This probably has no bearing on anything, but for what it's worth....
Eagle Rock is releasing a new Heart live show. It will be available on CD/DVD/BD just like Def Leppard's new live release. The Heart concert occurred on June 29th 2016 and is being released on December 2nd 2016. The concert filmed for Def Leppard's new Eagle Rock release occurred 16 days later on July 15th 2016. So.... it seems to be within the realm of possibility that Eagle Rock could have the new Def Leppard live CD/DVD/BD ready for release in December. That said, I have no idea if Heart has a deal in place for their new live release to be broadcast on AXSTV or some other network. If they don't that may allow their show to be released earlier than would be true if they have a TV broadcast deal in place. We know Def Leppard's Detroit show is also planned for broadcast on AXSTV so theoretically that could cause a delay in the CD/DVD/BD release if the TV broadcast must occur prior to the release.

When shows due to be released on DVD have been broadcast on the TV here in the UK, its been a matter of days apart from the phycial DVD release. So the delay between TV and release to buy may not be that short.

It would be cool if they played it in theaters before they released it like they did for Viva Hysteria.

Thinking back now on the Viva Hysteria release in the US, I recall that events happened in this order: Movie Theater release in early October, physical CD/DVD/BD release on October 22nd, initial broadcast on AXSTV on December 29th. So.... it's possible the physical release could occur prior to the TV broadcast.

I'm super pumped! This is the 1st I've heard about this.
The title is perfect! This is exactly what their catalog needs - more official live recordings because playing live is and has been their bread and butter for quite some time.

The official announcement of the most recent Def Leppard album occurred on September 15th (the track listing was revealed on Instagram the day before) and it was released on October 30th. |
