I wonder why they did the O2 instead of Wembley initially, maybe they predicted higher ticket sales and needed a bit more capacity? Wembley probably is the better venue given a choice.

They’d never played the o2 before, so it’s a bit of a feather in the cap to sell it out. This and Manchester are the 2 biggest venues they’ll play with approx 20,000 each. Wembley was always ready to be announced but dependent on how the o2 sold.

All I can say is wow. Just wow. Wembley as an extra show after selling out an even bigger venue. Without a co-headliner. In 2018. This is the biggest business they've done in London in over 20 years since 1996 when they did 2 nights at Wembley on their own.
In 1999 they did one night and it wasn't sold out. In 2003 and 2006 they didn't even try Wembley and did Hammersmith 2008: one night with Whitesnake as co-headliner 2011: one night with Motley Crue as co-headliner 2015: one night with Whitesnake as co-headliner
Absolutely astonishing.

I happen to see the FB post from the band 45 minutes after they posted about the show. I got a floor ticket and then my husband told me how big Wembley is and I got intimidated about getting lost in the sea of people. I'm only 5 foot 3 so I can't see much at the best of times. I checked for seats in the stands and managed to grab four in the nosebleed section right by the stage. If my family comes with me on this trip, I hope the will join me and have a glimpse into my obsession. I've always envied the fans who go to the shows with their kids. Mine are sick of my obsession. Still, if my mom invited me on a trip to Rome and wanted to stop in Vatican city, I'd go to humour her out of gratitude for the trip and because it would make my mom happy.

O2 capacity can go to about 19,000, Wembley is about 12,000 based on end of venue stage setup, whether standing or seats on floor, how many seats are sold to the side or slightly behind stage (are these production holds?) etc. Royal Albert hall is about 5,300. Phenomenal that Lepps can sell 16,000+ tickets first day at O2 as a headline artist without need for co-headliner.

Wembley, if the seat map is correct, only has 1,000 tickets left, so about 11,000 sold already. London obviously wants to see Hysteria!

I didn't realize that there was a Wembley Arena and a Wembley stadium. I was pretty intimidated with the idea of 90,000 and how many would be on the floor. Perhaps I'll keep my floor ticket after all. I really wanted to see them in London but the 02 date was too early before I arrive so this worked out for me. It's always special to see a band on the last night of a tour.

Maybe the release of their songs on Spotify helped. That actually made some entertainment sites headlines as most bands had already released on Spotify. I will also say when you look at the price of tickets in 2018, Def Leppard's are actually quite reasonable. Most bands at their level absolutely rob you charging £50-70 to sit at the back of an arena.

As I mentioned in this previous post, I purchased four tickets on top of my single floor ticket. I purposely bought the same day that the tickets went on sale (Jan 23) and got seats on Viv's side near the stage. Then in May, we get this email with four different seats on Phil's side. Then later an email that says "you may have noticed, we switched your seats". Um, what? After a lot of delayed correspondence from AXS I learn that the original seats had an obstructed view. No consultation at all before assigning me new seats. Email takes forever so I finally called today and asked if I could get a refund on those tickets. After all, I still have my single floor ticket. The girl looked into it and it was the venue that was behind it, not AXS. She said she will put in a request but in the end, "the fine print says that they are allowed to do it". I asked what fine print because I haven't received the tickets yet. She said it was listed on the website when you purchase. Has anyone ever heard of this before or had this happen to them? Fingers crossed I hear back from them soon.

What ever happened with these seats Donna? I've only had that happen once.
