I couldn't agree more! This song locked me in the second I heard it on release day and still has that same effect today. I really like Ben's Super Monaco cover of this song! I'll empty my savings account as well to hear this live. Is that what it's going to take to make it happen??

While Viv and Joe have been doing their respective side band promos, I've been wondering where Phil is! No word on Delta Deep or anything. Today he resurfaced. https://www.instagram.com/p/B4qqI2knDqA

Love this shot. Steve Harris is a rock icon, great songwriter, player and almost like a frontman in his own right with how he is in concert and he is the leader of the band. Iron Maiden I’d say are probably the people’s band in Britain, they so popular and so highly regarded. Of course Leppard are too, but I don’t think they have Maidens bond with the fans that they seem to have when you go and see them. The only other band I can think of that make you feel like that and part of the family are Metallica. It’s a strange thing that’s hard to put into words.

Excerpt from a larger article, "The story of Skid Row: Glam metal's last hurrah." Skid Row recorded their debut album with Michael in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin ... located nearby was the 37,000-capacity Alpine Valley Music Theatre, where the band saw Def Leppard perform during their tour in support of Hysteria. “They could not have been nicer,” Snake says. “Phil [Collen, guitarist] came down to the studio, like, ‘Hey, I’m taking a helicopter over to the amphitheatre. Do you want to come with me?’ I flew with him over to do soundcheck. When they were leaving, they brought us a bunch of bottles of champagne and wished us luck.” SOURCE

Stumbled across this in Planet Rock magazine #16 at my local bookstore today. I've been told the issue is old. But just in case it hasn't been posted here before, I thought this was kind of cool and figured I'd share. I know it isn't great quality, sorry. The relevant text says: "This is the original Leppard logo as displayed in Geoff Barton's first feature on the band in Sounds. I saw them in a club in Birkenhead in 1979 with about 40 people, a few weeks before they supported AC/DC. They were around my age, and they spoke my language: pure heavy metal."

From Ian Hunter's monthly blog, answering the question "How did your appearance at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony come about?"
"Joe Elliott rang me and laid it out. Joe’s great, but we were rehearsing MTH’74 and didn’t think we could do it. Joe was ok with that, but the H.O.F. kept ringing my attorney ... daily. When they said I could get there late, it was the game changer. I could do the Mott rehearsal – miss the rush hour – and still do the final song. No sound check, but everybody knew I would be singing it a semi tone down. It was fun. Got to meet a lot of old mates. Went to a bit of a do afterwards and that was that."

This is just a little Eddie Trunk snippet about how shared management and the like influenced assorted groups (such as Tesla) back in the 80s. The Leppard segment (roughly five minutes long) starts at 7:36.

I'm not a vegan, but I'll agree with Rick that this Celebration roast is actually quite good. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

I love it! It's amazing to me just how much their stock has SOARED over the past few years. WE'VE always known they're great, but it seems everyone has finally realized it too!

Yet another instance of Leppard's influence on other musicians. From an article in Kerrang on Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It." "A major breakthrough in writing this song was Snider’s realisation that the verse and chorus didn’t need to be particularly different. He had written the chorus several year earlier, but it took hearing Def Leppard’s album Pyromania to finish it. In one interview he said: “In studying some of Mutt Lange’s work with Def Leppard, I saw that a number of their songs were using variations on the chorus as a verse. That gave me the information I needed.” SOURCE

Does anyone know if their interview with Entertainment Tonight will shown today? Granted it will be five seconds but still.
