Hi all Goldmine Magazine, Dec 2013 issue with Sammy Hagar on the front cover has a cool interview with Phil about the Hysteria album and the writing process and he also gives his thoughts on each song...and states that Run Riot, to him, is the weakest song on the disc I cannot locate the interview via their website, but also not sure if this magazine is found in record shops. Phil isn't the first band member to voice that opinion about Run Riot. Joe said the same thing.

I think the comments from the band are because it's such a hard song to play and sing and obviously for Joe it must be painful for him to try and hit those notes.
Personally i love the song and would rank it higher than some of their bubble gum pop songs on the album.

I actually think that Run Riot and Shotgun are the best songs on Hysteria. Run Riot to me is DL in AC/DC mode.

What's he talking about? Run Riot sounds great! If it's too hard to play or sing, just admit it.

Honestly, I'd rather hear a poor sounding Run Riot than good sounding Love Bites

no offense to those here...between the 86 Donington show and Viva Hysteria, I heard no difference and feel it's a weak song live, but that's me. Between Love Bites and RR LIVE for me..it's a tie Rob
