Hysteria And they can't possibly skip Sugar so they're on target for a couple min over
Is it possible they're recording the show audio for some reason? The last time I saw this set chicanery was when they had to do something to get everything recorded for Viva Hysteria.

Wonder what this is about? Bizarre. Comments like this piss me off. I remember seeing the same when it was the Crue / Leps tour. When youâre in a crowd and you see a load of people moving, itâs only in your area, you canât see the other 99.9% of the crowd that havenât moved. It looks worse to you but in reality itâs a tiny percentage of people.

Great set list!
Makes me wonder if theyâre ever going to play Stagefright ever again. Donât think itâs been played since the Hysteria residency and if they were going to do it again surely this tour would be the ideal opportunity, especially as a show opener. Presumably itâs not worth Joe wrecking his voice, but having grown up wearing out the ITRIYF vhs as a kid it kind of makes me sad to think weâll never get to see it again. Maybe theyâre saving it for a Pyromania residency so they donât want to play all 10 songs in one show until then (says the optimist in me!)?

This setlist looks fantastic. It also highlights the depth of their catalog. There are still so many songs that are great to hear live that just can't be fit in!

So good seeing CUF back in the set....And Billy also! Now that's a set!
Will be interesting to see if this was just a one-off setlist where they were able to squeeze in an extra song or if it becomes the norm the rest of the tour.

Looking at how long the full show is for the person that filmed it, they definitely went over by 5-6 minutes. Wonder why they were able to do this in Cleveland and not in other cities so far?
I looked up Cleveland curfew and found a case from a couple years ago where Machine Gun Kelly was fined for continuing 30-40 minutes after curfew and apparently told the crowd he was getting fined $70K every 10 minutes.
As Leppard didn't go over by 10+ minutes are they good to go and hence the extra song? I would imagine all cities are not created equal with curfew laws?
Big shout out to Leppard for the extra Pyro song inclusion and hoping we see this in shows to come!

Wonder what this is about? Bizarre. We were in section 4 and I did see quite a few leave from the floor area, one taken out by medics during Journeyâs set. The humidity was stifling and some may have drank too much for that kind of heat. Thrilled again with the set list and hearing CUF! I couldnât hear when Joe said he would be seeing Ian Hunter; maybe next week, but he will let him know that we sang along to Cleveland Rocks, since as you know, Ian wrote it.

Maybe Def Leppard made Journey cut the piano solo so they could have more stage time. Seriously, awesome seeing them put both CUF and BGAG in there. When it comes to curfews, a lot depends on the local authorities. Some will have a "hard" curfew where if the music isn't stopped and the house lights turned on at an exact time, they'll start fining them. Others have a "soft" curfew where you can go up to 15 minutes over without any penalties. Some will also make exceptions if there is a delay in the show starting for some reason (weather, traffic issues outside the venue, etc.).

Maybe the boys were called soft rockers and getting fined is just their way of toughening up their image. Next, theyâll be stealing towels from their hotel rooms or dropping water balloons from the top floor. Crazy antics to come?

I'm very pleased that they played all 4 in one go! Quite curious as to why, or how? Will this become standard moving forward for the set?
It looked like from Twitter/Social Media the signed setlist just had Billy slotted and omitting COF... happy surprises are always welcomed.

âSummer Stadium Tourâ with Def Leppard and Journey leaves Progressive Field crowd satisfied, nostalgic... and dampBy Peter Chakerian, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio â No one ever went broke leaning into nostalgia. Even when tinged with more evident melancholy, nostalgia always seems to hit the spot. Or at least the wallet. When âThe Stadium Tourâ landed at Cleveland Browns Stadium in the summer of 2022, much of that melancholy part was firmly on display: Mötley CrĂŒe singer Vince Neal canât sing anymore. Poison singer Bret Michaelsâ vocal skills, reduced to barks and shouts these days, are creeping back faster than his hairline. Joan Jett was there and gone in a flash â amazing, as always, but better in a club or theater. Now Def Leppard? They came out like a juggernaut and delivered the goods. Unfortunately for them and us, they werenât the high note that night should have landed on. This yearâs edition, âThe Summer Stadium Tour,â course-corrected in impressive fashion. The (nearly?) sold-out show at Progressive Field was head and shoulders better than 2022. Everything about the event was a huge upgrade. Def Leppard headlined the triple bill (as they should have in 2022) with stalwart radio staples Journey and Cheap Trick providing the lead-up. All three were well-oiled machines â good because said machines are older, like most of us in attendance. There was a celebratory vibe from the get-go for the 40,000+ who gathered. Even a smattering of âmuch-neededâ mid-show rain couldnât dampen the fun. Cheap Trick went on first promptly at 6 p.m. with an hour-long blast from their back catalog. Frontman Robin Zander was delightful and charismatic as always. The ever-quirky Rick Neilsen trotted out some of the zaniest guitars in his collection, with plenty of hot licks to match. Bassist Tom Petersson kept the bottom-end level, sporting a sun hat that dwarfed his head. Neilsenâs son Daxx, whoâs been perched on the drumkit stool since 2010, kept the music locomotive and continues to do so with panache and charm. We still miss drummer Bun E. Carlos and the cigarette precariously perched on his lip, but this reviewer had CT on 8-track tapes back in the day. Translation: time marches on. Itâs hard to be satisfied by 60 minutes of Cheap Trick, but they properly ramped up the crowd with favorites like âHeâs a *Edited by Admin*,â âSheâs Tightâ and âI Know What I wantâ along with the big hits âDream Police,â âI Want You to Want Me,â âSurrenderâ and a cover of Fats Dominoâs âAinât That a Shame.â Naturally, their power ballad âThe Flameâ was the most well-received. Zander did an admirable job of protecting his voice throughout the set so he could hit those high notes at the end and the crowd ate it right up. No backing tracks, no down-octave arrangement necessary. Not too bad for a 71-year-old. Not too bad at all. Next up was Journey, who kicked off their 90-minute set just shy of 7:30 p.m. That band has seen a fair share of roster changes across 50+ years, but they rolled out of the garage like that Pontiac Firebird your neighbor has under a car cover across the street. Turn the key and that baby just purrs. Pontiac used to have a slogan in 1984, âWe Build Excitement.â Thatâs exactly what Neal Schon and team did during an 18-song set. The metaphor is apt because by 1984, Journey was building on top of excitement. They were on top of the world and selling out stadiums. They even had their own video game. The audience was rapt from first to last. Apparently, Mother Nature got a bit emotional, too. Right before the band hit the stage, the sky began to cry. But no one went running for shelter. A lionâs share of this audience was here for the Bay Area-based rockers. Fans absolutely gobbled up power ballads âOpen Arms,â âFaithfullyâ and âLights,â the latter sung by drummer Deen Castronovo. He did an admirable job drumming against tender vocals â not an easy feat â giving longtime frontman Arnel Pineda a moment to collect himself. Surely this band is Schonâs baby and both he and keyboardist-guitarist Jonathan Cain are the long-haul holdovers from the bandâs golden era, keeping things authentic and strong. This is hardly a âhot take,â but here goes: Pineda has never been given a fair shake. Held against the shadow of classic lineup frontman Steve Perry, the guy has more than understood the assignment. Anyone still clinging to Perryâs ghost should have been at this show. You could feel the Filipino singer-songwriterâs voice punch you square in the chest from the last row of upper deck seats. He and firebrand Schon made a formidable one-two punch during âDead or Alive,â âStone in Loveâ and the title track from Journeyâs massive 1981 massive album, âEscape.â The rest of the set was an absolute jukebox, leaving the crowd happy and damp â heck, even Mother Nature was satisfied. The skies kept threatening through Def Leppardâs 90-minute set that began at 9:30 with a âGods of War/Pyromaniaâ prerecorded fanfare. The five-piece British classic rock outfit essentially replicated Journeyâs formula, coming in hot with âRock! Rock! (Till You Drop).â
The bandâs 19-song set was largely comprised of their hit albums âPyromaniaâ (40 years old!) and âHysteriaâ (which is almost there).
Vocalist Joe Elliott, like Zander earlier on, paid particular attention to use his voice at moments where it really mattered â dropping down an octave during choruses and bridges of songs to let bassist Rick Savage and guitarists Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen lift them.
Drummer Rick Allen gave Elliott another little breather during âSwitch 625.â Thatâs how he was able to pierce those high notes in hits like âFoolinâ,â âRock of Ages,â âPhotograph,â âToo Late for Loveâ and âDie Hard the Hunterâ â he was strategic in using his voice and careful not to blow it out.
The band did an acoustic-electric mini-set at the foot of the gargantuan stageâs runways. While that part of the show didnât land like the propulsion that had come before, it did provide a reprieve for Elliott, who took the jangle of âBringinâ on the Heartbreakâ back to electricity for the crowd.
In the end, Elliottâs voice was showing some signs of nightly wear, but by then we all were. Weâd all been bathed in prime nostalgia for hours at that point and â at least to these eyes and ears â itâs hard to see how the night could have been improved on.
Hope Mötley CrĂŒe was watching.Visit the link for photos

Iâd rather they didnât play it than hear Joe struggle on it, which is why I think itâs not in the set. Oh yeah if he canât quite manage it Iâd rather not hear it. I meant more that it would wreck his voice for the rest of the show doing it as an opener, Iâm pretty sure he could still sing it as I donât think itâs *that* much more to contend with than some of the other songs in the set, especially as heâs sounding really good right now. But then I guess why jeopardise that. I know you love Women, Andy, do you think thatâs why this doesnât get played anymore because itâs a lot for Joe in a high register? Just wondering if anything else is off-limits now for the same reason
