I think there’s been a lot of activity on the band’s social media outside of their current tour and this post today is a great one. Nice to see they’ve used the video I uploaded to YouTube too

That was for the Hysteria 30th celebrations now you remind me. Either way it’s great to see them being put to some good use. They should be giving archive things like this more exposure on their own official channels

Dave has a reputation for being a bit of an ahole but i don't wish this disease on my worst enemy. I wish him and his family nothing but positive news as he follows his new journey which will hopefully end with a positive outcome.

If I remember correctly Dave once mentioned Steve Clark as an influence. Just to throw this in, Megadeth have got some great songs especially in that 86-95 period, but Holy Wars is one of the best metal / thrash songs ever written IMO.

I couldn't find the Steve Clark mention in my bookmarks--I also have a vague memory of him saying something to that effect--but I did find I'd saved two Mustaine tweets from 2017 and 2016, respectively, about Leppard: "My fave was On Through the Night, then High and Dry, then Hysteria. I played Rock Brigade, Wasted, and It Could Be You in my first band Panic." "I was very excited to see Phil Collin & Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. I've always been a huge fan of Joe and he's the coolest rockstar I know." (No idea what event this was referring to. Didn't save that info for some reason. I suspect it might have been the Classic Rock Awards.) As a side note, Leppard's camraderie with musicians nobody else seems to be able to get along with, like Mustaine and Neal Schon, has always amazed me.

A friend of mine in Barcelona sent me a link today from a Spanish rock magazine, La Heavy. The latest issue (414) has Phil on the cover and features an extensive interview, apparently. If anyone in that neck of the woods gets a copy and posts screenshots of the text, I’ll be happy to translate from Spanish Snippet from the interview: The guitarist was clear that new technologies will make it difficult to play the material they already have for a new album on this tour: “With cell phones, everything is recorded and uploaded on social networks, so we prefer to save the new songs for the next year.” 2020 is already set as the date for a new album by Def Leppard.

No worries. Between now and 2025, we’ll have three more Last In Line albums, two more Down N Outz albums, two more Delta Deep albums, another Riverdogs album, a Manraze best of, a Phil solo album, a Joe + Emm Gryner album, a 35th anniversary green vinyl release of Hysteria, a Hysteria cassette singles box set, and two more Lep box sets with nothing new inside to hold us over. Shame there’s just ‘no time’ for Lep to work on new stuff though.
