www.raysgigs.com/"12 Sept 2013.Today was DEF LEPPARD day as i did two events related to their new live dvd.
4.15pm to 4.45pm interview with Joe Elliot and Rick Savage from Def Leppard at Gibson Studios,29-35 Rathbone Street,London W1.
The two band members are hosting a press day where they do loads of interviews to promote their new live dvd.
I have lots of history with Def Leppard as i have seen them over 20 times going back to 1979 when they supported AC/DC at Hammersmith Odeon.
I am one of eight journo folks in a room with Joe and Rick.Nice and relaxed where everyone pitches in with two or three questions each and as expected Joe does most of the talking.
I asked them "why no UK shows on their summer 2013 European Tour?".They said "they felt it was too soon to play the UK again as they did a full UK arena tour Dec 2011 with Motley Crue and Steel Panther supporting".I saw them at Wembley and Birmingham on that mega three band package.
I said told them "The Joint-Las Vegas is a great venue as i saw The Sex Pistols there a decade ago as it holds only 2000".Joe said "the venue is even better now as it has a balcony with boxes at the side and is now a 4000 capacity venue".
It was like a chat with friends down the pub.
Joe and Rick could not have been any nicer. "

Def Leppard release their documentary 'Viva Hysteria' which follows the group as they performed their top-selling album 'Hysteria' in its entirety over a series of 11 gigs in Las Vegas venue The Joint earlier this year.
'Hysteria' was their fourth studio album and was originally released on 3 August 1987 through Mercury Records and re-released on 1 January 2000. It is the band's best-selling album to date, selling over 20 million copies worldwide, including 12 million in the US, and spawning seven hit singles. The album charted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the UK Albums Chart.
The trademark Def Leppard wall of sound is
just great with the guitars and drums at full tilt as they play the album in track order.
Plenty of mega rock gems on this album.
