were American classic rockers Cheap Trick...However I think choosing to enter the stage to the PA system announcing that you were about to see “The best rock n’ roll band ever!” may have been a bit of a stretch, especially when they weren’t even headlining tonight’s show. Source + photos I thought this night after night when there was a recording that Cheap Trick was the best (bleeped out) rock and roll band ever before they came on stage. You might get away with that if they were headlining but there were thousands of Lep fans there that would beg to differ on that statement! |

I only learned last week that Paul McCartney played at this same arena just three days before Lep did on this tour. It was the same night as the Manchester show, so I couldn't have gone anyway but it would have been cool. My Uber driver was telling me about the last time Paul played there and he went (in June I think). It's funny he didn't say anything about the December concert. He gave me some tips of sites to see the next day. Luckily it was a Sunday and pretty quiet so we were able to find parking and look around!
