Heads up for anyone who might care.... I won't be doing realtime coverage when Def Leppard hits the stage in Kansas City.

I may be a broken record, but boy do I miss amphitheaters and arenas. I get the band wants to do big shows, unless you’re relatively close to the stage, it’s more like paying to watch a live DVD on screen. My seats in Chicago weren’t awful, but still probably as far away as I’ve ever been out of all the shows in my lifetime. Yeah, maybe I’m spoiled, but to me seeing & hearing the band perform is number one. When you’re in a stadium ( especially these diamond shaped baseball ones) the crowd, vibe and atmosphere almost take over. It’s a different thing. Just less intimate. Cheers for a Viva Pyromania announcement next year lol. These are close to my seats but I am a little to outfield. . I am lucky and will not be in the sun at all as you can see in the pic.Â

Agree 100%. I likely wouldn't be attending this tour if I didn't get extremely lucky when I got tickets a couple years ago getting 2 seats near the thrust for a good price. I'm sure it's great for the band to be in stadiums and play to large crowds but as a fan, I'd much rather see them in more intimate settings. And the prices of tickets would likely be much better also. I'm still hoping that one day we get an "Evening with Def Leppard" tour where it's just them playing 2 to 3 hour sets and no big package where I have to pay for bands I don't want to see. I agree. We don't have the American style amphitheaters in Australia - Def Leppard plays arenas here which are of course climate-controlled and boast excellent facilities. The only stadium show I've ever seen was Bon Jovi in Brisbane on the 'These Days' tour (1995) (don't even get me started on the opener, 'Dogstar' featuring a certain Keanu Reeves). I had previously seen Bon Jovi in the local arena (where Leppard always plays) on the New Jersey tour (Halloween 1989). While both performances were great, the arena experience was far superior. Bands love stadium shows - less work, prestige, more money, but the 'smaller' venue is far superior for the consumer. In fact. the stage show on the Stadium tour even seems reduced? Where's the pyro for Motley for instance?

Major problems with tickets not scanning to get into the venue. It’s a mess here.
At least it’s only 102° out here.

I also found that the band didn't play for the entire stadium (if that makes sense). None of them really went astray from their "spot" and played as if it was still an arena gig.

Smaller (unless we're talking tiny club) is always better. This past year, I got to see Billy Joel play at the Hard Rock in Miami, a 7,000 seat theater. It was amazing. Two weeks later, he was in Camping World Stadium, where the closest fan was still 20 yards away. Totally different experience. Obviously, drawing 40,000 fans in a stadium (even splitting money with Motley and paying the other acts) is better financially than drawing 10,000 in an arena or playing a shed. As a fan though, I would much prefer a small arena or large theater where even those in the back can still watch the band, not the screens.

I believe the last time they toured alone was in 1992/93 for the Adrenalize In The Round portion.
